Numerical Prediction for Performance of Centrifugal Fans under Off-design Operation

Abstract:According to the four commercial centrifugal fans,this paper gives the numerical prediction and the comparison of experimental data to aerodynamic performance with off-design operation using RNG κ-ε and standard κ-ε model respectively,and analyzes the separate flow in blade channels.The result demonstrates the RNG κ-ε can be used well for the numerical prediction of performance in the "high efficiency area" of the off-design operation,while the standard κ-ε model can be used only under the off-design operation which deviates from the design flow rate about ±15%.
