Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:This paper deals with the space-homogenous Landau equation with very soft potentials, including the Coulomb case. This nonlinear equation is of parabolic type with diffusion matrix given by the convolution product of the solution with the matrix $a_{ij} (z)=|z|^\gamma (|z|^2 \delta_{ij} - z_iz_j)$ for $\gamma \in [-3,-2)$. We derive local truncated entropy estimates and use them to establish two facts. Firstly, we prove that the set of singular points (in time and velocity) for the weak solutions constructed as in [C. Villani, Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 143 (1998), 273-307] has zero $\mathscr{P}^{m_\ast}$ parabolic Hausdorff measure with $m_\ast:= \frac72 |2+\gamma|$. Secondly, we prove that if such a weak solution is axisymmetric, then it is smooth away from the symmetry axis. In particular, radially symmetric weak solutions are smooth away from the origin.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the non-cutoff Boltzmann equation in spatially inhomogeneous case. We prove the propagation of Gevrey regularity for the so-called smooth Maxwellian decay solutions to the Cauchy problem of spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation, and obtain Gevrey regularity of order $1/(2s)$ in the velocity variable $v$ and order 1 in the space variable $x$. The strategy relies on our recent results for spatially homogeneous case (J. Diff. Equ. 253(4) (2012), 1172-1190. Abstract:In this paper, we describe several stationary conditions on weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Landau-Lifshitz equation, which ensure the partial regularity. For certain class of proper stationary weak solutions, a compactness result of the solutions, a finite Hausdorff measure result of the t -slice energy concentration sets and an asymptotic limit result of the Radon measures are proved. We also present a subtle rectifiability result for the energy concentration set of certain sequence of strong stationary weak solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we will show the existence of partially regular solutions to the initial–boundary value problem for Landau–Lifshitz equations with nonpositive anisotropy constants in three or four space dimensions. The partial regularity is proved up to the boundary both for the Dirichlet problem and for the Neumann problem. In addition, for the Neumann case, a generalized stability condition which ensures the partial regularity is given. For equations with positive or negative anisotropy coefficients, we will give two results of existence and uniqueness for the solutions corresponding to ground states.
Existence of smooth solutions to the Landau equation with hard potentials and irregular initial data

Abstract:This paper addresses large-data local existence and uniqueness of classical solutions to the inhomogeneous Landau equation in the hard potentials case (including Maxwell molecules). Solutions have previously been constructed by Chaturvedi [SIAM J. Math. Anal., 55(5), 5345--5385, 2023] for initial data in an exponentially-weighted $H^{10}$ space, but it is not a priori clear whether these solutions have more regularity than the initial data. We improve Chaturvedi's existence result in two ways: our solutions are $C^\infty$ for positive times, and we allow initial data in a sub-exponentially-weighted $L^\infty$ space, at the cost of requiring a mild positivity condition at time zero. To prove uniqueness, we require stronger assumptions on the initial data: Hölder continuity and the absence of vacuum regions. These are the same assumptions that are required for uniqueness in prior work on the soft potentials case. Along the way to proving existence and uniqueness, we establish some useful results that were previously only known in the case of soft potentials, including spreading of positivity and propagation of Hölder continuity. Many of the proof strategies from the soft potentials case do not apply here because of the more severe loss of velocity moments.

Abstract:In this note, we prove the partial regularity of stationary weak solutions for the Landau-Lifshitz system with general potential in four or three dimensional space. As well known, in general, since the constraint of the methods, in order to get the partial regularity of stationary weak solution of the Landau-Lifshitz system with potential, we need to add some very strongly conditions on the potential. The main difficulty caused by potential is how to find the equation satisfied by the scaling function, which breaks down the blow-up processing. We estimate directly Morrey’s energy to avoid the difficulties by blowing up.

Abstract:We describe a time -dependent functional involving the relative entropy and the seminorm, which decreases along solutions to the spatially homogeneous Landau equation with Coulomb potential. The study of this monotone functional sheds light on the competition between dissipation and nonlinearity for this equation. It enables us to obtain new results concerning regularity/blowup issues for the Landau equation with Coulomb potential.

