Abstract:The creation and transfer of knowledge are a basis of competitive advantage in firms.This article generalizes and integrates the extant literatures examining the knowledge transfer.It analyzes the connotation of knowledge,the definition of knowledge transfer,and the theoretical basis and perspectives,process,domain,measurement and evaluation of knowledge transfer.Based on the review,the paper proposes some limitations and future orientations,and specifies the further directions of knowledge transfer.

Abstract:Knowledge is a crucial resource in developing sustainable competitive advantage for a firm. This paper examines the impact of knowledge characteristics and knowledge transfer mechanisms on implication of performance. Building on a dynamic perspective, we develop three proportions to indicate the relationship. These results show that knowledge differs in characteristics and so do the available transfer mechanism. There is a fit between the mechanism of transfer and the specific knowledge characteristics. And the misfit patterns may cause loss of knowledge in the process of transmission or may involve unnecessarily high communication costs, this can impair the performance of the organization.

There is high transfer efficiency for explicit knowledge by structured and technology-driven approach. While, transferring tacit knowledge successfully needs more interactions between suppliers and recipients. Internal knowledge market as a kind of transfer mechanism, under a proper organizational control, it plays a significant promoting role for both explicit and tacit knowledge.

Abstract:Knowledge Transfer in the enterprise knowledge management is an important link,and it is also an effective way to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.This paper reviews and analyzes the relative studies about the definition of knowledge transfer and makes a synthesis according to the four factors:Knowledge Characteristics;the subject of knowledge transfer;the media of knowledge transfer and the context of knowledge transfer.Based on that,the paper puts forward the notion that the research on the factors can be discussed in two aspects:the inside of the organization and the outside of the organization.At last,further research directions of knowledge transfer are also presented.

Abstract:A new analytical framework and method for the knowledge transfer in an organization is put forward.First,the concept and analytical framework for the successful knowledge transfer is proposed,and then,the concept of the knowledge transfer level and knowledge transfer efficiency is given.The knowledge transfer level and efficiency from different dimensions are also classified and discussed.Based on the above analyses,mathematical models of the knowledge transfer are constructed and computational formulae for the knowledge transfer level and efficiency are presented.

Abstract:The problem on efficiency of knowledge transfer of an alliance is studied in this paper.After the concept of knowledge transfer efficiency is proposed,we classify the knowledge transfer efficiency into the efficiency of the number of the bodies who acquired knowledge and the efficiency of the abundance of the knowledge,and then discuss such two kinds of efficiencies from different dimensions.Based on above analyses,mathematical models of knowledge transfer efficiencies are constructed and computational formulae are presented.The research can give some guidance and suggestions for firms in an alliance to effectively promote and control their knowledge transfer in practice.

Abstract:In this paper,the characteristics of the team knowledge transfer,and the transfer tools and techniques are analyzed in detail.Then,a model is developed to describe the relation between the knowledge transfer and team performance.With the model,a number of hypotheses are presented.To validate these hypotheses,questionnaire from 500 knowledge workers in different teams are collected.The data are processed by using statistical tools such as SPSS and AMOS.In this way,interesting results are obtained.

Abstract:Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to address important but unresolved questions regarding how different knowledge transfer processes and characteristics affect knowledge transfer effectiveness (KTE). This study, which draws on an integrative knowledge management framework, forces us to reconsider successful knowledge transfer within organizations.Design/methodology/approach– The data for this study were obtained through an interview survey of 117 firms in China. The questionnaire was adapted from several previous studies on processes, characteristics, and effectiveness of knowledge transfer. A regression method was conducted to test all hypotheses.Findings– The findings show that both structured and unstructured knowledge processes has positive effects on KTE. Furthermore, knowledge embeddedness and articulability differently moderate the relationship between transfer processes and effectiveness.Originality/value– The paper contributes to knowledge management theory by providing an integrative framework on how organizations can facilitate KTE by conducting appropriate transfer processes aligned with differentiated knowledge characteristics. Further, this study investigates the “fit” between knowledge transfer processes and characteristics.

Abstract:Knowledge transfer can provide an organization with comparative competitive edge,and organizational learning may enhance its adaptive ability to environments.Their mutual efforts support organizational sustainable competitive advantages,This paper reviews the literatures of overlapping knowledge,knowledge transfer,and learning capacity,and analyzes the characteristic relationships between overlapping knowledge and knowledge transfer,and organization learning.The model of these relationships is made up of knowledge ecological perspective,and further we demonstrate the proposition that overlapping knowledge is an adjustor of the optimization of the efficiency of knowledge transfer and learning ability.Lastly,the management implications are concluded.

