The Preparation of Anodic Aluminum Oxide Ceramic Template and the Fabrication of Silver Nanowires

Abstract:With the intensive research in the nanomaterials, many methods including various physical or chemical technics have been developed. Among these methods, the template method has been the most important way to get nanoscale metal, ceramic and semiconductor. In this paper, the seff-organized anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) ceramic templates were prepared, which provided a hexagonally ordered channel array to grow metal nanowires with uniform diameter. The ceramic template was anodized in H2SO4 and the Ag nanowires were fabricated by AC electrochemical deposition technique. The crystal structure of nanowires was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and its morphology was showed in the images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical properties of the composite film, which were constructed by the ceramic template and nanowires, were got by UV-visible spectrometer. We also analyzed the relation between nanowires' shape and their growth condition.
