Abstract:In order to improve the aircraft sheet metal forming process planning quality and efficiency based on the knowledge reuse,the knowledge based flanging process planning system and process knowledge acquisition technology are developed.Based on the strained condition of the flanging process,the flanging geometrical characteristic represent method is built to establish the design module,including 12 different combined models.And then,the process knowledge acquisition technology is constructed to abstract implicit knowledge form the database,which is achieved from the experiments or the finite element methods.The knowledge is used to construct the knowledge base,in order to support the intelligent process planning.After that,the knowledge based design support system for the complex flanging process planning is developed.An example of flanging part is used to verify the effectiveness and practicability of the system.

Abstract:Traditional civil aircraft manufacturing enterprises are experiencing transformation from providing products to providing the civil aircraft services based on the entire life cycle. In the process of transformation and upgrading, a well-developed knowledge management system is crucial to support the rapid and agile development of enterprises, fast delivery of orders and increase in brand awareness. However, in the research area of civil aircraft design knowledge management and related computer integrated manufacturing systems, there is a lack of investigation into knowledge modelling, management frameworks and methods of civil aircraft product design, which are vital in modern digitised manufacturing systems. Therefore, this research puts forward a design knowledge management (DKM) model for civil aircraft cabin, which is based on the analysis of design knowledge flow patterns among users, decision makers, designers and engineers. The authors have established the mapping model between historical design cases and new civil aircraft cabin design, and have built a Markov Logic Networks based design knowledge management framework which integrated time series into DKM systems to increase the accuracy and availability of knowledge matching. Finally, the specific application of the Markov Logic Networks-based knowledge management software platform is proposed.

Abstract:Knowledge-based product design was analyzed.Aiming at the shortage that the knowledge can not be pushed actively to the proper designer at the proper time,a knowledge active push framework based on knowledge management and driven by workflow was proposed and the main layers were analyzed.At the same time,the organization and management of knowledge were discussed.A novel knowledge active push method driven by workflow was presented,and the control model built for active push of knowledge was given.The design task,design subtask,designer and design knowledge were analyzed,and their data structures were established.Text similarity computation based on context framework model was extended to product design field.A text similarity computing method based on design object was proposed and used to match proper knowledge for the designer.Finally,a prototype system,which was integrated through knowledge management and workflow,was developed and an example of eddy current retarder design was given to realize the active push of knowledge.

Abstract:In the multi-disciplinary design process of complex product, it is hard for designers to obtain designing knowledge timely and accurately which causes the low efficiency of product design. With consideration of the above problem, knowledge navigation method is proposed based on context navigation model (CNM) and knowledge model (KM). CNM describes the matching relationship between designing activity context (AC) and knowledge context (KC), and composes of AC, KC and knowledge context network (KCN). KM describes designing knowledge element (ICE), and the matching relationship between KC and KE. Based on these models, procedure of multi-disciplinary knowledge navigation is introduced. Taking the design process of industrial steam turbine rotor flow division section as an instance, the result shows that this procedure, based on CNM and KM, is able to supply designers with proper product knowledge timely and promote the designing efficiency of complex product.

Abstract:In order to solve the existing problems of enterprise in knowledge management and technology creation and to exert technology creation ability of enterprise, the developments of enterprise knowledge management technology and tool were studied. The knowledge management included four kinds of knowledge transformation process: socialization of knowledge, externalization of knowledge, transformation of knowledge and internalization of knowledge. These four processes required corresponding management technologies and tools. The knowledge management technology and its tool were of important significance to enterprise development. The main manifestation of the present developments of the knowledge management technology and tool included: utilizing Intranet/Extranet/Internet to extending the communication scope of implicit knowledge, establishing improved exciting mechanism, investigating knowledge map and knowledge highway which were technologies and tools to support knowledge management, using organization facing to process, and realizing management around the development and design even as well as the whole life period of the product.

Abstract:Within the competitive environment of the automotive industry, increasing the efficiency of the engineering design process and shortening the time to market of a product becomes a key to the success of an automotive firm. Apart from applying design tools and strategies, undertaking knowledge management is also of significant importance as there are always huge amount of data and information generated during a design project. This has driven researchers to study knowledge management and devise a knowledge management system to assist the engineering design process. This paper is based on the study of a Formula Student racing car design project and presents a development of a Project-Process-Product (P3) Model as the core of a knowledge management system. The P3 Model aims to identify the information structure of automotive design knowledge as well as exploring the way to organize the data and information generated during an automotive design project. The preliminary work shows that, the model helps designers, especially novices, gain a clear overview of the project and recognise what data and information may be required for their design as well as how to access the information when necessary.

