Abstract:We characterize a nonlinear full invariant of compact Banach-space maps: Let ( X , ‖.‖) and ( Y , ‖.‖) be two Banach spaces and P C ( X , Y ) be all compact maps which map ( X , ‖.‖) to ( Y , ‖.‖). Then each weak operator-topology subseries-convergent series ∑ i P i in P c ( X , Y ) is also uniform-topology subseries-convergent iff each bounded map from ( X , ‖.‖) to ( l 1 , ‖.‖ 1 ) is a compact map. The necessary condition for each weak operator-topology subseries-convergent series ∑ i P i in P C ( X , Y ) to be also uniform-topology subseries-convergent is that ( X , ‖.‖) and ( X ′, ‖.‖) both contain no copy of c 0 . This necessary condition is not sufficient.

Abstract:Bounded Lipschitz-α operators from(X,d)into Z and relative operator spaces are introduced.It is proved that L~α_B(X,Z) and L~α_0(X,Z) are Banach spaces with respect to some norms respectively.It is also shown that L~α_0(X,Z) is isometricly isomorphic to some L~α_B(Y,Z) under certain conditions.

Abstract:Let U and V be Banach spaces, L and N be non-linear operators from U into V. L is said to be Lipschitz if L 1(L) := sup{∥Lx - Ly∥ · ∥x - y∥-1 : x ≠ y} is finite. In this paper, we give some basic properties of Lipschitz operators and then discuss the unique solvability, exact solvability, approximate solvability of the operator equations Lx = y and Lx + Nx = y. Under some conditions we prove the equivalence of these solvabilities. We also give an estimation for the relative-errors of the solutions of these two systems and an application of our method to a non-linear control system.

Abstract:In this work, we prove that a map F from a compact metric space K into a Banach space X over ${\Bbb F}$ is a Lipschitz–α operator if and only if for each σ in X* the map σ∘F is a Lipschitz–α function on K. In the case that K = [a, b], we show that a map f from [a, b] into X is a Lipschitz–1 operator if and only if it is absolutely continuous and the map σ ↦ (σ ∘ f)' is a bounded linear operator from X* into L ∞([a, b]). When K is a compact subset of a finite interval (a, b) and 0 < α ≤ 1, we show that every Lipschitz–α operator f from K into X can be extended as a Lipschitz–α operator F from [a, b] into X with L α (f) ≤ L α (F) ≤ 31−α L α (f). A similar extension theorem for a little Lipschitz–α operator is also obtained.

Abstract:Holub proved that any bounded linear operator T or −T defined on Banach space L1(μ) satisfies Daugavet equation 1 + ∥T ∥ = Max {∥I + T ∥, ∥I −T ∥ }. Holub’s theorem is generalized to the nonlinear case: any nonlinear Lipschitz operatorf defined on Banach space l1 satisfies 1 + L(f) = Max {L(I +f), L(I−f)}, where L(f) is the Lipschitz constant off. The generalized Holub theorem has important applications in characterizing the invertibility of nonlinear operator.

Abstract:We study the existence of continuous (linear) operators from the Banach spaces $\mbox{Lip}_0(M)$ of Lipschitz functions on infinite metric spaces $M$ vanishing at a distinguished point and from their predual spaces $\mathcal{F}(M)$ onto certain Banach spaces, including $C(K)$-spaces and the spaces $c_0$ and $\ell_1$. For pairs of spaces $\mbox{Lip}_0(M)$ and $C(K)$ we prove that if they are endowed with topologies weaker than the norm topology, then usually no continuous (linear or not) surjection exists between those spaces. It is also showed that if a metric space $M$ contains a bilipschitz copy of the unit sphere $S_{c_0}$ of the space $c_0$, then $\mbox{Lip}_0(M)$ admits a continuous operator onto $\ell_1$ and hence onto $c_0$. Using this, we provide several conditions for a space $M$ implying that $\mbox{Lip}_0(M)$ is not a Grothendieck space. Finally, we obtain a new characterization of the Schur property for Lipschitz-free spaces: a space $\mathcal{F}(M)$ has the Schur property if and only if for every discrete metric space $N$ with cardinality $d(M)$ the spaces $\mathcal{F}(M)$ and $\mathcal{F}(N)$ are weakly sequentially homeomorphic.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to introduce linear L-topologies on the space of L-continuous bi-induced linear operators, a characterization of this space in terms of L-fuzzy pseudo-norms is given in the case where its range is a locally convex L-topological vector space. Some interesting properties of this space are discussed.

Abstract:In this paper we present part I of nonlinear operator ideals theory between metric spaces and Banach spaces. Building upon the definition of operator ideal between arbitrary Banach spaces of A. Pietsch we pose three types of nonlinear versions of operator ideals. We introduce several examples of nonlinear ideals and the relationships between them. For every space ideal $\mathsf{A}$ can be generated by a special nonlinear ideal which consists of those Lipschitz operators admitting a factorization through a Banach space $\mathbf{M}\in\mathsf{A}$. We investigate products and quotients of nonlinear ideals. We devote to constructions three types of new nonlinear ideals from given ones. A "new" is a rule defining nonlinear ideals $\mathfrak{A}^{L}_{new}$, $\textswab{A}^{L}_{new}$, and $\textfrak{A}^{L}_{new}$ for every $\mathfrak{A}$, $\textswab{A}^{L}$, and $\textfrak{A}^{L}$ respectively, are called a Lipschitz procedure. Considering the class of all stable objects for a given Lipschitz procedure we obtain nonlinear ideals having special properties. We present the concept of a (strongly) $p-$Banach nonlinear ideal ($0<p<1$) and prove that the nonlinear ideals of Lipschitz nuclear operators, Lipschitz Hilbert operators, products and quotient are strongly $r-$Banach nonlinear ideals ($0<r<1$).

