On the Current Situations of Track and Field Coaches in Sport Schools in Shanxi Province

Abstract:With the methodsof literature, expert interviews, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, comprehensive analysis, this article has done the in-depth research and detailed analysis of the current situations of Shanxi Province Track and field sports coaches. And the results show that: 1) age structure of Shanxi Province athletics reserve coaches is reasonable, in which 30-39 year old coaches and 40-49 of the coaches are the main body, respectively accounted for36.1% and 33.3% of total survey; most of coaches hve undergraduate education and there is no postgraduate qualifications;the titles of coaches mostly are the beginning, intermediate, with less advanced title; 2) majority of the Shanxi Province athletics reserve coaches hold the serious and cautious attitude towards the training, but there are still about 19.4% coaches remaining the negative attitude to their work; coaches are very interested in the sports scientific research, but the purpose of most coaches to do the research is for its utility to their own promotion; with the corresponding research capacity, the on-the-job training they took basically could meet the needs of training coaches; however, the frequency of participation of academic exchange activities is lower, with 1/ 3 coaches have not participated in any academic activities, ability of foreign language and computer of coaches is insufficient. This paper can provide relevant information and data for the selection and training of Shanxi Province Track and field sports coaches, thus providing theoretical and practical basis for the further development of Shanxi province sports.
