Simultaneous Determination of Gentiopicrin and Baicalin in Erlong Capsules by HPLC

Abstract:Objective To establish an HPLC method to simultaneously determine the contents of gentiopicrin and baicalin in Erlong capsules.Methods The analysis was performed on a Dikma ODS C18 column(Dikma Inc.;200 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) with gradient elution of methanol and 0.2% phosphoric acid at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1.The UV detection wavelength was 270 nm and the column temperature was set at 30 ℃.Results The linear ranges were 0.01165-0.1745 μg(r=0.9999,n=5)for gentiopicrin and 0.10072-1.5108 μg(r=0.9999,n=5) for baicalin.The average recoveries of gentiopicrin and baicalin were 97.5% and 98.2%(n=6),respectively.Conclusion The method is simple,rapid and accurate,which is suitable for quality control of Erlong capsules.
