Abstract:With recent technological advances, electronic learning (e-learning) has been enabled to operate via the World Wide Web (WWW). Being an important education method, online virtual experiment systems have also been developed greatly over the last few years. These have been used to aid education in certain areas, e.g. control engineering and the understanding of physical phenomena. For the sake of aiding the education of undergraduates in an experimental engineering curriculum, we have developed the infrastructure of a virtual reality (VR) form of Web-based Virtual Laboratory (WBVL). Using this infrastructure, we have successfully implemented several virtual chemical and mechanical engineering experiments. With its four important features (3D, interactive, Web based and virtual), WBVL can make its users feel as if they are performing a real-world experiment. VRML is used to build the virtual 3D scene, and Script nodes, EAI (External Authoring Interface) and SDK (Software Development Kit) are used to extend VRML's interactive and computational abilities. Using a client/server model, WBVL has a well-defined system architecture. The set-up of WBVL is composed of a user's guide, laboratory experiments, online help and experiment reporting. The "combined model" is the most-used virtual experiment operation model of WBVL.

The situation that users can only do their learning by passively following the model and animation designed by the software programmer is changed. Abstract:<p>Virtual Reality VR technology offers a unique approach to enhance the use of complex 3D graphics and visualization environments. The study conducted using virtual reality (VR) technology integrated into the computer-aided design network; VR is a Web-based learning environment. Virtual reality technology is expected to be a traditional 2D computer graphics (CG) CG extended to a 3D real-time simulation program. Virtual reality technology can be used to promote participation and student learning. With VR education, change the delivery of educational content. No user interaction is well suited to see it and is very suitable to create a real or imaginary virtual world. Immersive virtual reality (VR) applications require ultra-high data rate and low latency to run smoothly, designed to improve multiuser wireless VR video (depth of learning support system) VR experiences. It has been proposed streaming: quality and low-latency video block submission. Scenario, VR is that it can describe some fields to be widely applied to education. One of the main features of VR is that it allows for multisensory interaction in the visualization space. This combination of visualization and interactive cosmetic VR of multisensory is, ideally, to see whether suitable for effective learning and try to explain this effect by the benefits of active learning from experience. Also, may want to consider some of the defenders and the application of VR education related to technology-related lottery.</p>

Abstract:Virtual reality (VR) is being applied to a wide range of medical areas, including medical education/training, surgery and diagnostics assistance. In the medical education field, VR opens new realms in the teaching of medicine and creates new effective learning procedures for the students. In contrast with the expensive immersive virtual reality learning environment (VRLE) such as CAVE, ImmersaDesk, virtual reality modeling language (VRML) technology provides a cheap and simple way to create such an environment and can be easily deployed in the classroom. In this paper, we describe some traditional application of VR in medical education and design a prototype of VRLE system based on VRML and visualization toolkit (VTK). The system architecture and module design are described in detail and some results are presented.

Abstract:This article presents three educational applications developed in these worlds. The first, for virtual museum of history and culture, shows a set of virtual worlds designed in VRML where the student interacts with different objects. When an object is selected, its name can be show and the student can listen to its history. In the following application, a virtual classroom,the created world can be shared simultaneously by several users. Finally, the latest advances in the creation of virtual environments have been applied in the third application using a game server. This has made possible the design of a more realistic world where the student can interact with other users and share his experiences.

Abstract:Virtual reality (VR) technology is a kind of computer simulation system that can create and experience the virtual world. It uses computers to generate a simulation environment. It is a system simulation of multisource information fusion, interactive three-dimensional dynamic view, and physical behavior for users to immerse in the environment. The practical application of virtual instructional models is developed to support civil engineering teaching, disciplines related to civil engineering processes, including classroom education and e-learning technologies. The virtual model can be interactively operated, allowing the teacher or student to monitor the physical evolution of the work and the progress of architectural activities inherent in it. This paper analyzes the development status of VR and its application in teaching research and describes the application of a VR teaching model to demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of VR teaching. The developed application can display the physical evolution of the task, detect the planned construction sequence, and view the shape details of each construction component. The use of VR technology in developing these instructional applications contributes to education by increasing the efficiency of the models to allow for the interactivity of each simulation task. Therefore, the new concept of VR technology applied in teaching mode brings a new perspective to civil engineering education.

Abstract:The emergence of virtual reality technology has provided a new development space for distance higher education. This paper expounds the significance of virtual reality (VR) technology applied to distance higher education, systematically introduces the composition of VR distance education system, and proposes five application modes of VR distance higher education, including self-exploration learning, simulation experiment learning, and distance open learning, distance group discussions and distance education platforms. Finally, the challenges faced by VR technology in the application of distance higher education are summarized based on the current status. Despite of the obvious advantages in higher education, the application of virtual reality technology in distance higher education is a long-term project that requires secular exploration.

Abstract:Technology of Virtual Random Walk in building environment is one of the important contents of Virtual Reality Technology, which has a broad prospect for application in the fields of architecture, tourism, military and computer game design. This paper introduces the principle of Virtual Reality Modeling Language VRML, analyzes its operating principle and basic characteristics. Then it introduces some related technologies of the ancient cultural sites of the virtual roaming system. It introduces in detail three-dimensional modeling steps and methods including geometric modeling, physical modeling and Behavioral Modeling. Then, it give a detailed analysis of the key technology and the program realization of the ancient architecture of the virtual roaming system with the construction of Miaofeng Mountain as the background. Finally, it introduces the web-browse module and the optimization mode of the scene.

Abstract:With the development of science and technology, virtual reality (VR) technique has been applied to various fields. In civil engineering, the application of VR technique to field practice and training has still been limited. By summarizing the characteristics of field practice and training, the potential applications of VR technique in civil engineering have been discussed. Taking the virtual laboratory of civil engineering in Beijing Jiaotong University as an example and basing on the experiences of developed VR modules, the advantages and disadvantages of VR techniques have been pointed out in this paper, which could be referred by the similar laboratory in the other universities.

Abstract:VRML is mainly used to make 3D user interface and to control dynamic display in real-time state. Java is responsible for correspondence between Web browser and VRML scene, also for linkage with other information system section. Firstly, paper introduced the features of virtual lab and showed advantages during teaching. Then paper mainly discussed the combination of VRML and Java, including realizing dynamic client interface with Java Applet technology and communicating between HTTP protocol tunnel and backstage servlet, which is supposed to bring interaction and individuation education come true.
