Abstract:Liu xizai is a famous writer in literary criticism in late Qing Dynasty,whose book The Sum of Literature gives a high and correct evaluation of Li bai's poems and is quite creative.This is exhibited in these aspects: the origin of Li bai 's poems can be traced back to Zhuang and Sao;Li bai had great ambitions and wanted to assist a ruler in governing a country,but his poems often represent the opposition;his words have proper limits in essence;Li bai's poems have elegant content and rhythm and besides,he often has Promethean verses.

Abstract:Through the historic records,the writing of the fivecharacter poems in Han Dynasty,the study of Zhong Rong and Liu Xie's points and a comparison with The Ancient Nineteen Poems,this paper makes research on the poems under the name of Li Ling in Wen Xuan,and concludes that the author of the three poems in Wen Xuan should be Li Ling.

Abstract:Materials related to Zhong Rong's Shi Pin recorded in Liu Shanjing's works such as Si Sheng Zhi Gui,Liang Shu·Zhong Rong Zhuan,Nan Shi,A biography of Zhong Rong,A biograhy of Qiuchi and Nan Shi are much more valuable compared to Shi Pin published after the Song and Yuan Dynasties,among which a whole Preface to Shi Pin recorded in Liang Shu·Zhong Rong Zhuan is of more research value.However,in the actual research in Shi Pin,editions published later are often used to criticize the materials recorded in the early period of Sui and Tang Dynasties for their errors,which is a case of confusing truth and falsehood.And this should arouse people's attention to the materials about Shi Pin recorded in Sui and Tang Dynasties.The author hopes that the research level of ancient chinese poetry criticism masterpieces can be improved on the basis of being close to the original bibliography about Shi Pin.
On the Qu Yuan Complex of Those Poets in the Mid-Tang Dynasty Relegated to Southern China

Abstract:Those poets relegated to southern China in the Mid-Tang Dynasty all showed a Qu Yuan complex in their poems.For example,under the influence of Qu Yuan's poems,such as LI SAO and JIU GE,Liu Yuxi and Liu Zongyuan expressed primarily a spirit of complaint and fury while the more rational Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi both accepted Qu Yuan's character of loyalty and uprightness but refused to follow his will of consistence.In contrast,Han Yu and Li Shen expressed their complaint about innocent mistreatment by comparing their experience to Qu Yuan's miserable treatment.The Qu Yuan complex of the poets relegated in the Early and Prosperous Tang Dynasty was the very source of that of the relegated poets in the Mid-Tang Dynasty.In general,the former was rational while the latter was sentimental but more tragic than the former.

Abstract:He Zhuo was a commentator in early Qing dynasty.This paper studies his poem criticism,taking Li Shangyin's poems as example.For him,criticism was academic reach exactly.He connected textual research and criticism,which guided a new way of criticism.And he fabricated his poem theory by criticism,overmatch criticism in Ming dynasty which was just the emotion in the reading.What's more his criticism had academic value because he commented on the base of textual research.So his criticism had great academic and poetic value.

Abstract:In his manuscript Rong An Guan Zha Ji,Qian Zhongshu offers harsh criticism upon Xu Yueqing,the Neo-Confucian poet of the late Song dynasty.His critical remarks contain abundant poetic thoughts.With reference to the interrelated contents in Tan Yi Lu,Song shi Xuan zhu and Guan zhui Bian,we can interpretate the connotation of Mr.Qian's remarks.Meanwhile,we should also probe into Mr.Qian's brilliant views on the relationship among Neo-Confucianism,moral integrity,and the poetry of the late Song dynasty,and thus reexamine the position of such elements as Neo-Confucianism and moral integrity in Mr.Qian's poetry evaluation system.

Abstract:Gu Sili,one of the ＂fifteen gifted scholars in the south of Yangtze river＂,has written extensively.His book,Selected Poems of Yuan Dynasty,is a precious masterpiece of literature.The study of Gu Sili not only helps to comprehend Qing people＇s concept of Yuan poems,but contributes to the understanding of the transition of Qing poems from the early period to the middle and late periods.For this reason,in recent years,researchers turn to study Gu Sili.This paper makes a summary of the related studies of Gu Sili,and sums up their significance.Furthermore,some suggestions are offered in the expectation to promote the future studies of Gu Sili.

Abstract:It is unjustified to attribute all 29 Poetic s bamboo slips in Shanghai Museum to Confucius, for they consist of both Confucius' doctrine and that of his disciples. Most probably Zi Gao should be th e disciple who expounds Poetry. The other disciples after Zi Gao m ay propagate Confucius' and Zi Gao's doctrines on Poetry. After Confucius, many scholars of pre-Qin days transmit Poetry, with Zi Gao and his disciples included.

