Purification of Papermaking Wastewater with Potassium Ferrate and Polyferric Sulfate

Abstract:Potassium ferrate and polyferric sulfate is an excellent treatment agent to papermaking wastewater in which pH is 7.53, COD is 2 825 mg·L^-1, BOD is 4863 mg·L^-1, turbidity is 800 NTU and chroma is 80. And when the amounts of potassium ferrate were 15 mg·L^-1, polyferric sulfate were 50 mg·L^-1, the removal rate of COD is 92.01%, BOD is 94.14%, turbidity is 95.2% and chroma is 94.3%, and the discharge water has reached the national effluent standards.
