Metaphysics, Refining of Self and Refining of Others, Moral Norms, and Value

Abstract:This paper can be seen as the response to the comments to my idea of "concrete metaphysics". Those comments were issued in the conference which was held in May, 2011. The contents of this paper include metaphysics, the relation between "refining of self and refining of others", the ground of moral norms, the objectivity of knowledge, the connection between value and being, and other issues. It clarifies the idea of concrete metaphysics by confirming the unity of "refining of self and refining of others" and argues that the foundation of moral norms can be found in the social relationships among people. Regarding the objectivity of knowledge, the author mainly associates it with the sources of knowledge, the limitation of knowing and the function of guidance of knowing. As for the connection between value and being, the author emphasizes that they can not be separated from each other.
