Abstract:In this Letter, we discuss discrete-time analogue of a continuous-time cellular neural network. Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of a unique almost periodic sequence solution which is globally attractive. Our results demonstrate dynamics of the formulated discrete-time analogue as mathematical models for the continuous-time cellular neural network in almost periodic case. Finally, a computer simulation illustrates the suitability of our discrete-time analogue as numerical algorithms in simulating the continuous-time cellular neural network conveniently.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the convergence dynamics of 2(N) almost periodic encoded patterns of general neural networks subjected to external almost periodic stimuli, including almost periodic delays. Invariant regions are established for the existence of 2(N) almost periodic encoded patterns under two classes of activation functions. By employing the property of M-cone and inequality technique, attracting basins are estimated and some criteria are derived for the networks to converge exponentially toward 2(N) almost periodic encoded patterns. The results obtained are new; they extend and generalize the corresponding results existing in the previous literature. Copyright (C) 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:We discuss both the existence and the uniqueness of a periodic solution of second continuous delayed Hopfield neural networks in which all activation functions are nonsmooth. A sufficient criteria is found for both the existence and the uniqueness of ω-periodic solution of the class of the above networks when its each input function is a ω-periodic function. At same time, we obtain also a critera for each solution converges global exponentially to this ω-periodic solution. As a special case, similar results are obtained for the corresponding one-order Hopfield neural networks.

Abstract:Qualitative property for a class of the delayed Cohen–Grossberg neural network with high-order terms is investigated in the paper. Periodic solution is rigorously proved to be exist in this class of models by means of the Gains and Mawhin’s continuation theorem. In addition, sufficient conditions are established for both global exponential and asymptotical stability of the existent periodic solution with the aid of the Lyapunov functional and the theory of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Finally, two examples with their numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the possible application of our criteria.

Abstract:This paper investigates the problem of exponential stability and periodicity for a class of delayed cellular neural networks (DCNN's). By dividing the network state variables into subgroups according to the characters of the neural networks, some sufficient conditions for exponential stability and periodicity are derived via constructing Lyapunov functional. Those conditions suitable are associated with some initial value and are represented by some blocks of the interconnection matrix. Two examples are discussed to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:Without assuming the boundedness,continuous,derivation of the active functions and the boundedness of the mean time-delay,the existence of a class of neural networks' periodic solution involving distributed delays with periodic inputs is obtained by using the theory of coincidence degree and the knowledge of Dini derivative,when the active functions satisfy the Lipchitz condition and the relations of the interconneetion matrix is an M-matrix.Meanwhile, under the same conditions,the global exponential stability of neural networks' periodic solution is obtained by employing Dini derivative and the analysis technique of inequality.Some existing conclusions are improved,extended and complemented.An example is also worked out to demonstrate the advantages of these results.

Abstract:We consider a delayed differential system that models a network of three neurons with memory. Using a global Hopf bifurcation theorem for FDE due to J. Wu and a Bendixson’s criterion for high-dimensional ODE due to Li and Muldowney, we obtain a group of sufficient conditions for the system to have multiple periodic solutions when the sum of delays is sufficiently large.

Abstract:By employing the continuous theorem from topology and the extended Ha-lanay's inequality, the existence and global exponential stability of periodic solutions for the Hopfield neural network with time-varying delayed are investigated. The algebraic sufficient conditions of periodicity and global exponential stability are presented. The conditions can be examined easily, so it is of practical usage. In additions, earlier results are extended and improved. A computation example is given to illustrate the proposed method.

Abstract:In the current paper, a delayed reaction-diffusion cellular neural networks with both the Dirichlet and Neumann boundary condition is studied. Several sufficient conditions guaranteeing its global exponential stability and the existence of periodic solutions are obtained through analytic methods such as Lyapunov functional and Poincaré mapping. Interestingly, the presented criteria depend on reaction-diffusion terms, which is a preeminent feature that distinguishes our research from the previous. Examples with numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results and method. Copyright © 2010 Watam Press.

Abstract:The problem of exponential stability and periodicity for a class of cellular neural networks (DCNNs) with time-varying delays is investigated. By dividing the network state variables into subgroups according to the characters of the neural networks, some sufficient conditions for exponential stability and periodicity are derived via the methods of variation parameters and inequality techniques. These conditions are represented by some blocks of the interconnection matrices. Compared with some previous methods, the method used in this paper does not resort to any Lyapunov function, and the results derived in this paper improve and generalize some earlier criteria established in the literature cited therein. Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a class of fuzzy cellular neural networks (FCNN) with transmission delays and variable coefficients. By using Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) and general Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the global exponential stability and the existence of periodic solutions of this model are further studied. Some sufficient conditions are obtained ensuring global exponential stability and the existence of periodic solutions of the FCNN with transmission delays and variable coefficients. Moreover,an example is given to illustrate the feasibility of our results.

Abstract:The time delays in neural networks come from the transformation of the information processing between neurons. To consider delay-induced dynamics in neural networks, the four neurons are coupled to model a called bidirectional associative memory neural network. If the transformation time is distinct in the two direction, then two delays occurs in the model. a simple but efficient method is first introduced and then the delay-induced Hopf bifurcation is investigated and the periodic approximate solution derived from the Hopf bifurcation is obtained analytically. It can be seen that theoretical prediction is in good agreement with the result from the numerical simulation, which shows that the provided method is valid. The results show also that the method has higher accuracy than the center manifold reduction (CMR) with norm form theory.

Then the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions of the neural networks are discussed in the paper. Moreover, criterion on stability of periodic solutions of the neural networks is obtained by using matrix function inequality, and algorithm for the criterion on the neural networks is provided. Result in the paper generalizes and improves the result in the existing references. In the end, an illustrate example is given to verify our results.

Abstract:In this paper, discrete-time analogues of continuous-time neural networks with continuously distributed delays and periodic inputs are investigated without assuming Lipschitz conditions on the activation functions. The discrete-time analogues are considered to be numerical discretizations of the continuous-time networks and we study their dynamical characteristics. By employing Halanay-type inequality, we obtain easily verifiable sufficient conditions ensuring that every solutions of the discrete-time analogue converge exponentially to the unique periodic solutions. It is shown that the discrete-time analogues inherit the periodicity of the continuous-time networks. The results obtained can be regarded as a generalization to the discontinuous case of previous results established for delayed neural networks possessing smooth neuron activation.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the delayed cellular neural networks (DCNNs) in the case that the time-varying delays are unbounded. Under some conditions, it shows that the DCNNs can exhibit 3n equilibrium points. Then, we track the dynamics of u(t)(t>0) in two cases with respect to different types of subset regions in which u(0) is located. It concludes that every solution trajectory u(t) would converge to one of the equilibrium points despite the time-varying delays, that is, the delayed cellular neural networks are completely stable. The method is novel and the results obtained extend the existing ones. In addition, two illustrative examples are presented to verify the effectiveness of our results.
