Abstract:In the recent years, the hardware technology, high bandwidth network and 3D graphics systems bring the virtual reality (VR) technology into a new field: collaborative virtual environment (CVE). This field's goal is to use computers as tools for communication and information share. CVE is different from distributed virtual environment (DVE), it concerns more about the collaboration and the consistency in the cooperative work. And Java 3D is a new 3D technology, it offers a simple way to build up other virtual environments, and make the cooperation between the users easier to realize and control. By leveraging the inherent strengths of the Java language, Java 3D technology extends the concept of "write once, run anywhere" to 3D graphics applications, which makes the applications be independent of the hardware and software plat flat. So we put forward a new framework of the CVE system based on Java 3D technology. In this framework, we give a system architecture to realize scalability, persistence, consistency, and other requirements in CVE, and further more, it can realize complex cooperative works.

Abstract:Technology of Virtual Random Walk in building environment is one of the important contents of Virtual Reality Technology, which has a broad prospect for application in the fields of architecture, tourism, military and computer game design. This paper introduces the principle of Virtual Reality Modeling Language VRML, analyzes its operating principle and basic characteristics. Then it introduces some related technologies of the ancient cultural sites of the virtual roaming system. It introduces in detail three-dimensional modeling steps and methods including geometric modeling, physical modeling and Behavioral Modeling. Then, it give a detailed analysis of the key technology and the program realization of the ancient architecture of the virtual roaming system with the construction of Miaofeng Mountain as the background. Finally, it introduces the web-browse module and the optimization mode of the scene.

Setting about integration mechanism and the implementation method of JAVA and VRML, we place emphasis on the transport process of crystal structure data between the VRML scene and JAVA, and demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of this technique by modeling the crystal structure example of forsterite( Mg2SiO4 ) .

Abstract:This paper discusses issues in the design of an Autonomous Intelligent Robot Simulation and Debug Environment (AIRSDE) implemented in Java3D/VRML using B/S structure. In HTTP server, intelligent agent technology is introduced to encapsulate all the function modules, and the Agents exchange data through a blackboard system. All the data are stored into a dynamic scene database for on-line debug or offline replay utilization. In HTTP client, 3D virtual scene is divided into static modules and dynamic modules. The static models are created with VRML, which allows for easy definition of geometric shapes in hierarchical groupings. The dynamic models are created with Java 3D, which is capable of providing better integration of 3D scene and the movement of robot. The interaction among the entities in the 3D scene is implemented with Java Applet. Finally, a networked, multi-user, interactively and distributed simulation and debug virtual environment has been established.

Abstract:With recent technological advances, electronic learning (e-learning) has been enabled to operate via the World Wide Web (WWW). Being an important education method, online virtual experiment systems have also been developed greatly over the last few years. These have been used to aid education in certain areas, e.g. control engineering and the understanding of physical phenomena. For the sake of aiding the education of undergraduates in an experimental engineering curriculum, we have developed the infrastructure of a virtual reality (VR) form of Web-based Virtual Laboratory (WBVL). Using this infrastructure, we have successfully implemented several virtual chemical and mechanical engineering experiments. With its four important features (3D, interactive, Web based and virtual), WBVL can make its users feel as if they are performing a real-world experiment. VRML is used to build the virtual 3D scene, and Script nodes, EAI (External Authoring Interface) and SDK (Software Development Kit) are used to extend VRML's interactive and computational abilities. Using a client/server model, WBVL has a well-defined system architecture. The set-up of WBVL is composed of a user's guide, laboratory experiments, online help and experiment reporting. The "combined model" is the most-used virtual experiment operation model of WBVL.

Abstract:This article presents three educational applications developed in these worlds. The first, for virtual museum of history and culture, shows a set of virtual worlds designed in VRML where the student interacts with different objects. When an object is selected, its name can be show and the student can listen to its history. In the following application, a virtual classroom,the created world can be shared simultaneously by several users. Finally, the latest advances in the creation of virtual environments have been applied in the third application using a game server. This has made possible the design of a more realistic world where the student can interact with other users and share his experiences.

