Ultrasound Combining with～(99m)TcO～-_4 Thyroid Imaging in Diagnosis of Thyroid Nodules

Abstract:Objective By using of ultrasound combining with 99mTcO-4 thyroid imaging,the ture uptaking 99mTcO-4 function of thyroid nodules was provided.Methods Retrospective analysis of 102 patients with 147 nodules has been carried.All the cases have been observed with pre-operative ultrasound and radionuclide scans,post-operative pathologic results are gold standard.A contrast of thyroid nodules,physical properties(solid、cystic、mixed solid and cystic) and characters of radionuclide scans(hot、warm、cool、cold) has been performed based on the thicknees ratio of nodules(more than 4:5 or less than 4:5).Results 1.In terms of nodules with its thicknees ratio less than 4:5 which can been found by both US and nuclear scans,cool nodules play an important role which account for 94.7%.For the nodules with its thicknees ratio more than 4:5,cold nodules account for 75%.2.For the mixed solid and cystic nodules with nuclear character of cold or cool one,nodular goiter accounts for 85%,adenoma 5%,carcinoma 5%,others 5%.For the solid nodules with nuclear character of cold or cool one.nodular goiter accounts for 47%,adenoma 11%,carcinoma 19%,subcute thyroiditis 8%,nodular goiter mixed with carcinoma 3%,others 12%.The malignant rate of the former is far less than the latter.(p <0.05).3.For the solid nodules with nuclear character of cold one,nodular goiter accounts for 36.7%,adenoma 16.7%,carcinoma 30%,subcute thyroiditis 10%,nodular goiter mixed with adenoma 6.7%.Conclusion Ultrasound combining with 99mTcO-4 thyroid imaging can provide more true information of thyroid nodules uptaking 99mTcO-4 function than the latter.
