Abstract:This paper deals with a parabolic system, cross-coupled via a nonlinear source and a nonlinear boundary flux. We get a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of non-simultaneous blow-up. In particular, four different simultaneous blow-up rates are obtained in different regions of parameters, described by an introduced characteristic algebraic system. It is observed that different initial data may result in different simultaneous blow-up rates even in the same region of parameters.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the blowup phenomenon of stochastic delayed evolution equations. We first establish the sufficient condition to ensure the existence of a unique nonnegative solution of stochastic parabolic equations. Then the problem of blow-up solutions in mean L-q-norm, q 1, in a finite time is considered. The main aim in this article is to investigate the effect of time delay and stochastic term. A new result shows that the stochastic delayed term can induce singularities.

Abstract:Considered herein is the initial-boundary value problem for a semilinear parabolic equation with a memory term and non-local source wt−ΔBw−ΔBwt+∫0tg(t−τ)ΔBw(τ)dτ=|w|p−1w−1|B|∫B|w|p−1wdx1x1dx′ on a manifold with conical singularity, where the Fuchsian type Laplace operator ΔB is an asymmetry elliptic operator with conical degeneration on the boundary x1=0. Firstly, we discuss the symmetrical structure of invariant sets with the help of potential well theory. Then, the problem can be decomposed into two symmetric cases: if w0∈W and Π(w0)>0, the global existence for the weak solutions will be discussed by a series of energy estimates under some appropriate assumptions on the relaxation function, initial data and the symmetric structure of invariant sets. On the contrary, if w0∈V and Π(w0)<0, the nonexistence of global solutions, i.e., the solutions blow up in finite time, is obtained by using the convexity technique.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the initial boundary value problem for a class of higher-order nonlinear pseudo-parabolic equations with a memory term. First, the blow-up results of the solution when the initial energy is negative or positive are obtained by using concavity analysis, and an upper bound on the blow-up time $ T^* $ is given. Second, a lower bound on the blow-up time $ T^* $ is obtained by applying differential inequalities when the solutions blow up.

These extend the resent results of Wang et al. (2009), which considered the special case , and Wang et al. (2007), which studied the single equation.

Abstract:We study the blow-up problem of one-dimensional nonlinear heat equations. Our result shows that for a certain class of initial conditions, the solutions blow up in finite time and we characterize the asymptotic dynamics of these solutions. The approach is analogous to one used in bifurcation theory and our techniques can be regarded as a time-dependent version of the Lyapunov-Schmidt decomposition.

Abstract:This paper deals with the blow-up behavior of radial solutions to a parabolic system multi-coupled via inner sources and boundary flux. We first obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of non-simultaneous blow-up, and then find five regions of exponent parameters where both non-simultaneous and simultaneous blow-up may happen. In particular, nine simultaneous blow-up rates are established for different regions of parameters. It is interesting to observe that different initial data may lead to different simultaneous blow-up rates even with the same exponent parameters.

Abstract:This paper studies coupled heat equations with multi-nonlinearities of six nonlinear parameters. The critical blow-up exponent is established via a complete classification for all the six nonlinear parameters, where a precise analysis on the geometry of Ω and the absorption coefficients is given for the balanced interaction situation among the multi-nonlinearities. The main attention is contributed to non-simultaneous phenomena in the model to determine the necessary and sufficient conditions of non-simultaneous blow-up with suitable initial data, as well as the conditions under which any blow-up must be non-simultaneous. Finally, the model of the paper is characterized by a comparison with the known results for other models.

Abstract:This article deals with the blow-up properties of the solution to a doubly degenerate parabolic system with nonlocal sources and inner absorptions, subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. We first establish the local existence and uniqueness of its classical solutions. Then we show that the critical exponent is determined by the interaction among all the six nonlinear exponents from all three kinds of the nonlinearities. Finally, we give the precise blow-up estimates and the uniform blow-up profiles.

Abstract:In this paper, we study weakly coupled systems for semilinear wave equations with distinct nonlinear memory terms in general forms, and the corresponding single semilinear equation with general nonlinear memory terms. Thanks to Banach's fixed point theorem, we prove local (in time) existence of solutions with the $L^1$ assumption on the memory kernels. Then, blow-up results for energy solutions are derived applying iteration methods associated with slicing procedure. We investigate interactions on the blow-up conditions under different decreasing assumptions on the memory term. Particularly, a new threshold for the kernels on interplay effect is found. Additionally, we give some applications of our results on semilinear wave equations and acoustic wave equations.
