Abstract:The title compound, [Ti(C23H15)Cl-3], has the triphenyl-substituted cyclopentadiene ring pi-bonded to the TiCl3 fragment. The phenyl rings subtend dihedral angles in the range 10.8 (2)-40.2 (3)degrees with the cyclopentadiene ring.

Abstract:New substituted cyclopentadienyl titanium complexes, Cp'TiCl2 (1), Cp'CpTiCl2 (2) and Cp'TiCl3 (3) (Cp'=(2-methoxyethyl)cyclopentadienyl) have been synthesized; complexes (1) and (3) have been studied by x-ray diffraction. Complex (1) forms red-plate crytals which belong to the monoclinic space group p21/a with unit cell parameters:a 11.431(1),b 7.116(1),c 21.13514 Å, β 99.50(1)°, V=1695.5(4)Å3 and Z=4. The structure of (1) is refined to the final R of 0.044 for 1833 soserved reflections. The orange octahedral crystals of (3) are monoclinic, space group P21/c with unit cell paranreters:a 7.896(2),b 11.015(5),c 25.213(6)Å, β 92.13(2)°, V=2192(1) Å3 and Z=8. Refinement for 1714 observed reflections gives the final R of 0.090. The crystal sinceture of (3) shows that the ethereal oxygen atom in the side chain on the Cp ring coordinates with the ratenum atom to form a chelate ring.

Abstract:The title compound, C34H28Cl2O2, was synthesized by the self-coupling reaction of 2-(4-chlorobenzyl)-1-tetralone induced by low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl4/Zn) in tetrahydrofuran. The X-ray analysis reveals that the two cyclohexenone rings adopt different conformations, viz. envelope and distorted half-chair.

Abstract:New chiral cyclopentadienyl-titanium and-zirconium complexes Cp′2TiCl2, Cp′CpTiCl2 and Cp′2ZrCl2 (Cp=η5 -cyclopentadienyl and Cp′=substituted cyclopentadienyl), have been synthesized. The (S,S)-3 complex, which forms red plate crystals, has been studied by x-ray analysis. It belongs to the monoclinic space groupC2, witha 23.963(3),b 6.6470(6),c 12.6618(9) Å, β103.089(7)°, V=1964.4(3) Å3 and Z=4. The structure was relined to an R factor of 0.048 for 868 observed reflections.

Abstract:The title complex, [Y2(C6H7)4(C3H7O)2], is a centrosymmetric dimer bridged through the O atoms of the isopropoxide ligands. The Y2O2 unit is planar and the geometry around the eight-coordinate Y atom is distorted pseudo-tetrahedral. The Y—O distances are 2.2228 (19) and 2.2432 (19) Å, and the O—Y—O angle is 74.86 (7)°.

Abstract:Twelve new chiral cyclopentadienyl-titanium or -zirconium complexes Cp′2TiCl2, Cp′CpTiCl2 and Cp′2ZrCl2, (Cp = η5-cyclopentadienyl and Cp′ = CH3OCH(R′) CH(R′')Cp), have been synthesized. Complex (R,R)-1 have been studied by X-ray analysis. The complex (R,R)-1 forms violet-red plate crystals, which are triclinic, space group P1, with a 6.775(3), b 6.792(4), c 35.517(22) Å, α 89.94(5), β90.05(4), γ 119.98(4)°, V 1415(1) Å3, Z = 3. The structure was refined to an R factor of 0.039 for 3142 observed reflections. The complex (R,R-3 forms colorless plate crystals, and is isomorphous with (R,R)-1, a 6.8295(6), b 6.8301(6), c 35.940(2) Å, α 89.990(7), β 90.011(7), γ 119.997(6)°, V 1541.9(2) Å3. The final R factor is 0.065 for 2608 observed reflections.

Abstract:The synthesis and structure of phenol groups containing ligand 2-[(cyclopentadienyl-phenyl)-methyl]phenol(CpH-PhCH-PhOH) were described. H Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to show existence of ligand precursor in isomers of the group. Me3SiCp-PhCH-PhOSiMe3 was formed via treatment of 2 mol Me3SiCl with the dilithium salt of the ligand. New Ti compound [η+5, η1-C5H4-PhCH-PhO]TiCl2 was formed by reacting with titanium chloride.

Abstract:The crystal and molecular structures of (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ) have been determined from single-crystal, X-ray diffraotion data collected by counter methods. Compound (Ⅰ) crystallizes inthe monoclinic space group C 2/c with a=19.618(11) ?, b=9.356(4) ?, c=15.985(8) ?,β=128.84 (3)°, Z=4. The molecule possesses C_2 point symmetry. Compound (Ⅱ) erystallizesin the monoclinic space group P 2_1/a with a=8.329(2) ?, b=36.509(13) ?, c=10.647(4)?, β=96.04(2)°, Z=4. The oxo-bridge links two [Cp_2Zr(OC_6H_4Cl-p)] units together withthe bond angle Zr-O-Zr of 161.1(9)°. The relatively shorter Zr-O bond lengths show the pre-sence of partial double-bond character. Both Ti and Zr atoms have d° electronic configura-tion in (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ). The M-O bonds of the two compounds are discussed.
