Isolation and Identification of Flavonoids and Phenolic Constituents from Selaginella Uncinata (desv.) Spring

Abstract:Objective To study the flavonoids and phenolic constituents from Selaginella uncinata(Desv.) Spring.Methods 60% ethanol extract of the Selaginella uncinata(Desv.) Spring was extracted by the ethyl acetate and n-butanol.The compounds were isolated by means of chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 column,ODS column,and preparative RP-HPLC from the ethyl acetate extract.The structures of the compounds were identified by spectroscopic analysis.Results Four phenolic compounds were isolated as(2S) 2,3-dihydroisocryptomerin(I),apigenin(II),3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxypropiophenone(III) and ferulic acid(IV).Conclusion Compounds III and IV were obtained from the genus for the first time,and compounds I and II were isolated from this plant for the first time.
