Abstract:The present study reviews recent research into urban community sports in China. Whilst affirming the validity of the research the study indicates that there are some pitfalls that need to be avoided in such research, for example: the basic conceptual framework is superficial; the research design is inappropriate; and the research instruments employed are inadequate in terms of innovation and depth. The study suggests that Chinese culture, society and sport practices should be taken account of when overseas frames of reference are employed.

Abstract:Professional basketball and the youth basketball development system are two main fields for improving the situation of Chinese basketball. By comparing the Basketball Professional League and youth basketball development systems between China and the United States, we discovered that the Chinese basketball system needs to be combined with education, the Chinese training model is outdated and incomplete, and the nationwide system has hampered the development of professional and youth basketball. Moreover, we found that China has a large number of basketball fans; national policies can help the development of the basketball industry; and China has rapid economic development. Eventually, Chinese basketball needs to focus on combining sports and education, absorbing advanced training systems, and establishing a sound management system.

Localization and Mainstream Emergence of Hip-Hop Music in China: a Critical Transculturalism Perspective

Abstract:Hip-hop culture has evolved into a global phenomenon, attracting extensive academic research on its adaptation and localization in different societies. However, most studies have either neglected the influence of political economic power on hybridization or have overestimated the rationality of the artists in hip-hop culture. This study adopted critical transculturalism theory to shed light on the agency and power relations involved in the localization and mainstream emergence of Chinese hip-hop music from both longitudinal and comparative perspectives. The findings, which are based on qualitative content analysis and critical discourse analysis of news articles published in the three golden years (2008, 2010, and 2017) of the development of Chinese hip-hop music, suggest that whereas cultural and political factors were influential on both the localization and mainstream emergence processes, economic factors played a greater role in mainstream emergence. The enhancement of literacy in professional knowledge aroused public interest, and the use of symbolic hybridity created a role model for underground rappers and attracted social attention. Both these factors helped Chinese hip-hop music enter the mainstream industry. The idea of symbolic hybridity proposed in this study, which provides a mesolevel perspective, is worth further research.

Abstract:This essay takes a Chinese music TV programme Zhongguo You Xiha (The Rap of China) to discuss the Hip-Hop music in China. It states that the rising of the Hip-Hop in China is actually a cross-cultural phenomenon. On the one side, Chinese Hip-Hop keeps the idea of expression as its core philosophy. The sustainable economic develop ment and the open-door policy in China, to some extent, have created an expansion of personal freedom in socio-economic life, allowing Chinese artists to express their feelings, emotions, attitudes, and, to make their voices heard. On the other side of the coin, Chinese rapping or dancing acts as a multicultural phenomenon, mixed with both the Eastern (Japanese and Korean) and the Western (American) styles. It appears as a new form of musical expression, functioning as a pop culture rather than a political one. Furthermore, Chinese Hip-Hop has been particularly attracted to Chinese youth. In other words, Chinese young rappers have potentially adopted Hip-Hop as a youth culture to fulfil l their personal interests and needs.
The Present Situation of Small- Medium- Sized Basketball Clubs and Suggestions on Development

Abstract:With Hohhot as an example,this paper undertakes a survey on the existing basketball clubs and the people who participate in basketball sport. Combined with relevant materials and the research outcomes of experts,it comes to the conclusion that at present the basketball clubs in Hohhot is transforming from marginalization to mainstreaming rapidly. The basketball groups are transforming from anti- popularization to massification. Therefore,government should give more preferential policies. Meanwhile,government should undertake better publicity project with the aid of public media,encourage basketball organizer to improve basketball clubs,introduce more specialized talents,better organize and instruct basketball education and teaching,help public change their attitude to basketball sport,establish basketball groups based on the combination of massification and specialization,organize competitions,agent famous basketball products and development sport league,etc.

Abstract:At present, basketball in China has been rapidly popularized. Heze city is a prefecture-level city, an economic and cultural center, and has many basketball clubs, but some problems have been gradually exposed in its rapid development process. Therefore, the research and analysis of Heze Youth Basketball Club is the original intention of this paper. This paper investigates more than 10 youth basketball clubs in Heze city, and draws the following conclusions and countermeasures: most of Heze youth basketball clubs are founded by individuals, and there are great differences in the number of students, the size of the company and the ratio of men and women.Most of the Heze youth clubs in the urban areas and the suburbs are relatively few, more rented university or school space is mainly indoor.The youth basketball club should appropriately increase the contact with the school, hold more regular basketball games, strengthen the publicity of the club, attract more social forces, pay attention to the basic skills practice of the students, and improve the management mechanism.

