Research on the compensation for the land-loss peasants on the perspective of welfare economics

Abstract:From the perspective of welfare economics,we conduct theoretical analysis on the compensation problems on the land-loss peasants emerging in recent years,make comparison on the land-loss peasants with different levels of land reliance from three sample villages from various aspects(e.g.,satisfaction for the government compensation policy,employment conditions after the peasants become town people,their adaptability to city,and the recognition on their self identity,etc.),and carry out systematic researches on the changes in welfare after the land-loss peasants become town people in different economic development regions.We hold that the government should solve the living problem by compensation after the peasants lose their land,but what is more important is that it should consider the development of the land-loss peasants from a more broad welfare perspective.The compensation problem of the land-loss peasants should be incorporated in the whole perspective of improving the peasants' welfare.