Abstract:Poetics was compiled by Confucius'disciples who have attended his lectures on Poetry. Most prob ably it should be Zi Xia according to relative reference books. Dwelling upon th is problem now, one can discern that though there is ideological inheritance amo ng Poetics, Preface to Poetry, and Mao Zhuan , there is considerable difference, especially regarding to Guan Ju and other six articles. Instead of being written by Zi Xia himself,Preface to Poetry is the product of the systematic research on Poetry starting from Zi Xia. Nevertheless, both Preface to Poetry and Mao Zhuan represent similarities with Poetics, which is of great importance for us to recognize the inh eritance of Poetics study.

Abstract:Maturity of literary creation embodies in the conscientious grasp of the relation of return and change and it also determines the literary position of the author in history. GONG Zi-zhen is not placed properly in poetic history due to the lack of study on his regard of relation of return and change. His entire academic articles show his opposition to contemporary trend and his support of an?cient tradition and his poem is opposed to Shengping style of Qing Dynasty. His subjective orienta?tion in poetics transcends that of Ming and Qing Dynasty and even partly that of Tang and Song Dy?nasty and becomes a return to Han and Wei and the Six Dynasties till that in The Book of Songs and LiSao. Under this artistic guidance, GONG innovates in style, meter and methods of his poems and in other word, turns the ancient to innovative.

Abstract:The misunderstanding of Yang Xiong(53 B.C.-18) on the crition of fu(verse-style prose),i.e.,A poet's fu must observe the principle of beauty.,and his mistakes in criticism,reflect the deviation of theories on the genre from its writing practice during the Han dynasty(202 B.C.-220).Yang's writing pattern as shown in his four famous works of fu,characterized by satire via eulogy,is further proof of the embarrassment faced by theories of fu in practice.Yang's failure in writing and his mistakes in criticism resulted from his theories are the embodiment of the poetic and educational points of view of Confucianism in the theory and practice of fu writing,heralding the historical turn of the genre to aesthetics later.

Abstract:Based on Shi Shuo Xin Yu, which is stored in Shanghai Library, this paper cites the related documents and investigates the cause and process of Ling Menchu's inscriptions and criticisms on the classical novel. The paper also analyses the characteristics and significance of his 155 commentaries. And according to the research, the author expounds the importance of the criticism of stories and novels written in classical Chinese for the study of criticism of ancient fiction.

Abstract:This paper discusses some variant characters in the remarks affiliated to Sui(Hexagram 17 in current version), Wu Wang(Hexagram 25), Xian(Hexagram 31), and Heng(Hexagram 32) in the Zhouyicopied on the bamboo slips of Chu, and raises new interpretations to the remarks attached to the top line of Sui, those to the hexagram Wu Wang, as well as the remarks to its second and fifth lines, remarks to the initial and top lines of hexagram Heng. This discussion is of fundamental significance to the studies of the Text ofZhouyi.

Abstract:As a well-known poet from Fujian province between the Yuan and Ming Dynasties and an influential civil official at the grand council and ministry level both in the two imperial courts,occupied a comparatively important position in the history of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.With his outstanding achievements in poetry creation,he became the carrier of the poetic style of the imperial courts and at the same time the initiator of the Fujian poetry of the Ming Dynasty.Nevertheless,studies of such a poet have been relatively weak up till now so that the basic historical facts about his life and creation have not been straightened.When his poetry creation is investigated,Zhang's creation course can be divided into 4 stages,in line with which,the mentality,style and development process of his poetry creation can be grasped.
A Study on Liu Kezhuang’s Poems Written in His Later Years

Abstract:Liu Kezhuang (刘克庄 ) wrote about two-thirds of his poems in his later years when his poetic viewpoints and writing skills reached maturity. His poems written during that period could better represent the individual style he had intentionally pursed. By focusing on three groups of keywords,i. e. 7-character regulated poems,countryside life and group poems,this paper analyzes several groups of poems written in the imitated Liu Kezhuang's Style( 效后村体) and thus illustrates that both the writing of responsory poems in a leisurely way and the form of group poems played an important role in forming Liu's poetic style during his later years,and also shows that his poetic style was perfectly in match with his lifestyle during his later years. In addition,this paper further shows that Liu had a trend of returning to the Jiangxi Poetic School( 江西诗派) in his later years.

Abstract:A writer of the Mid-Qing Dynasty,Bao Guixing edited his Principles of Fu to correct the style of fu-writing in the Imperial Academy. This book concentrated on fu's sources,root and branch,rhetoric,metrical pattern,structure,etc.,with his special points of view. While choosing and commenting fu,he emphasized not only the metrical pattern,but the prose style of "Tongcheng School" as well. He appreciated the sublime style of fu-writing,demonstrating his reflection and rectification of the decadent style long-prevailed in the composition of rhythmic fu,which was used in the Imperial Examinations.
