Abstract:The problem of analysis of robust stability for time-delayed neural networks with nonlinear perturbation has been investigated via Lyapunov stability theory. The sufficient conditions for robust stability of neural networks with time delays have been developed. The exponential stability criterion for neural networks is also derived. The result includes the information on the state convergence degree of the neural networks. The robust stable criterion in this paper is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

Abstract:This paper addresses the global robust stability for uncertain neural networks with discrete and distributed delays. By using the Lyapunov stability theory, homomorphic mapping theory and matrix theory, improved sufficient robust stability conditions for uncertain neural networks with mixed delays are presented. Our results can be verified easily. The advantage of the proposed results is that they can be expressed in terms of network parameters only. Finally, two illustrative numerical examples are provided to show the validity comparing with the existing corresponding results.

Abstract:In this paper, some criteria are derived for global robust asymptotic stability of a class of interval neural networks with multiple constant or time-varying delays via the Lyapunov–Krasovskii stability theory for functional differential equations and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. The main results are applied to the uncertain systems with single delay, and several new criteria to determine the asymptotical convergence of these systems are obtained. Numerical examples are also given to show the effectiveness of our results.

Abstract:The dynamics of cortical cognitive maps developed by self-organization must include the aspects of long and short-term memory. The behavior of such a neural network is characterized by an equation of neural activity as a fast phenomenon and an equation of synaptic modification as a slow part of the neural system, besides, this model bases on unsupervised synaptic learning algorithm. In this paper, using theory of the topological degree and strict Liapunov functional methods, we prove existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium of competitive neural networks with continuously distributed delays and different time scales, and present some new criteria for its global robust stability.

Abstract:This paper concerns the problem of the globally exponential stability of neural networks with discrete and distributed delays. A novel criterion for the globally exponential stability of neural networks is derived by employing the Lyapunov stability theory, homomorphic mapping theory, and matrix theory. The proposed result improves the previously reported global stability results. Finally, two illustrative numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of our results.

Abstract:The global asymptotical robust stability of neural networks with time-varying delays is investigated. Based on nonnegative matrix theory and Lyapunov-Razumikhin technique, a sufficient condition for global asymptotical robust stability is given, which is independent of time delays and can be verified easily. Theoretical analysis and numerical examples show that the obtained condition generalizes two corresponding results derived in the literatures, and complements the results concerning the robust stability research of neural networks effectively. A numerical example and the corresponding computer simulation are presented to verify the effectiveness of the obtained result.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the stability analysis of neural networks with distributed and probabilistic delays. The probabilistic delay satisfies a certain probability distribution. By introducing a stochastic variable with a Bernoulli distribution, the neural network with random time delays is transformed into one with deterministic delays and stochastic parameters. New conditions for the exponential stability of such neural networks are obtained by employing new Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals and novel techniques for achieving delay dependence. The proposed conditions reduce the conservatism by considering not only the range of the time delays, but also the probability distribution of their variation. A numerical example is provided to show the advantages of the proposed techniques.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to stability analysis of a novel delayed neural network, whose neurons are connected with each other through both neurons' feedback connection strength matrix and direct connection strength matrix. Both delay-independent and delay-dependent stability criteria are obtained by integrating LMI approach and Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. By introducing some slack matrix variables, the criteria are less conservative. It is the most efficient for systems with time delay. The criteria are in form of LMI with more slack matrix variables, which may enlarge the range in selecting neural networks' parameters including the upper bound of delay for guaranteeing asymptotic stability of the system. Abstract:: This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent stability of neural networks with distributed delays. Some new sufficient condition are derived by constructing a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach. The criteria are formulated in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities, this is convenient for numerically checking the system stability using the powerful MATLAB LMI Toolbox. Moreover, in order to show the stability condition in this paper gives much less conservative results than those in the literature, numerical examples are considered.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with analysis problem for the global exponential stability of the Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with discrete delays and with distributed delays. We first prove the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point under mild conditions, assuming neither differentiability nor strict monotonicity for the activation function. Then, we employ Lyapunov functions to establish some sufficient conditions ensuring global exponential stability of equilibria for the Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with discrete delays and with distributed delays. Our results are not only presented in terms of system parameters and can be easily verified and also less restrictive than previously known criteria. A comparison between our results and the previous results admits that our results establish a new set of stability criteria for delayed neural networks.

Abstract:This brief investigates the analysis issue for global asymptotic stability of a class of generalized neural networks with multiple discrete and distributed delays. To tackle delays arising in different neuron activation functions, we employ a generalized model with multiple discrete and distributed delays which covers various existing neural networks. We then generalize the Bessel-Legendre inequalities to deal with integral terms with any linearly independent functions and nonlinear function of states. Based on these inequalities, we design the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and derive hierarchical linear matrix inequality stability conditions. Finally, three numerical examples are provided to demonstrate that the proposed method is less conservative with a reasonable numerical burden than the existing results.

Abstract:The global exponential robust stability is investigated to a class of reaction-diffusion Cohen-Grossberg neural network (CGNNs) with constant time-delays, this neural network contains time invariant uncertain parameters whose values are unknown but bounded in given compact sets. By employing the Lyapunov-functional method, several new sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure the global exponential robust stability of equilibrium point for the reaction diffusion CGNN with delays. These sufficient conditions depend on the reaction-diffusion terms, which is a preeminent feature that distinguishes the present research from the previous research on delayed neural networks with reaction-diffusion. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper, the global robust stability is discussed for delayed neural networks with a class of general activation functions. By constructing new Lyapunov functionals, several novel conditions are derived to guarantee the existence, uniqueness and global robust stability of the equilibrium of neural networks with time delays. These conditions do not require the activation functions to be differentiable, bounded or monotonically nondecreasing. The results obtained here are generalizations of some earlier results reported in the literature for neural networks with time delays. In addition, two examples are given to illustrate our proposed results.

Abstract:The problem of delay-probability-distribution-dependent robust stability for a class of discrete-time stochastic neural networks (DSNNs) with delayed and parameter uncertainties is investigated. The information of the probability distribution of the delay is considered and transformed into parameter matrices of the transferred DSSN model. In the DSSN model, the time-varying delay is characterized by introducing a Bernoulli stochastic variable. By constructing an augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and introducing some analysis techniques, some novel delay-distribution-dependent mean square stability conditions for the DSSN, which are to be robustly globally exponentially stable, are derived. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate less conservatism and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
