Abstract:It is found that nanometer-sized bismuth mediates the allylation of carbonyl compounds in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohol in high yields. Nanometer-sized bismuth is much more effective than regular bismuth powder in this reaction.

Abstract:Tin nano-particles are employed in the Barbier-type allylation reaction of carbonyl compounds in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohols in good yields. The in situ generated allylation intermediates, allyltin(II) bromide and diallyltin dibromide, have been directly observed by using 1H NMR. A mechanism is proposed based on this observation.

Abstract:A novel mediation system, Zn-InCl3 (cat.)/NH4Cl was employed in the Barbier-type allylation. As a result, the allylation with allyl chloride in water took place smoothly under mild conditions. Various aldehydes and even ketones could be employed to afford the corresponding alcohols in high yields. The stereochemistry of the allylation reactions was also briefly discussed.

Abstract:Studies with NaBF4/M (M = Zn or Sn) showed that this novel mediator facilitated allylation of a variety of carbonyl compounds in water and had a great influence on the diastereoselectivity of the addition. More importantly, α- and γ-addition products of crotylations can be alternatively obtained under the control of this novel mediator. A reaction mechanism is proposed based on our quantum calculation and experimental results.

Abstract:The allylations of a variety of carbonyl compounds were carried out smoothly in the presence of phase transfer catalysts (PTC) when mediated by tin or zinc in distilled water, giving rise to the corresponding homoallylic alcohols in excellent yields. Abstract:Indium, tin and bismuth nanoparticles successfully mediated crotylation of carbonylcompounds in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohols with good to excellent yieldsin a short time. The reactivity, regioselectivity and diastereoselectivity of crotylation reactioncould be adjusted by different metal nanoparticles. The crotylations promoted by indiumnanoparticles produced the exclusive γ-adducts with major anti-isomers. Tin nanoparticle-mediated crotylation afforded the major γ-adducts with dominant anti-isomers while bismuthnanoparticle-mediated crotylation produced the major γ-adducts with dominant syn-isomers. Theproposed mechanism for the crotylation was discussed.

Abstract:Copper was found to be able to promote the SnC12-mediated carbonyl allylation reactions in water,giving the corresponding homoallylic alcohol products in very high yields.Detailed studies showed that the reaction could be applied to a variety of carbonyl compounds including those with hydroxyl,amino and nitro groups.It was also found that this reaction showed good regioselectivities for some substrates.Furthermore,carefully controled experiments and in situ NMR measurements provided important insights into the mechanism of the newly developed reaction.

Abstract:A novel mediator (Sn/I-2) has been developed and employed in the allylation and crotylation of various aldehydes and ketones with allyl (crotyl) halide in water. With a catalytic amount of I-2 and less than stoichiometric amounts of Sn, allyl (crotyl) bromide reacts with carbonyl compounds to produce the corresponding alcohols in quantitative yield. Even the inert allyl chloride and crotyl chloride can react with aldehydes to give the corresponding alcohols. The diastereoselectivity and regioseletivity of the reaction have also been studied. Sn/I-2 mediated allylations of aldehydes with crotyl bromide produced dominant adducts with minor alpha-isomers while Sn/I-2 mediated allylations of aldehydes with crotyl chloride afforded dominant alpha-adducts with minor gamma-isomers.

Abstract:Microwave Irradiation£..MWI£©was applied in the allylations of carbonyl compounds in water firstly. In the presence of mediator (Zn/SnCl2) MWI can promote the allylation greatly. Also, the allylation of carbonyl compounds with unactive allyl chloride in water was realized under MWI. The ketones that hardly allylate with allyl halide (Br or Cl) proceeded the allylation smoothly by using MWI to give the corresponding product in good yield. Compared with the traditional aqueous allylation, the reaction yield was improved greatly and the reaction time was reduced dramatically.

Abstract:A cobalt-catalyzed Markovnikov-type hydroboration of terminal alkynes with HBpin to access alpha-alkenyl boronates with good regioselectivity and atom economy is reported. A new ligand has been developed for the cobalt hydride catalyst that has been used for a unique Markovnikov selective insertion of terminal alkynes into metal hydride bond. This operationally simple protocol exhibits excellent functional group tolerance to deliver valuable alkene derivatives.

Abstract:In order to improve the activity of metal,different nano-metals were used as the promoting agents of aqueous Barbier-Grignard type reaction.Globular Sn nanoparticle and Bi nanotube were prepared through reduction methods,and globular In nanoparticle was synthesized through the solvent dispersion method.Stoichiometric Tin nanoparticle or Indium nanoparticle or Bismuth nanotube successfully mediated Barbier-Grignard reaction of 1 mmol benzaldehyde with 1.5~2.0 mmol allyl(or crotyl) bromide in water to afford the corresponding homoallylic alcohols in good to quantitative yields in a short time respectively.The reaction activity,regioslectivity and diastereoselectivity of crotylation reaction could be influened by different nano-metals.Indium nanoparticles promoted the allylations of aldehydes with crotyl bromide to give exclusive γ-adducts with dominant anti-isomers.Tin nanoparticles promoted the allylations of carbonyl compounds with crotyl bromide,and gave most γ-adducts with dominant anti-isomers.Bismuth nanotube promoted the allylations of aromatic aldehydes with crotyl bromide,to give most γ-adducts with dominant syn-isomers.

Abstract:A metal-free 1,4-allylation of azadienes with allyltrimethylsilanes catalyzed by B(C6F5)(3) has been developed. The high Lewis acidity, good thermal stability, and good hydrolytic stability of the catalyst make this reaction efficient and operationally simple. In contrast to the previously reported 1,2-allylation of alpha,beta-unsaturated imines, the 1,4-allylation of azadienes is described here for the first time. Benzofuran-, indene-, dihydronaphthalene-, chromene-, and benzothiophene-based allyl arylmethanes have been obtained in up to 95 % yield.
