Abstract:This work is devoted to studying asymptotic behaviors for Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with small noise. By applying the weak convergence approach, we establish the large and moderate deviation principles. In addition, we obtain the central limit theorem and find the Volterra integral equation satisfied by the limiting process, which involves the Lions derivative of the drift coefficient.

Abstract:In this article, some inequalities on convolution equations are presented firstly. The mean square stability of the zero solution of the impulsive stochastic Volterra equation is studied by using obtained inequalities on Liapunov function, including mean square exponential and non-exponential asymptotic stability. Several sufficient conditions for the mean square stability are presented. Results in this article indicate that not only the impulse intensity but also the time of impulse can influence the stability of the systems. Abstract:In this paper, we consider a Volterra model with mutual interference and Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. By applying the comparison theorem of the differential equation and constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions which guarantee the permanence and existence of a unique globally attractive positive almost periodic solution of the system are obtained.
On Spectral Methods for Volterra Integral Equations and the Convergence Analysis

Abstract:The main purpose of this work is to provide a novel numerical approach for the Volterra integral equations based on a spectral approach. A Legendre-collocation method is proposed to solve the Volterra integral equations of the second kind. We provide a rigorous error analysis for the proposed method, which indicates that the numerical errors decay exponentially provided that the kernel function and the source function are sufficiently smooth. Numerical results confirm the theoretical prediction of the exponential rate of convergence. The result in this work seems to be the first successful spectral approach (with theoretical justification) for the Volterra type equations.

Abstract:In this paper, the numerical solution of two-dimensional linear Volterra integral equation by collocation and iterated collocation is considered. The asymptotic error expansion of the iterated collocation is obtained. We show that when piecewise polynomials of πp-1,q-1 are used, the iterated collocation solution admits an error expansion in powers of the step-size h and step-size k. For a special choice of the collocation point, the leading terms in the error expansion for iterated collocation contain only even powers of the stepsizes h and k, beginning with terms in h2p and k2q so that the Richardson extrapolation can be done. This will increase the accuracy of numerical solution greatly.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the numerical solution of two-dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equation by collocation and iterated collocation method. Asymptotic error expansion of iterated collocation solution is obtained. Using Richardson's extrapolation, we show that the accuracy of numerical solution in the iterated collocation method can be improved greatly. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate this theory.

Abstract:We study the existence of solution of Volterra integral equations of the second kind and how we can approximate it. For this, we analyse the role played by the Banach Contraction Principle to locate a solution and its approximation by the method of successive approximations. We improve the previous analysis by giving a location of the solution and then approximate it by a collocation method that uses Lagrange polynomials. To avoid the Runge phenomenon that may appear when the number of nodes increases, we choose the Chebyshev zeros as the collocation points. But, when increasing the number of nodes to improve the precision, the problem of possible ill-conditioning of the linear system involved in the collocation method may arise. This last problem is solved by applying an inverse-free iterative method that uses only matrix products.

Abstract:The multistep collocation method is applied to Volterra integral equations of the first kind. The existence and uniqueness of the multistep collocation solution are proved. Then the convergence condition of the multistep collocation method is analyzed and the corresponding convergence order is described. In particular, for cm=1, the convergence conditions, which can be easily implemented, are given for two-step and three-step collocation methods. Numerical experiments illustrate the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:Influenced by Xiao et al. (J Integral Equations Appl 30(1):197–218, 2018), collocation methods are developed to study strong convergence orders of numerical solutions for nonlinear stochastic Volterra integral equations under the Lipschitz condition in this paper. Some properties of exact solutions are discussed. These properties include the mean-square boundedness, the Hölder condition, and conditional expectations. In addition, this paper considers the solvability, the mean-square boundedness, and strong convergence orders of numerical solutions. At last, we validate our conclusions by numerical experiments.

Abstract:In this paper, the weakly singular Volterra integral equations with an infinite set of solutions are investigated. Among the set of solutions only one particular solution is smooth and all others are singular at the origin. The numerical solutions of this class of equations have been a difficult topic to analyze and have received much previous investigation. The aim of this paper is to present a numerical technique for giving the approximate solution to the only smooth solution based on reproducing kernel theory. Applying weighted integral, we provide a new definition for reproducing kernel space and obtain reproducing kernel function. Using the good properties of reproducing kernel function, the only smooth solution is exactly expressed in the form of series. The n-term approximate solution is obtained by truncating the series. Meanwhile, we prove that the derivative of approximation converges to the derivative of exact solution uniformly. The final numerical examples compared with other methods show that the method is efficient.

Abstract:We study the stochastic (Skorohod) integral equation of the Volterra type $$ {X_t}(\omega ) = {Y_t}(\omega ) + \int\limits_0^t {b(t,s){X_s}(\omega )ds} + \int\limits_0^t {\sigma (t,s){X_s}(\omega )\delta {B_s}(\omega )} $$ where Y, b and a are given functions; b and a are bounded, deterministic and Yt is stochastic, not necessarily adapted. The stochastic integral (δB) is taken in the Skorohod sense. In general there need not exist a classical stochastic process Xt(w) satisfying this equation. However, we show that a unique solution exists in the following extended senses: Moreover, in both cases we find explicit solution formulas. The formulas are similar to the formulas in the deterministic case (σ≡0), but with Wick products in stead of ordinary (pointwise) products.

Abstract:Our study aims to specify the asymptotic error distribution in the discretization of a stochastic Volterra equation with a fractional kernel. It is well-known that for a standard stochastic differential equation, the discretization error, normalized with its rate of convergence $1/\sqrt{n}$, converges in law to the solution of a certain linear equation. Similarly to this, we show that a suitably normalized discretization error of the Volterra equation converges in law to the solution of a certain linear Volterra equation with the same fractional kernel.

On non-negative solutions of stochastic Volterra equations with jumps and non-Lipschitz coefficients

Abstract:We consider one-dimensional stochastic Volterra equations with jumps for which we establish conditions upon the convolution kernel and coefficients for the strong existence and pathwise uniqueness of a non-negative càdlàg solution. By using the approach recently developed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2302.07758" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2302.07758">arXiv:2302.07758</a>, we show the strong existence by using a nonnegative approximation of the equation whose convergence is proved via a variant of the Yamada--Watanabe approximation technique. We apply our results to Lévy-driven stochastic Volterra equations. In particular, we are able to define a Volterra extension of the so-called alpha-stable Cox--Ingersoll--Ross process, which is especially used for applications in Mathematical Finance.