Abstract:Lipschitzian semigroup refers to a one-parameter semigroup of Lipschitz operators that is strongly continuous in the parameter. It contains C-0-semigroup, nonlinear semigroup of contractions and uniformly k-Lipschitzian semigroup as special cases. In this paper, through developing a series of Lipschitz dual notions, we establish an analysis approach to Lipschitzian semigroup. It is mainly proved that a ( nonlinear) Lipschitzian semigroup can be isometrically embedded into a certain C-0-semigroup. As application results, two representation formulas of Lipschitzian semigroup are established, and many asymptotic properties of C-0-semigroup are generalized to Lipschitzian semigroup.

Abstract:AbstractNew spaces of Lipschitz type on metric-measure spaces are introduced and they are shown to be just the well-known Besov spaces or Triebel–Lizorkin spaces when the smooth index is less than 1. These theorems also hold in the setting of spaces of homogeneous type, which include Euclidean spaces, Riemannian manifolds and some self-similar fractals. Moreover, the relationships amongst these Lipschitz-type spaces, Hajłasz–Sobolev spaces, Korevaar–Schoen–Sobolev spaces, Newtonian Sobolev space and Cheeger–Sobolev spaces on metric-measure spaces are clarified, showing that they are the same space with equivalence of norms. Furthermore, a Sobolev embedding theorem, namely that the Lipschitz-type spaces with large orders of smoothness can be embedded in Lipschitz spaces, is proved. For metric-measure spaces with heat kernels, a Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev theorem is establish, and hence it is proved that Lipschitz-type spaces with small orders of smoothness can be embedded in Lebesgue spaces.AMS 2000 Mathematics subject classification: Primary 42B35. Abstract:The extension of the concept of $p-$summability for linear operators to the context of Lipschitz operators on metric spaces has been extensively studied in recent years. This research primarily uses the linearization of the metric space $M$ afforded by the associated Arens-Eells space, along with the duality between $M$ and the metric dual space $M^\#$ defined by the real-valued Lipschitz functions on $M.$ However, alternative approaches to measuring distances between sequences of elements of metric spaces (essentially involved in the definition of $p-$summability) exist. One approach involves considering specific subsets of the unit ball of $M^\#$ for computing the distances between sequences, such as the real Lipschitz functions derived from evaluating the difference of the values of the metric from two points to a fixed point. We introduce new notions of summability for Lipschitz operators involving such functions, which are characterized by integral dominations for those operators. To show the applicability of our results, we use in the last part of the paper the theoretical tools obtained in the first part to the analysis of metric graphs. In particular, we show new results on the behavior of numerical indices defined on these graphs satisfying certain conditions of summability and symmetry.

On the small scale nonlinear theory of operator spaces

Abstract:We initiate the study of the small scale geometry of operator spaces. The authors have previously shown that a map between operator spaces which is completely coarse (that is, the sequence of its amplifications is equi-coarse) must be $\mathbb R$-linear. We obtain a generalization of the aforementioned result to completely coarse maps defined on the unit ball of an operator space. By relaxing the condition to a small scale one, we prove that there are many non-linear examples of maps which are completely Lipshitz in small scale. We define a geometric parameter for homogeneous Hilbertian operator spaces which imposes restrictions on the existence of such maps.

Abstract:In the nonlinear geometry of Banach spaces where the objects in the category are Banach spaces as in the linear case, the morphisms in the new setting are taken to comprise of certain nonlinear maps involving say, Lipschitz maps and, in some cases, uniformly continuous, coarse or coarse Lipschitz mappings arising from the underlying metric or the uniform structure attached to the norm of the Banach space. The question as to what extent the Lipschitz or the uniform structure may be used to capture the full linear structure of a Banach space has been one of the most fundamental problems pertaining to the nonlinear structure of Banach spaces since this line of investigation was undertaken by Lindenstrauss in the late sixties. This line of research which is subsumed under the so called Ribe program broadly underscores the view that metric spaces encode a much deeper and hidden structure than is apparent. It is truly surprising how the linear structure of a Banach space gets captured to a considerable extent by its metric space structure. This point of view has led to deep insights into Banach space theory that has paved the way for these ideas being employed in seemingly unrelated disciplines including harmonic analysis, geometric group theory and many other domains of mathematics.

Abstract:By applying the theory of quasiconformal maps in measure metric spaces that was introduced by Heinonen-Koskela, we characterize bi-Lipschitz maps by modulus inequalities of rings and maximal, minimal derivatives in Q-regular Loewner spaces. Meanwhile the sufficient and necessary conditions for quasiconformal maps to become bi-Lipschitz maps are also obtained. These results generalize Rohde’s theorem in ℝ n and improve Balogh’s corresponding results in Carnot groups.
