Research on Wide Range Output LED Driver Based on LLC Topology

Abstract:In medium power DC/DC converter application,half-bridge LLC resonant converter is the best choice.However,it is usually used in constant voltage output application.As for the DC/DC part in high efficiency LED driver,this paper proposes a new design methodology which is suitable for wide range output application.Design process,analysis and optimization of design parameters are also presented.According to the proposed design method,a 140 W prototype is designed.After optimization,the efficiency throughout all voltage range can be achieved above 95.5%.The experimental results show that the half-bridge LLC can be a good topology choice for LED driver,it can achieve high efficiency throughout all load range.
