Abstract:EMR benefits medical staffs by facilitating the order entry and prescribing errors. It can improve the safety and effectiveness of medical services, but can not manage the whole medical process and the quality of medical services. So we apply PDCA, the famous quality management cycle to the EMR. EMR with PDCA can record every state of the orders to monitor the whole medical process. This extends the safety from planning the treatment to fulfilling the treatment. By analyzing the records, doctors and hospital managers can perfect the medical process and improve the quality of medical services. The ordering system we designed with PDCA can display all the information intuitively and real-timely by changing colors of the orders. ©2010 IEEE.

Abstract:Current EMR system benefits physicians by facilitating order entry and reducing errors. It can improve the safety and effectiveness of medical services, but cannot manage the whole medical process and the quality of medical services. In addition to physicians, EMR should be designed for all medical professionals because medical services cannot be accomplished by physicians alone, but also requires the involvement of other medical professionals. Therefore, we applied PDCA, the famous quality management cycle to design a comprehensive and coherent EMR system which can be used throughout the entire treatment process. EMR with the PDCA Cycle can record every order state and every treatment procedure in order to monitor the whole medical process. This extends the safety from planning the treatment to fulfilling it. By analyzing the records, doctors and hospital managers can perfect the medical process and improve healthcare quality. The EMR we designed with the PDCA Cycle provides a record entry interface for physicians and a worksheet interface for nurses and other professionals. Every treatment procedure and every change of orders or tasks will be fed back to medical professionals. So information generated from the beginning to the end of treatment will link with each other to avoid any information islands. Furthermore, the EMR can display the additional information intuitively and real-timely without increasing the burden of medical professionals’ work.

Abstract:Objective To explore the application of PDCA cycle to the quality management of epidural labor analgesia. Methods We applied PDCA cycle to the management of epidural labor analgesia from June, 2013 to January, 2014 and analyzed current situation. With plan, implementation, examination and action, we found out the problems in epidural labor analgesia and improved its quality continuously. Results The valid control rate of labor pain, satisfaction rating of pain-relieving and puerperae' satisfaction had been significantly improved after the application of PDCA cycle. Conclusion The application of PDCA cycle in epidural labor analgesia management could well improve the analgesic effect and patients' satisfaction.

Abstract:We apply Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA)circulation in improving health management in the hospital, which promote the health management in our hospital effectively.According to the evaluation result of health elec-tronic file,we make a work plan,and do as the plan.We check the achievements and improve the plan constantly, and finally turn the PDCA circulation into action.Multiple departments in the hospital join in the PDCA work cycle, and find ways to bring more medical staff into the cycle,and improve their health constantly.

Abstract:Objectives: To explore the effective ways in shortening the review time of medical records in medical insurance patients and to provide reference for continuous improving efficiency and the quality of service. Methods: PDCA circulation was applied to analyze the factors that affecting the review time, identify the main causes and develop the improvement measures. Results: After implementing the PDCA circle, the institution, business process, information system and management methods have been improved. The numbers of review elevated from 3.55 to 4.72 per day, increased 33.1%. Conclusions: PDCA circulation significantly shorted the review time of medical records in the medical insurance patients, and continuously improving the efficiency and quality of medical insurance management.

Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of PDCA cycle combined with intensive maintenance quality management mode in hospital medical devices maintenance management. Methods In order to improve the maintenance management level of medical devices, PDCA cycle combined with intensive maintenance quality management mode was adopted in hospital medical devices maintenance, and the management efficiency of the maintenance quality management mode was verified. Results After PDCA cycle combined with intensive maintenance quality management mode, the stain-free rate of medical device surfaces and the integrity rate of maintenance registration information were significantly improved (2=37.425,2=21.218; P<0.01), the pass rate of the first inspection was improved (2=5.684; P < 0.05). The maintenance quality satisfaction and maintenance timeliness satisfaction of medical staff to clinical medical engineers were significantly improved (t=-4.066,t=-6.902; P < 0.01). Conclusions PDCA cycle combined with intensive maintenance quality management mode can improve the quality and efficiency of maintenance service and improve the satisfaction of medical staff on maintenance service. PDCA cycle combined with intensive maintenance quality management mode is an effective method for hospital medical devices maintenance management.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate PDCA circulation method in the management of teaching rounds of residents in department of diagnostic ultrasound. Methods PDCA circulation method was applied to the teaching rounds in department of ultrasound in Peking University Third Hospital from 2013—2019, and each circulation lasted for one year. PDCA circulation consists of four stages: plan, performance(do), check, and action. During the practice, the problems of the teaching round forms and contents were reviewed and modified to pick up content which were more suitable to department of diagnostic ultrasound. The improvement in teachers'assessment and training was also made according to the limitations in teacher training. Results PDCA circulation method improved the training quality of residents. All the residents in the third training year were competent to clinical performance and the residents all passed the phase Ⅰ skill examination of the standardized training in the past three years. Conclusions PDCA circulation method improves quanlity of teaching rounds and the training outcomes of residents in the department of diagnostic ultrasound.

Abstract:Enhancing the contract management of medical equipment is of great importance in managing the medical e-quipment and will exert a profound influence on the medical work.Demonstrating the feasibility of buying the equipment is the most important thing in our hospital.By means of the need demonstration,the benefit demonstration and the market demonstration,we analyze the cost and the benefit of similar equipment,especially the large equipment.Through these work,we seize the running condition and the need degree exactly and avoid such wasteful decisions as buying repeatedly,idleness and low using rate.We can provide scientific evidence for the decision of buying equipment.During the negotiation of contracts,we correct the errors and make every contract become scientific,standardized and precise.At the same time,as a member of contract management,we communicate with other departments actively to ensure the contract be implemented timely,exactly and quickly.

