Abstract:Nowadays, with rapid process of urbanization, sustainable construction has become the global trend in the area of city development. Meanwhile, university campus is a place that integrates education, living, communication and other functions, the satisfaction of which will surely have significant impact on students’ potential and their health both physically and mentally. In view of this, this paper built up the comprehensive evaluation indicator system from the perspective of safety, health, convenience, comfort and sustainability and performed satisfaction evaluation on campus environment, taking the five campuses of Zhejiang University for example. Finally this paper put forward suggestions on sustainable construction and improvement of campus environment.

Abstract:With the vigorous promotion of national policies and funds, green campus construction is booming in Chinese universities. It's in great need to develop an evaluation system, as a long-term mechanism, to assess and compare the sustainability performance in different Chinese universities, and to guide the green campus revolution in Chinese universities. Aiming at the characteristics of green campus evolution in China, a campus sustainability evaluation system is developed, that contains five categories of Organization & Management (C1), Energy & Resource Saving (C2), Friendly Environment (C3), Campus Culture (C4), and Social Outreach (C5). The indicators include mandatory indicators, all of which must be met in order to pass the evaluation, and optional indicators, which take the form of scoring. The scores of all optional indicators should be accumulated to get the final score. The achievements and shortcomings of sustainable campus development in a pilot Chinese university were revealed by this system as a case study, and the results indicate more attention should be paid on C1, C2, C4, and hence detailed suggestions were put forward. Discussions are made in terms of the potential contribution and the limitation of this evaluation system, and the capacity building needed to generalize the evaluation in China.

Abstract:With the rapid development of Chinese universities and colleges in the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the population of enrolled students accompanied by a big expansion of campus area. These changes have influenced and are influencing the campus residential environment and lifestyles. As a result, the issue of their relationships should call for more attention. Due to the differences in personal values and campus lifestyles, students′ demands on the residential environment show diversity. In the case study of Hangzhou City, China, viewpoints concerning personal attributes, residential preferences and campus conditions to represent the residential lifestyles on campus were introduced and analyzed. Six university campuses were selected as survey objectives in order to comprehensively demonstrate campus environment conditions in the city. Four patterns of campus residential lifestyle were classified by residential preferences; and their characteristics were compared through subjective evaluation and objective conditions. The results of this research provide the basic data for future work in the improvement of the Chinese campus environment. Furthermore, the methodology of characterizing residential lifestyles may bring about a new useful perspective for further research on the evaluation of residential environment.

Abstract:Green campus, as the practice carrier of higher education, concerns the long-term plan of the country. In this paper, first of all, many problems existing in the current construction of green campus in China have been sorted out from the perspective of ecological civilization, through the layer by layer analysis of the meaning and development process of green campus, and then, countermeasures and suggestions for the construction of green campus in colleges and universities in China are put forward according to their actual situation: strengthening the publicity of ecological knowledge, guiding students to participate in the construction of green campus; guiding the scientific and reasonable development of specialty, integrating the concept of ecological civilization into the curriculum system; improving the form of administrative level system, and establishing a green organizational structure.

Abstract:The construction of Green University is developing in depth. The establishment of green campus culture has the positive effect on campus energy conservation and green university construction. The green campus culture of nine universities in different climate regions are investigated through the questionnaire survey and field work to analyze the situation and problems of the green campus culture through the aspects of green university cognition, green education, green activities and green behavior. The green campus culture should focus on publicity, education and management to promote green university construction.

Abstract:Higher learning institutions have played a significant role in enhancing ecological education and ideological development among students. This is in response to the many problems occurring in the modern world concerning ideological and environmental aspects. Despite the efforts made by the state through increasing investments to deal with these aspects effectively, the resulting impact is not satisfactory. As a result, higher learning institutions have served as a significant area in offering solutions to these problems by nurturing high-level social talents. Education in higher learning institutions has dramatically expanded and integrated new research areas to counteract the limitations of traditional learning methods. Colleges and universities have upgraded their teaching activities and education sites in the modern era. However, these institutions have experienced many challenges and problems which have severely affected the ideological education ecosystem and the moral quality of students. The ecological education crisis in most learning institutions has become an unavoidable drift of the current education development. As a result, ideological education in colleges and universities is regarded as an ecosystem since it is analyzed from an ecological perspective. The ecology of ideological education refers to the environmental balance, law, and processes involved in the ideological education system. Furthermore, it incorporates value alignment and procedural thinking on the interaction between the environment and various aspects. Ecological and environmental development significantly impacts higher education students' values, emotions, and thoughts in the new environment. Therefore ecological changes have clear impacts on the living environment, which is in compliance with sustainable development concept.

