Clinical significance of hyponatremia in the patients with cirrhosis ascites

Abstract:Objective To the clinical value of hyponatremia in the patients with cirrhosis ascites,and to provide the reference of the reasonable treatment for cirrhosis ascites.Methods The 89 cases of cirrhosis ascites’patients with hyponatremia were analysed,who were admitted to digestive department of first affliated hospital of NanChang university in 2005.Results There were significant difference in Child-Pugh score,incidence of hepatic encephalopathy, therapeutic effect of ascites,compared the patients with severe-hyponatremia with those with mild-or mid-hyponatremia(P<0.005,respectively).There were significant difference in the events of death compared the patients with mid-hyponatremia and that who with mild-hyponatremia (P<0.05).There were significant difference in the events of death also,compared patients with severe-hyponatremia hyponatremia and patients with mid-hyponatremia(P<0.05).Conclusion The Child-Pugh score,incidence of hepaticencephalopathy,therapeutic effect of ascites are correlation to hyponatremia in patients with cirrhosis ascites,especially severe-hyponatremia;and the percentage of events of death is positive correlation to the degree of hyponatremia.