Abstract:Aircraft structural parts are typical small batch, multi-variety product, which is not conducive to the accumulation and reuse of knowledge, affecting and restricting the design of aircraft structural parts, and thus affecting the development progress and cycle of the aircraft. In this paper, a method for the design of sophisticated aircraft structural parts is proposed, to research on human-machine hybrid enhanced intelligent design of aircraft structural parts based on knowledge. The research includes human-machine mixture enhanced intelligent design technology, knowledge-based digital template design technology for aircraft structural parts, rule-based human-machine hybrid enhanced intelligent parameter design technology and case-based reasoning human-machine combination enhanced intelligent variant design technology, quickly building the aircraft structure design model, and summarizing the relevant knowledge in the design process to improve design efficiency. The research results show that this method can effectively solve the design problems of aircraft structural parts, and provide strong technical support for improving research and development ability and accumulating reusable design knowledge. At the same time, the research results can be applied to the design of other complex product parts.

Abstract:The urgent need for transformation and upgradation of China's shipbuilding industry can be met by intelligent design technology, enabling the implementation of innovative designs. Considering the multi-source, heterogeneous and multi-disciplinary characteristics of the design knowledge involved in these designs, this paper studies the key technology of intelligent outfitting design and knowledge base management system. By constructing the overall framework of intelligent outfitting design and knowledge base system, the Knowledge Based Engineering method is applied to the ship outfitting design for parameter calculation and intelligent selection of the equipment, as well as layout scheme recommendation and intelligent aided design. Designers can save significant design time by reusing the design knowledge and applying knowledge base management system for intelligent outfitting design.

Abstract:In view of the increasing competition of world shipyards,the quality and efficiency of ship design will directly affect the enterprise's innovation and competition.In this research,to support repetitively or time-consuming steps of ship design process,knowledge-based engineering techniques can be applied.This method works combination the principles of knowledge-based engineering with the theory of intelligent design.It analyses the ways of ship design knowledge acquisition,representation and management,building product standards library and design knowledge base to carry out the research.Through this technology,it can realize the parametric and feature drive,check the design of parts in products,and give design proposals instantly to designer to reduce design time and manufacture costs.The example of deck design shows that the integration of advanced knowledge-based engineering(KBE)methods into ship design helps company's design knowledge and optimization methods to accumulate and inherit,provides a reliable technical support for the quality of products design,significantly reduces the product design cycle,easily changes the design of parts,and promotes working efficiency.

Abstract:In the knowledge economy the one sure source of lasting competitive advantage is knowledge. In the theoretical field, interest in knowledge management has grown dramatically. In the business community, organizations are coming to regard knowledge-based intangible assets such as technological know-how and innovation as their most valuable and strategic resource, and they are also increasingly realizing that they must effectively and efficiently manage and cultivate their knowledge and competencies to maintain sustainable competitive advantage. However, there is scarcity on knowledge strategy toward dynamically integrating technological innovation with knowledge management in academic and practical domain. Therefore, based on some theories such as technological innovation, strategic management, transaction cost economics, organizational learning and knowledge management, the framework of knowledge strategy and the model of knowledge-based communities of creation are put forward and analyzed empirically in this paper. Abstract:Knowledge management (KM) has recently been considered as an important strategy for an enterprise to maintain competence in the fierce market competition. Yet the tools of building lifecycle knowledge management systems are not mature. In this paper we study the issues of how to collect and evaluate knowledge in a collaborative team of a complex engineering domain. We provide a collaborative knowledge production model for it by combining case based knowledge management and workflow management techniques. In this model, we regard knowledge as specific type of product that is made up of several components, which are usually produced by different employees or branches in an enterprise. Each knowledge item has several kinds of statuses to mark its stage in the production process. Each knowledge process changes the status of knowledge items that are being produced. To facilitate reconfiguration, the system is divided into several modules that can be defined separately by users with the minimal influence to other modules.
