Abstract:This paper presented the work of dissertation collection with a topic on school library and reading from the database of PQDT.A statistical analysis has been conducted,including chronological distribution,degree types,universities,and subjects,summarizing the developments on school library and reading,analyzing its characteristics,and moreover identifying outcomes of school library and reading from a deeper perspective.

Abstract:The translation and research of Chinese foreign literature have a rich and distinguished history that spans over a century, yielding numerous and substantial achievements. These research outcomes for thoroughly synthesized and scientific analyses can provide authoritative and accurate guidance for foreign literature translation and research, highlighting the significance of the China Foreign Literature Studies Index (CFLSI) database. This article focuses on three issues encountered in database development. 1) An examination of the limitations of existing public network resources based on the unique nature of the foreign literature discipline, thereby establishing the necessity for the creation of a discipline-specific database; 2) An exploration of the composition, functional design, and implementation approaches of the CFLSI database in response to the requirements of foreign literature researchers; 3) The establishment of the database framework and development technology of the system aligned with the data composition and functional design. The creation of the CFLSI database represents an exploration and application to merge digital technology with a comprehensive understanding of the foreign literature discipline.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to map the intellectual structure of research in doctoral dissertations of Library and Information Science in China. By use of Co-word analysis, including cluster analysis, strategic diagram and social network analysis, we studied the internal and external structure and relationship of research fields in doctoral dissertations of Library and Information Science in China. Data was collected, during the period of 1994–2011, from six public dissertation databases and ten degree databases provided by the universities/institutes which have been authorized to grant doctoral degrees of Library and Information Science in China. The results show that Wuhan University is the most important institution of doctoral education in LIS in China. The focuses of researches, including information resource, ontology, semantic web, semantic search, electronic government, information resource management, knowledge management, knowledge innovation, knowledge sharing, knowledge organization, network, information service, information need and digital library. The research fields of LIS doctoral dissertations in China are varied. Many of these research fields are still immature; accordingly, the well-developed and core research fields are fewer.

Abstract:Previous studies have presented a radical change in library and information science research topics in North America. This article investigates library and information science doctoral dissertations in China in terms of their topics and interdisciplinarity in the past 20 years. The results do not find a significant change in library and information science dissertation topics in China but reveal that the increase of library and information science doctoral research in the area of information science is attributed to an increase in admissions to Information Science majors compared to other majors (Library Science and Archive Studies). This study also shows that the academic background of library and information science doctoral advisors does not affect the interdisciplinarity of their students’ doctoral dissertations in China.

Abstract:Choosing Chinese and foreign representative databases as the information sources, which are the full-text database of Chinese journals on the web of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Web of Science on ISI Web of Knowledge and the famous engineering database Science Abstract (INSPEC), the paper does statistical, clustering, comparative analyses of digital library researches in the latest 30 years both domestically and abroad on five factors, which are time distribution, theme, author, periodical distribution and cited references of English literature, and conducts comparative research. Based on the comparative analyses of domestic and foreign literature, the paper explains the differences on capital, technology and human resources between China and abroad, trying to point out the problems concerning domestic researches and put forward some measures to solve them, in order to provide statistical and theoretical supports for promoting the sound development of domestic digital library.

Abstract:The present paper uses algorithms such as the keyword ordered clustering, keyword co-occurrence clustering and literature co-citation analysis to make a bibliometric study of the literature on the digital library in the latest 12 years obtained by searching the Web of Science. It finds that the research on the digital library has gone through three stages of development and elaborates on the characteristics of these stages. Such a bibliometric overview will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the features and trends of the research in this field.

Abstract:By means of CSSCI,the key words in theses on digital library from 2000 to 2009 have been counted and analyzed with cluster analysis method.Result indicates that domestic studies on digital library fall into six hot topics: development and sharing of resources,digital library services,information storage and organization,intellectual property right and laws,library construction and essential technology of digital library.The analysis of the key words contributes to making the following conclusion about the features and trend in the field of digital library in recent decade: information resource development places more and more importance on resources with unique characteristics;information services put more emphasis on customized services and high-level services;research on intellectual property right returns to the general research field,digital libraries develop synchronously with the latest information technologies,and future digital libraries are facing a possible reconstruction in the cloud computing environment.5 figs.1 tab.12 refs.

Abstract:LDA topic model is used to sort out the evolution of domestic research subject of information service, and provide reference and guidance for sustainable development in this field. Using the CNKI journal database as the information source, the CSSCI journals are searched for the topic of information service, and the non-conformity papers are excluded. A total of 8 908 papers are retrieved and divided into four stages according to the annual literature volume trend. Building an LDA topic model based on TF-IDF, MindMapper is used to draw the subject evolution map to compare and analyze the persistence, weakening, transfer and emerging of the research topic. The results of the model show that since 1998, the main research topics in the field of information services in China include library services, information industry services, resource services and subject services;library service models and information ethics research have gradually weakened and shifted;mobile information services, think tanks data, professional field information, and graph measurement have become hotspots in this field in recent years.

Abstract:Based on the collection of international literatures on digital library from Web of Science,this paper analyzes the Keywords by SPSS20.0 with Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis,and then explores five research topics including virtual technology research,resource organization research,resource construction research,electronic resources and copyright research,and information services research of digital library.Meanwhile,this paper constructs the visualization map of the co-occurrence matrix of research topics and authors by social network analysis and finds the groups of authors on these research topics.

Abstract:Using methods of bibliometrics and the software of RefViz,the history and trends of research, features of high-quality publica-tions and research topics were explored based on the 172 publications of 8 doctorate-granting LIS schools and departments collected from the database of Web of Science (SCI-E, SSCI, A&HCI) from aspects of year distribution of publications, source journals, subjects, fun-ding agencies, titles and abstracts. Results showed that the international scientific research of the 8 doctorate-granting LIS schools and de-partments was still at the initial stage, and the research topics of these publications mainly focused on the development of LIS in China.

Abstract:This paper uses tools of information visualization to analyze the research papers of library science in CSSCI and display the research focuses,knowledge sources,and cooperation of institutions in recent 10 years.The results show that the research focuses include digital libraries,academic libraries,public libraries,information resources,information services,knowledge management,etc;the knowledge sources come from the books/papers of basic theory research,cataloging and classification;the cooperation can be only found in a small number of institutions,with low whole tightness and some geopolitical features.