Abstract:We consider the spatially inhomogeneous Landau equation with hard potentials (i.e. with $\gamma \in [0,1]$) on the whole space $\mathbb{R}^3$. We prove existence and uniquenss of solutions for a small time, assuming that the initial data is in a weighted tenth-order Sobolev space and has exponential decay in the velocity variable. In constrast to the soft potential case, local existence for the hard potentials case has been missing from the literature. This is because the moment loss issue is the most severe for these potentials. To get over this issue, our proof relies on a weighted hierarchy of norms that depends on the number of spatial and velocity derivatives in an asymmetric way. This hierarchy lets us take care of the terms that are affected by the moment loss issue the most. These terms do not give in to methods applied to study existence of solutions to Landau equation with soft potentials and are a major reason why the local existence problem was not known for the case of hard potentials.

Abstract:. The aim of this work is to consider the partial regularity for the stationary weak solutions to the Landau-Lifshitz system of Ferromagnetic spin chain from a m -dimensional manifold M into the unit sphere S 2 of R 3 . The Landau-Lifshitz system is in appearance very similar to the heat flows of harmonic maps into sphere. However the monotonicity inequality, which plays an important role in getting partial regularity, does not hold in this case. This becomes a large barrier to regularity. In the present paper we get a generalized monotonicity inequality, and find the singular set of the stationary weak solutions of Landau-Lifshitz system.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly consider the global solvability of smooth solutions for the Cauchy problem of the three-dimensional Landau–Lifshitz–Slonczewski equation in the Morrey space. When the initial data , we derive the covariant complex Ginzburg–Landau equation by using moving frames to address the nonlinear parts. Applying the semigroup estimates and energy methods, we extend local classical solutions to global solutions and prove the boundedness of under some conditions on and the density of the spin-polarized current, where is the magnetic intensity. Moreover, when the initial data , we obtain a global weak solution by using an approximation. Finally, we establish the existence and uniqueness of global smooth solutions via the regularity theory of weak solutions

Abstract:In this paper, we prove propagation of $\frac{1}{s}$-Gevrey regularity $(s \in (0, 1))$ and analyticity $(s=1)$ for the Vlasov-Navier-Stokes system on $\mathbb{T}^d \times \mathbb{R}^d$ (and $\mathbb{R}^d\times\mathbb{R}^d$) using a Fourier space method in analogy to the results proved for the Euler system in [Kukavica and Vicol, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 2009] and [Levermore and Oliver, JDE, 1997] and for Vlasov-Poisson system in [Velozo Ruiz, Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré C Anal. Non Linéaire, 2021]. More precisely, we give quantitative estimates for the growth of the $\frac{1}{s}$-Gevrey norm and decay of the regularity radius for the solution of the system in terms of $\nabla_x u$, the spatial density $\rho_f$ and the diameter of the support in the velocity variable of the distribution of particles $f$. In particular, this implies existence of $\frac{1}{s}$-Gevrey $(s \in (0, 1))$ and analytic $(s = 1)$ solutions for the Vlasov-Navier-Stokes system in $\mathbb{T}^d\times\mathbb{R}^d$ (and $\mathbb{R}^d\times\mathbb{R}^d$), and global Gevrey solutions in $\mathbb{T}^3\times\mathbb{R}^3$ for sufficiently small data, and an initial data for the Vlasov equation with compact support in velocity.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some priori estimates to provide the critical regularity criteria for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on and super critical surface quasi-geostrophic equations on . Concerning the Navier-Stokes equations, we demonstrate that a Leray-Hopf solution is regular if , or in Lorentz space , with . Additionally, an alternative regularity condition is expressed as ( ), contingent upon a smallness assumption on the norm . For the surface quasi-geostrophic equations, we derive that a Leray-Hopf weak solution is smooth for any small enough. Similar to the case of Navier-Stokes equations, we derive regularity criteria in more refined spaces, i.e. Lorentz spaces and addition of two critical spaces , with smallness assumption on .

Abstract:This document presents an elementary approach using $\varepsilon$-Poincaré inequality to prove generation of $L^{p}$-bounds, $p\in(1,\infty)$, for the homogeneous Landau equation with moderate soft potentials $\gamma\in[-2,0)$. The critical case $\gamma=-2$ uses an interpolation approach in the realm of Lorentz spaces and entropy. Alternatively, a direct approach using the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev (HLS) inequality and entropy is also presented. On this basis, the generation of pointwise bounds $p=\infty$ is deduced from a De Giorgi argument.