Abstract:In 2017, an online reality show single-handedly ignited China's passion for hip hop, garnering more than 2.5 billion views and ensuring stardom for its contestants. Prior to this, Chinese hip-hop culture was only an “underground culture”; a small number of people sang in subway stations, not in mainstream media or culture. Based on research into the concept of “post-subculture” and the Birmingham school's theory of youth subcultures, this research takes the TV music show The Rap of China as an exemplary case study and explores how media companies make use of power emerging from fandom to “break the rules” of the traditions of mainstream culture in China. Through online observations of hip-hop songs and artists as well as interviews of hip-hop fans, this research explores the identities constructed in the age of consumerism and how new hip-hop generation fans perceive hip-hop culture.

Abstract:Hip-hop music originated in Brooklyn in the United States, and was introduced to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in the 1980s. Subsequently, with the development of the Internet and China’s acceptance of foreign culture, hip-hop music culture gradually spread to the mainland. In this paper, the sustainable development of hip-hop culture in China was studied by using the perspective of the long tail theory. It is pointed out that the 21st century is the fastest time for the spread of rap in China, but at the same time, a series of problems have also been generated. The young age of hip-hop listeners brings challenges to its development space, and Chinese hip-hop music has not formed a unique local cultural characteristic, which leads to the success of localization of hip-hop music culture in China. The following policy suggestions are put forward: to introduce more typical representatives of rappers in the corresponding age group, so as to improve the understanding, awareness and participation of different age groups of listeners in hip-hop music culture. Reduce the imitation of foreign rap, add Chinese cultural elements, innovate the lyric content, and endow hiphop music with Chinese localization characteristics.

Abstract:The purpose of this reserch is to understand the current status of Chinese youth and Mini Basketball culbs and identify associated issues. Additionally, the study aims to identify vaild improvement points and propose the direction for the development of Chinese youth Mini Basketball clubs. To achieve these research objectives, a literature review and a Delphi survey were employed as the two anlysis methods. The Delphi technique involved a panel of 30 experts with experience in Chinese youth Mini Basketball clubs. The experts were opinions were analyzed using mean, median, convergence, consensus, stability, and content validity rations. Experts talk about improvements in Chinese youth mini-basketball clubs mentioned the insufficient regulations and low quality of referee management within the Youth Mini Basketball Association. Futhermore, the Inadequate establishment of basic facility placement systems in Chinese youth Mini Basketball clubs resulted in a lack of training environments. The experts also noted a lack of innovation in specific and diverse educational goals, content, and methods for training.

Abstract:Tensions between artistic production and state policy have attracted scholarly attention for more than half a century, especially in the subcultural field. In 2017, a hip-hop talent show—The Rap of China brought Chinese hip-hop music and rappers to the spotlight. Hip-hop was a marginal subcultural form in China where the right form of culture should positively influence the society. However, direct censorship towards hip-hop music is not ideal and even ends up with an opposite effect. The hip-hop talent show is a touchstone for an alternative cultural policy from the central government. When media and the market call for more personalities, hip-hop music finally gains power and becomes mainstream. Nonetheless, its legitimate position is not secured and confronts continuous struggles from the state policy and accusations of not "keeping real". Syncretizing arguments on power, empowerment, and censorship of media and politics in China, this article examines the dynamic and nuanced position of hip-hop music and rappers around 2017. This paper argues that conditioned incorporation and commercialization are alternative forms of censorship for hip-hop music in China.

Abstract:Abstract The Basketball is a sport with both competition and entertainment. In recent years, due to the popularity of NBA in the United States, basketball has been widely popularized in China. Basketball is one of the core contents of physical education, but the existing basketball teaching methods are too theoretical, boring process, and not conducive to students’ mastery of skills. Therefore, combined with the characteristics of the information age, this paper puts forward the practical application research of sports basketball teaching app under the background of new media. In this paper, the new media technology and sports app are deeply studied. It is considered that the use of new media technology in Basketball Teaching in the future is a great development trend. The use of basketball training teaching APP can improve teaching effect, cultivate students’ interest in learning in class, and cultivate students’ learning awareness. In order to further verify the practical effect of APP teaching method for basketball teaching, this paper establishes the corresponding comparative experiment. The experimental group used app teaching method; the control group used traditional teaching method, and then compared the average score of basic basketball between the two groups through the test. The results of the experiment show that the score of the experimental group using app teaching method is significantly higher than that of the control group, with obvious difference. Therefore, it can be considered that the app teaching method can improve the basketball training effect of the traditional basketball training method.
