The clinical value of 3-dimensinal reconstruction with 16-slice spiral CT in the diagnosis of urinary diseases

Abstract:Objective To evaluate 3-dimensinal reconstruction with 16-slice spiral CT after enhanced and delayed scan in the diagnosis of urinary diseases.Methods In 28 cases of urinary diseases,16-slice spiral CT plain scan,renal dual phase enhanced scan and delayed urinary scan were performed,respectively.The data of delayed urinary scan were 3-dimensinally reconstructed with post-processing technique by CT scan.Stereopictures of the whole urinary system,including renal calyx,renal pelvis,ureter and urinary bladder,were clearly demonstrated in all the cases.Results The 16-slice spiral CT delayed urography showed clearly the course of the urinary system,obstructed position and the lesions.In the 28 cases,12 of congenital variants and deformities(5 of duplex renal pelvis and ureter,2 of abnormal position of kidney,2 of megaureter and 3 of posterior ureter of vena cava),8 of urinary calculi and 8 of urinary tumors were diagnosed,and all were confirmed by surgical and pathological findings.The coincidence rate of CT scan and clinical diagnosis was 100%.Conclusions The 16-slice spiral CT enhanced and delayed urography is a safe,reliable,convenient and super high-speed technique.It may provide high-resolution urinary tract pictures and will be a non-invasive imaging method in the diagnosis of urinary diseases.