Abstract:Objective: By using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to shorten the time of purchasing medical equipment, to meet the urgent needs of clinical work, to solve the contradiction between urgent need of medical equipment and acquisition of long cycle. Methods:In order to solve this problem, need to build AHP model, list the factors that may affect the time of purchase, use AHP to establish comparison judgment matrix, computing the maximum value of the matrix, finally obtain the order of the factors, Take measures to save time for the key factors to the front. Results:Applying strategies to the actual procurement process, not only to meet the medical equipment purchase process requirements, and can complete the medical equipment procurement project in the shortest period of time. Conclusion:Using AHP system to guide the purchase of equipment of each link, can significantly improve the efficiency of medical equipment purchase. To achieve a multiplier effect, improve the quality of equipment purchase management.

Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of PDCA cycle quality management in RICU instrument and equipment management. Methods In order to improve the operation quality and efficiency of department management, The PDCA cycle quality management method had been used in the management of RICU instruments and equipment. The effects of PDCA cycle quality management before and after the implementation were compared, and the satisfaction survey was conducted. Results After the implementation of PDCA cycle quality management, the rate of Instruments and equipment with complete accessories was improved (P<0.05), and the rate of equipment with stained surface was significantly reduced (P<0.01). In the analysis of satisfaction survey results, after the implementation of PDCA cycle quality management, the satisfaction of medical staff on instruments and equipment and the satisfaction of patients on inpatient services were significantly improved (P<0.01). Conclusion PDCA cycle quality management method can improve the management efficiency of RICU instrument and equipment, and has high application value in medical equipment management.
Application effect of PDCA circulation on nursing quality management and risk control in digestive endoscopy room

Abstract:To explore the application effect of plan, do, check, action (PDCA) cycle on nursing quality management and risk control in digestive endoscope room. Ninety patients who received digestive endoscopy care before undergoing PDCA circulation mode risk control from January 2022 to April 2022 were selected as the Common group. From May 2022 to December 2022, 156 patients who underwent digestive endoscopy care after undergoing PDCA cycle mode risk control were selected as the PDCA group. Compare the infection status of patients in the endoscope room and the qualification of the air in the endoscope room before and after PDCA circulation management. Compare the respiratory rate, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and nursing satisfaction of patients in the Common group and the PDCA group. Compare the qualified rate of endoscopic cavity disinfection before and after PDCA cycle management, the qualified rate of endoscopic external disinfection, and the management score. Four patients in the Common group developed infection, with an infection rate of 4.44%. One case of infection occurred in the PDCA group, with an infection rate of 0.64%. The qualified rate of the endoscope room air in the Common group was 92.22%, while the qualified rate of the endoscope room air in the PDCA group was 98.72%. Compared with the Common group, the infection rate of patients in the PDCA group significantly decreased, and the qualified rate of air in the endoscope room significantly increased. The respiratory rate, heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, nursing errors, and nursing complaint rates of patients in the PDCA group were significantly lower than those in the Common group, and nursing satisfaction was significantly higher than those in the Common group. The qualified rate of endoscopic cavity disinfection and endoscopic external disinfection in the PDCA group were significantly higher than those in the Common group. Compared with before management, the scores of post management, nursing safety, disinfection and isolation, instruments, theoretical tests, and operational tests of nursing personnel after management increased significantly. The PDCA cycle is well applied in nursing quality management and risk control in the digestive endoscope room.

Abstract:Objective. To study the application and effect of the plan-do-check-action (PDCA) cycle method in implementing the medical record quality management of running medical records at the orthopedics department. Method. Checking and analyzing the problems in the running medical records regularly, then introducing the PDCA cycle method as an intervention for the problematic running medical records, and observing the effects. Result. After the application of the PDCA cycle for 3 months, the quality of the running medical records in the department has shown continuous improvement and the expected effect has been achieved, the percentage of high-quality running medical records reaching about 80% in each check. Conclusion. The PDCA cycle method is the most effective method for managing the quality of the running medical records of the orthopedics department and in improving the quality of the running medical records.

Abstract:Objective Investigate and analysis the medical staff’s cognition and effect evaluation of PDCA circle, in order to provide idea and direction of carrying out the continuous improvement of the medical work quality.Method Adopt questionnaires, extract medical staff of 199 people from various outpatient departments, each ward, medical departments, Paramedical departments as targets to conduct the site survey.Result 99% of respondents are clear about PDCA cycle principle and implementation steps; 89% of respondents considered it necessary to adopt the PDCA cycle method for continuous improvement of medical quality, but only 74.7% of respondents believe that the use of the PDCA cycle will contribute to continuous improvement of medical quality; of which has 84.8% of the nurses consider it helpful, and so is this point from 61.8% of physicians. The difference has statistical significance(α2=12.47,P=0.002).Conclusion By encouraging hospital-wide participation in activities of adopting the PDCA cycle to carry out continuous improvement of medical quality, the medical staffs’ recognition and acceptance of PDCA circle management have been improved, so as to lay a good foundation for continually improvement of the medical quality of the hospital; But physicians’ recognition of the PDCA cycle management methods has yet to be improved.
