Abstract:The Handbook for Members of Tian Di Hui,or Heaven Earth League,a key material for study of the history of Chinese secret societies,not only conceals information about the origin of Tian Di Hui,but also,more importantly,records large amount of knowledge and experience that the grass-roots groups who dissociated from the mainstream society need when they wanda in the wide world and tried to build social networks,depicting the life experience and social composition of the grass roots and reflecting some basic distinct features of Chinese traditional social structure from a unique perspective.