Abstract:Natural ecology is the basis of social development. The destruction of natural ecological environment would limit the development of society. Environmental issues have become the commonly concerned problems internationally and globally. Promoting the public knowledge and awareness of environmental problems as well as understanding of the correlations among living environment, resources, and humans through education would absolutely be urgent for educators. Campus environment is the best place for students’ ecological education and learning; therefore, a campus with good ecological environment would to-some-degree assist in the overall campus ecology. To maintain the overall balance between campus ecological environment and biological conservation, build natural landscape, and create aquatic and terrestrial habitats, traditional ecological environment engineering should be regulated to suit the sustainable development of ecological campus environment with biological conservation and ecological restoration environment. With college students in Guangxi as the research objects, total 288 students from two classes each in universities, as the experimental research objects, are preceded the 16-week (3 hours per week for total 48 hours) experimental teaching research. The research results conclude that 1.campus ecological environment integrated art education would affect learning motivation, 2.campus ecological environment integrated art education would affect learning effectiveness, 3.learning motivation presents significantly positive effects on learning effect in learning effectiveness, and 4.learning motivation shows remarkably positive effects on learning gain in learning effectiveness. According to the results to propose suggestions, it is expected to establish students’ identification and the successive belongingness through environmental integrated art education to assist students in overcoming the personality development stage for the positive psychological development.

Abstract:With the continuous progress of social civilization, colleges and universities have become more and more concerned about campus landscape construction. Construction of campus environment is good for college students study and life, excellent campus landscape design is not only beneficial for the physical and mental development of students, but also cultivate the students' sentiment. Thus, a good campus landscape design is an important embodiment of campus architecture and culture. Whether the traditional Oriental classic campus landscape design or the modern design that contains the western art culture breath, it is easy to see in each campus landscape construction. In this paper, we will discuss these opportunities and challenges which the campus landscape construction design faced in the progress of being created. The analysis of the need to follow in the process of the construction of campus ecological principles, respectively is a collaborative environment, function and practical, and the principle of adjust measures to local conditions, finally the main content of the construction of university campus landscape were summarized, learned that the university campus ecological landscape construction in university culture and ecology research has important practical significance.

Abstract:It has been one of the hotspot issues analyzing the complicated relationship among elements in higher education system through ecology theory in recent years. The paper analyzed the researches on educational ecology from 2001 to date through situation and keywords analysis by Citespace, and summarized the research stages and trends. The analysis results showed that the researches mainly focused on introducing and summarizing western academic ideas in the early stage, while the researchers devoted to elaborating on the ecological characters of China’s education system in mid-term stage. The research focus of recent ifve years has apparently shifted to the inlfuence of information technology on the openness of higher education. What are the effects of MOOCs and open educational resources have brought to higher education ecological system and how to achieve a new balance? Abstract:Since the beginning of the 21st century, large-scale extensive expansion of suburb new campus construction has been a kind of abnormal phenomenon in the process of the rapid development of modern higher education. Along with the implementation of land macro-control policies, the old campus space renovation will be the significant direction in campus construction. The complex natural environment and more limited land resources are key factors in mountainous old campus space renovation. Taking Chongqing University as the example, the paper analyzes the relationship of symbiosis, coexistence, mutual prosperity between mankind and the elements in particular mountainous environment. Starting from the whole and harmony, we try to discuss the adaption of mountainous old campus to natural environment, built environment and cultural environment by adopting adaptive methods, so as to maintain its regional character, and guide mountainous campus construction to overcome the environmental bottle-neck. Based on own advantages, the mountainous old campus will develop to be a high efficient, compact and open ecological adaptive campus by continuous effective renovation.
