The correlation of learning deterrent and learning satisfaction among part-time nursing students in master programs

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of learning deterrent and learning satisfaction among part-time nursing students in master programs,and to analyze the correlation between them.Methods Totally 190 part-time nursing students in master programs were investigated with Deterrent to Participation Scale-General(DPS-G) and Learning Satisfaction Scale.The correlation between learning deterrent and learning satisfaction was analyzed using a Pearson correlation analysis.Results The overall average score of the learning deterrent was 2.78±0.41;the overall average score of the learning satisfaction was 3.60±0.50.They were negatively correlated with each other(r=-0.353,P<0.01).Conclusions The part-time nursing students in master programs have certain level of learning deterrent.Their learning satisfaction needs to be enhanced.There is a low to medium negative correlation between learning deterrent and learning satisfaction.Measures should be carried out to reduce the students' learning deterrent and to further improve their learning satisfaction.
