Abstract:The title compound, C29H24O2, has mirror symmetry with the cyclopropane C atoms lying on the mirror plane. The fluorene system is essentially planar and makes dihedral angles of 91.43 ( 4) and 23.50 ( 6) degrees with the cyclopropane and substituted benzene rings, respectively.

Abstract:In the title compound, C35H24, the fluorene ring system is essentially planar and makes a dihedral angle of 90.02 (2)degrees with the plane of the cyclopropane ring. The dihedral angles between the fluorene ring system and the naphthalene ring systems are 52.26 (3) and 57.55 (3)degrees, and pi-pi stacking occurs between nearly parallel naphthalene ring systems.

Abstract:The fluorene fragment of the title compound, C22H25N, is essentially planar, with an r.m.s deviation of the five-membered ring of 0.005 (2) Å. The dihedral angle between this ring and the outer benzene rings are 1.5 (2) and 0.7 (2)° while that between the benzene rings is 2.1 (2)°. The cyano group makes an angle of 0.3 (2)° with the attached benzene ring.

Abstract:The title compound, 19 H,79 H-3,5,9,11-tetra-oxa-1,7(2,7)-difluorena-4,10(1,3)-dibenzena-cyclo-dodeca-phane-19,79-dione (fluorenonophane), exists as a solvate with chloro-benzene, C42H28O6·C6H5Cl. The fluorenonophane contains two fluorenone fragments linked by two m-substituted benzene fragments. Some decrease in its macrocyclic cavity leads to a stacking inter-action between the tricyclic fluorenone fragments. In the crystal, the fluorenonophane and chloro-benzene mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯π(ring) inter-actions and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The Cl atom of chloro-benzene does not form a halogen bond. A Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were used to analyse the inter-molecular contacts found in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound, C23H14F6S2, was crystallized from a PMMA/chloroform solution ( PMMA = polymethylmethacrylate), and its crystal structure was determined. The molecule adopts a photoactive antiparallel conformation. The distance between the two reactive C atoms was determined to be 3.560 (7) Angstrom. The molecule has crystallographic twofold rotation symmetry.