Abstract:Based on the panel data from 2004 to 2008 and the method of Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA),this paper analyzes the efficiency of regional knowledge transfer in China.The results show that the whole efficiency is not high,and varies in different areas.Different from the existing research,we further analyze the reasons for them from the perspective of knowledge transfer theory,which include four main factors of knowledge,source,recipient and transfer environment.From the above,an important enlightenment is that every region need to take some governance mechanisms to improve regional knowledge transfer efficiency in China,according to the characteristics of knowledge transfer and its own innovation objectives.

Abstract:The traditional technical efficiency measurement regards the technology transfer system as a "black box" and doesn't penetrate the internal operation mechanism of the system. This paper opens the technology transfer system "black box" of industry-university-research institution (IUR) collaborative innovation, researches the internal structure of the system, and deconstructs the system into two stages: technology innovation stage and industrial value creation stage. On this basis, this paper calculates the technology transfer efficiency based on the two-stage DEA model. The result shows that the overall technology transfer efficiency in IUR collaborative innovation is low, and the bottlenecks for improving the technology transfer efficiency are different for different provinces. Through analyzing the internal and external factors of the system, this paper finds that the good cooperative relationship between enterprises and scientific research institutions can improve the efficiency of technology transfer. Refer to environmental factors, the government supports, the market competition and the demand for new products have positive impact on the efficiency of technology transfer.

Abstract:According to knowledge transfer process theory,characteristics of technology alliances and relative factors,a knowledge transfer influencing factors conceptual framework is proposed.And then the collected data from technology alliances organizations are employed to analyze the factors which influence knowledge transfer effectiveness in the process of technology alliances.In the paper,the fit degree is measured by absolute fit measures and parsimonious fit measures.The results indicate that the higher degree of knowledge transfer process success,the higher degree of knowledge transfer effectiveness;resources involved,organizational context applicability and compatible communication are positively related to knowledge transfer process success;the information symmetry is highly related to knowledge identifying ability;knowledge identifying ability which is not directly related to knowledge transfer process is highly related to knowledge identifying ability;the disseminative capability of the knowledge senders and the absorptive capability of knowledge receivers are positively and significantly related to organizational context applicability.Finally,a path of influencing factors on effectiveness of knowledge transfer is gained and countermeasures are brought forward to improve knowledge transfer effectiveness.

Abstract:The transfer of sticky knowledge in the knowledge network of industrial clusters has a great effect on the performance of knowledge flows,which determines the improvement of the technological innovation and the construction optimization of industrial clusters.The paper analyzes the three-dimensional structure of knowledge networks,then finds out the relationships among nodes of internal and external knowledge networks.Then the flow of knowledge among nodes such as corporations,colleges,research institutes and government departments is analyzed.The research on sticky knowledge flow from all levels' perspectives leads to the conclusions which can promote the sticky knowledge transfer.

Abstract:Effective transfer of Scientific and Technological Achievements can bring substantial economic benefits,and the scientific evaluation of the transfer efficiency plays a key role in its improvement.In this article,DEA method is adopted to study the investment on science and technology and the transfer efficiency of scientific and technological achievements in more than 30 regions in China,providing a somehow objective reflection of the transfer efficiencies of different regions.The location of these regions and the reasons for the low efficiency of some regions are analyzed using DEA method,with corresponding suggestions for improvement of the transfer efficiency.

Abstract:The purpose of the study is an attempt to find out and examine the factors affecting the effectiveness of interorganizations knowledge transfer in the process of collaborative R&D in mechanism manufacturing and IT industries in China. On the basis of literature research and interviews with collaborative R&D organizations, a knowledge transfer influencing factors theoretical framework is proposed. The empirical study is conducted. through a research survey by questionnaire on mechanism manufacturing and IT industries. This study constructs SEM model and uses multivariate statistic analysis tools, AMOSTO, to verify the relations of variables. A total of 143 respondents were samples. The results of the study indicates that the higher degree of "knowledge transfer process", the higher degree of "effectiveness of knowledge transfer"; "resources involvement", "knowledge context applicability" and "knowledge transfer means" are significantly and positively related to "knowledge transfer process"; "the information symmetry" is highly related to "knowledge identifying ability"; and "knowledge identifying ability" which doesn't directly relate to "knowledge transfer process" but positively correlates with "knowledge transfer means"; "the disseminative capability of the knowledge senders" and "the absorptive capability of recipient" positively and significantly correlates with "knowledge context applicability".
