Abstract:The title complex, [Ni(C4H4O4S)(C3H4N2)3](H2O)-H-., displays a distorted octahedral NiN3O2S coordination geometry, formed by three imidazole ( imid) ligands and one thiodiacetate dianion. The Ni-II atom is displaced from one of the imid planes, and the angle between the corresponding Ni-N bond and the imid plane is 21.94 (19)degrees. This spatial orientation is stabilized by an intermolecular C-H-...pi interaction between one imid ligand and the C-H bond of an adjacent imid ligand.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, C6H8N4S22+.-2C(6)H(7)N(4)S(2)(+.)4C(7)H(4)NO(4)(-), comprises diprotonated diaminobithiazole (DABT) dications located on inversion centers, monoprotonated DABT cations and nitrobenzoate anions. The relatively short C - N( amino) bond distances, ranging from 1.310 (2) to 1.350 (2) angstrom, indicate electron delocalization between the amino groups and thiazole rings. Intermolecular N - H (...) O and N - H (...) N hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Zn(C6H4NO2)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(3)](2)(C6H4NO2)(2)center dot[Zn(C6H4NO2)(2)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)(2)]center dot 4H(2)O, consists of four discrete components. In the neutral complex the Zn ion is located on a crystallographic twofold axis. The two thiazole rings of the diaminobithiazole ligand are twisted with respect to each other [dihedral angle = 13.85 (9)degrees] in the neutral complex but are coplanar [dihedral angle = 3.54 (15)degrees] in the cationic complex. pi-pi stacking is observed between nearly parallel pyridine rings.

The Ni-II complex has an octahedral coordination, with the isothiocyanate and methanol ligands in cis positions. The diaminobithiazole ligands are each nearly planar, but the Ni-II atom is out of the planes of the thiazole rings, the deviations ranging from 0.113 (5) to 0.389 (4) Angstrom.

Abstract:The title complex, [Cu3(C9H8BrNO4S)2(C7H4BrO2)2(C10H8N2)2]·H2O, lies on an inversion center located on the central Cu atom, which is four-coordinated in a square-planar geometry, whereas the outer Cu atoms related by symmetry are five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The trinuclear mol-ecules, with an intramolecular Cu⋯Cu separation of 6.313 (3) Å, are linked to each other, forming a chain through O - H⋯O and O - H⋯Br hydrogen bonds involving the half-occupied water mol-ecule. Futhermore, weak C - H⋯O inter-actions link the chains to form a supra-molecular network.

Abstract:The title compound, [Co(C12H8N2)(3)](C4H2O4)(0.5)(C4H3O4).-1.5C(4)H(4)O(4).4H(2)O, consists of the cobalt(II) complex cation with phenanthroline (phen), half a fumarate dianion, a fumarate monoanion, one and a half fumaric acid molecule and uncoordinated water molecules. The separations of 3.342 (8) and 3.493 (15) Angstrom between the phen rings related by inversion centers indicate the existence of pi-pi-stacking interactions between the neighboring complex ions. These complex molecules assemble as hydrophobic layers via pi-pi stacking. Fumarate, fumaric acid and water are linked to each other to form hydrophilic layers by hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title cobalt (III) complex, [Co(C9H6NO)(3)].CH3OH, features three 8-quinolinolate ligands that chelate the cobalt(III) atom with an octahedral coordination geometry. The methanol solvent molecule is disordered in the structure. The O...O distances 2.726 (7) and 2.871 (8) Angstrom between the quinolinol hydroxyl and disordered methanol suggest the existence of hydrogen bonding. The separation distances of 3.404 (15) and 3.386 (7) Angstrom between parallel quinoline rings indicate pi-pi stacking between neighboring complex molecules.

