Teaching Reform of Bioinformatics Course for Undergraduates of Crop Science Major

Abstract:The current situation and major problems of bioinformatics education in crop science major were expounded,such as the shortage of teaching hours,language barriers,lack of teaching materials and data processing ability,etc..On this basis,to improve the application,orientation and systematicness of bioinformatics,lots of strategies were discussed,including case studying,utilization of extracurricular reading,adjustment of the composition of final exam,optimization of teaching resources,especially the handbook for experimenters,updating the knowledge by teachers themselves.These above measures could stimulate the students' interests of bioinformatics and help them to get a well balance between the theories and applications of bioinformatics.
