Abstract:According to the National Students Physical Health Standard,this paper has carried out constitutional health examinations among all undergraduate students of Tsinghua University in the fall semester of 2007 in order to obtain various data that are comprehensive and accurate and understand the current constitutional physical health status of Tsinghua students.All test data has been successfully submitted to the Ministry of Education and the Standard Data Management System of National Students Physical Health which enters the National Database.All test results of each student have been recorded in the Register Card of National Students Physical Health Standard every academic year according to the assessment standard.As a result of this test,we can draw conclusions as follows:the performances of the undergraduate students of Tsinghua University are too low,with an average less than 70 points;the excellence rate is 32% and the failure rate is 25%;the present physical quality situation of Tsinghua undergraduate students is not optimistic because the height and weight index,the vital capacity and weight index,the cardiovascular endurance and the upper body strength are only average,the speed strength and the lower body strength are poor and most indices are very low;the physical quality of 2006 grade students is the best with 2004 grade the worst;female students have better physical quality than male students and therefore male students need more physical exercise.At last,we suggest that the testing work should not only be satisfied with the accomplishment of obtaining and submitting the data,but also keep providing omnibearing surveillances and directions for the physical health of students.Some of the problems and hidden dangers that exist in fitness can be effectively solved by regular constitutional examination and we can also provide scientific and quantitative guidance on physical exercise,physical therapy and rehabilitation,and the practice of physical prescription for the students.