Abstract:The application of virtual worlds through Internet for teaching allows that the student can submerge himself in friendly environments that make learning more pleasant. However, the student’s avatar of the VRML plugin in Internet Explorer can not do anything without walking. This article presents an application and wants to implement the 3D virtual Avatar interaction gestures. The first, we introduce what is a virtual 3D avatar. In the following content, we build a virtual museum of history and culture as a multi-user virtual learning environment and introduce how to make a virtual 3D avatar with many interactive gestures. Finally, the latest advances in the creation of an avatar interaction server that users can share 3D interactive gestures. This has made the design of a more interactive realistic world where the student can interact with other users and share his emotions.

Abstract:Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is a computer-based online learning environment, which provides opportunities for geographically distributed student to learn at the time and location of their choosing. Especially the Web3D VLE can bring us more rich learning experience as well as the information overload and low adaptive for the huge of 3D data. In this paper, we propose prototype of adaptive Web3D VLE with interest management supported, named VLE-IM. VLE-IM provides the interest management methodology with correlation analysis, the description of the correlation interest scheme using digraph. System can filter the update message and network traffic using Web3D Level-of-Detail(LOD) control based on Xj3D and Java programming language. JXTA technology based architecture can accommodate prototype system with centralized/decentralized mode and high scalability. Incorporated with these approach, VLE-IM meets the request of adaptive Web3D VLE. Besides; some development issues are address in this paper.

Abstract:Computer Supported Collaboration has not only changed the way people work, but also the way people live, the way people entertain and the way people get education. The development of the Internet provides digital en tertainments and distant-learning with a good network environment and in these applications, 2.5D virtual environ ments are widely used due to their good performances and the sense of realism. But the Internet's inherent problem of latency affects the real-time feature of the virtual envirorunents, in particular multi-server ones. Based on traditional multi-server communication models, a new multi-server one is brought out which extended the region managed by each server. The model was adopted in Zhejiang Tourism Expo'2003, and achieved a great success.

Abstract:The quick development of the technique of virtual reality opens a ne w area for the theory of fractal. The paper analyzes the main methods of fractal simulation of the configuration of plants and points out their difficulties, pu ts forward a simplified algorithm of L-system based on VRML. Abstract:Virtual reality technology has attracted researchers’ attention because it can provide users with a virtual interactive learning environment. Based on the theory of virtual reality technology, this paper proposes the system model design and architecture of virtual interactive music-assisted interactive teaching and realizes key technologies such as modeling, music-assisted interactive teaching scene interaction, and database access. In the simulation process, based on the VRML/X3D bottom interactive system template, after comprehensive application research, comparative analysis of various modeling methods, the system verified the use of digital cameras combined with the modeling technology based on music elements to collaboratively establish VRML virtual model connections. For inline node function, we combined it with Outline3D to realize VRML integration and then use VizX3D, X3D-Edit to build X3D model and realize the conversion from VRML to X3D, which solves the system completeness problem of music-assisted interactive teaching. The experimental results show that, according to the statistical analysis of the data after the experiment, when the position changes in the virtual 3D music-assisted interactive teaching scene, it will be displayed in the plane layer, and the real-time coordinates of the virtual music-assisted interactive teaching scene displayed in HTML have case. By analyzing the scenes and dynamic effects in the works, the effects of the virtual world can be better displayed through the performance of details. The better accuracy and delay error reached 89.7% and 3.11%, respectively, which effectively improved the effect and feasibility of applying virtual reality technology to music-assisted interactive teaching.

Abstract:Abstract The construction of a virtual interactive model based on VR technology breaks through the single mode of traditional virtual reality helmets, through optical attitude sensing, immersive cave virtual reality, multi-person network collaboration, 9D interactive media applications, and mobile terminal interaction. The organic integration and application of technologies have improved the user’s interactive experience, and the inheritance and development of local folk culture and the continuous research on intangible cultural heritage can be a useful exploration. However, the development cost of the entire design is relatively high, and there is no unified construction standard and policy support for such projects in China, especially the lack of effective support from the network application platform, which makes it difficult to implement online, and the reproducibility is low.