Abstract:Ten complexes formulated as Ph2SnL, where L is RC6H4C(O)N2CHC6H4O with R = H, p-NO2, p-Cl, p-Br, p-CH3, p-OCH3, o-NH2, m-NO2, m-OCH3, and 3,5-dinitro, have been prepared and were characterized by 1H NMR, IR, and mass spectroscopy and elemental analyses. A single crystal X-ray diffraction study of the complex with R=o-NH2 confirms the molecular structure. The crystals are triclinic, space group P1 with a 9.608(2), b 11.826(4), c 21.478(6) Å, α 76.17(2), β 76.53(2), γ 88.91(2)°, V 2302.7(4) Å3, Z = 4, Dc 1.52 g/cm3. The final discrepancy factors are R = 0.050 and Rw = 0.057 for 3129 observed independent reflections. The tin atom has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal coordination. The two SnO bonds of 2.073(6) and 2.116(6) Å, respectively and one SnN bond (of 2.143(7) Å)11The bond distances and anles quoted in the text all refer to the averaged values of two independent molecules. are shorter than those found in related complexes. A comparison of the IR spectra of the ligands with those of the corresponding complexes, reveals that the disappearance of the bands assigned to carbonyl unambiguously confirms that the ligands coordinate with the tin in the enol form.

Abstract:Seven new organotin(IV) compounds containing the carboxylate ligand (Z)-3-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-phenyl-2-propenoate (L) have been synthesized with formulations of R2SnL2 (R = Me, Et, n-Bu, n-Oct) and R3SnL, (R = Me, n-Bu, Ph). All compounds have been studied in solution by multinuclear (H-1, C-13, Sn-119) magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The solid-state structures have been investigated by means of FT-IR spectroscopy and the molecular structure of one example, namely n-Bu3SnL, has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The novel structure of n-Bu3SnL is tetrameric owing to the presence of bidentate bridging carboxylate ligands. The solution studies show collapse of the intermolecular interactions observed in the solid state to yield monomeric species. Abstract:The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)Cl3(C12H8N2)], which was obtained by the reaction between 1,10-phenanthroline and phenyl-tin trichloride in methanol, exhibits intra-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the chlorine and hydrogen atoms. Crystal cohesion is ensured by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, as well as Y-X⋯π and π-stacking inter-actions involving three different aromatic rings with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6605 (13), 3.9327 (14) and 3.6938 (12) Å]. Hirshfeld surface analysis and the associated two-dimensional fingerprint plots reveal significant contributions from H⋯H (30.7%), Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl (32.4%), and C⋯H/H⋯C (24.0%) contacts to the crystal packing while the C⋯C (6.2%), C⋯Cl/Cl⋯C (4.1%), and N⋯H/H⋯N (1.7%) inter-actions make smaller contributions.

Abstract:A 1: 1 reaction of triphenyltin chloride with potassium N-[(3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)methylene] valinate in benzene under reflux leads to the formation of a novel mixed organotin binuclear complex, Ph3Sn(HL)center dot Ph2SnL [L = 3,5-Br-2-2-OC6H2CH = NCH(i-Pr)COO], by means of a facile phenyl-tin bond cleavage process. The X-ray structure reveals that there are two distinct types of carboxylate coordination mode and tranS-O2SnC2N and tranS-O2SnC3 in distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries. Abstract:In the title compound, [Sn(CH3)(2)(C15H12N4O2S)], there are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit which have almost identical geometries. It is a pentacoordinated Sn-IV complex, with distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. 1,5-Bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene) thiocarbonohydrazide acts as a tridentate ligand, coordinating through the deprotonated phenolate O atom, imino N atom and thiolate S atom. Strong intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of dimers; the dimers are held together by van der Waals forces.

Abstract:A new organotin/Schiff-base complex C 28 H 31 Cl 3 NO 4 Sn (1) was synthesized by the reaction of β-butoxycarbonylethyltin trichlorides (2) with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthalidene-4-methoxyaniline (3) in the presence of benzene, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, and elemental analysis. Yellow rectangular rods of the title complex crystallize as a benzene solvate of formula C 28 H 31 Cl 3 NO 4 Sn (1) in the triclinic space group P-1. The unit cell has a = 9.274(3) Å, b = 13.066(2) Å, c = 13.579(3) Å, α = 69.463(12)°, β = 89.04(2)°, γ = 73.36(2)°, and Z = 2. It is found that atom H riding on phenolic O in free ligand (3) has transferred to imine atom N due to the coordination of phenolic O with Sn after the complex formation, while an intromolecular hydrogen bond still exists between phenolic O and N (N...O, 2.572(3) Å). Sn is coordinated by three chloride atoms, one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms, resulting in a distorted octahedra.
