Interfacial Stress Analyses on RC Beams Strengthened With Pre-stressed FRP Under Concentrated Loading

Abstract:This paper presents the theoretical analyses on the interfacial stress of RC beams strengthened with pre-stressed FRP.Base on the elastic theory,the structural interfacial stresses are analyzed,and the analytical solutions of normal stress and shear stress are obtained.The results show that the stresses depends on not only the initial pre-stress,loading,size of the beam,the elastic module and shearing module of the adhesive,but also the length,thickness and elastic module of FRP.The most maximum absolute values of the interfacial normal stress and shear stress are both occur at the end of the FRP,and the stresses decrease quickly from the end to the mid-point.
