Abstract:This paper compared the differences in clinical education between Chinaand America in several respects, e.g. the time the students in clinical practice, the instructional mode,the evaluation mode,the students'personality,the students'learning attitude,the vocational perspective, and the teachers'occupational environment,etc. Then, combined with the confusions of clinical teaching in the reality in China, we discussed the educational reforms in clinical medicine in order to provide some references in the further.

Abstract:The global medical education has experienced about-one hundred-year development though it hasn't completely met the needs of the health system and the populations.Consequently,the Commission on Education of Health Professionals for the 21st Century calls for the global medical education system to move the medical education in the world into the third generation reform—System-based Education.In this paper,we compared the medical education between the mainland in China and in United States,analyzed the differences of the educational programs,curriculum designing,evaluation system,management system between the two countries,and then introduce three future educational approaches in America,to provide reference for our educators and welcome the third generation reform.

Abstract:This paper provides a brief comparative review of the university classroom experience in the People's Republic of China and the United States with a particular emphasis on the way in which the Chinese university classroom experience differs from that of the United States.The review draws to a large degree upon writer's personal experience in both American and Chinese university classrooms.The paper is divided into three sections, the first of which focuses upon the liberal arts classroom experience with the second section focusing upon science and technology classroom experience.The final section offers several recommendations for making the classroom experience in Chinese universities more attractive to American University students.

Abstract:Objective To compare the differences of the teaching process on internal medicine between foreign undergraduates and native undergraduates.Methods The undergraduates of grade 2007 in the Second Clinical College affiliated Capital Medical University,who came from foreign countries or from Beijing,were enrolled into the study.The situations on languages,teachers,textbooks and teaching methods between the two groups were compared during the teaching sessions of Urology System.Results The foreign undergraduates learned the course by English only.The native students learned it by English and Chinese.There were no differences between two groups on teachers levels(P>0.05).The foreign undergraduates used the text books much less than the native students(3.3% vs.100%,χ2=60.10,P<0.001).The rates of active discussion were much higher in foreigners than natives(116.7% vs.50.0%,χ2=6.125,P= 0.013).Conclusion It is necessary for foreign medical undergraduate education to improve teachers English capability,compose proper English text books,and explore new teaching methods.

Abstract:Objective To explore the differences of curricula setting of medical students in China and the United States,and the enlightenment for medical education in China.Methods The curriculum of the 8-year students in Grade 2010 of Peking University was compared with the schedule of medical students in the same grade at the Pittsburgh University,specifically for the number of courses,the distribution of courses,the training of innovative abilities,and the doctor-patient communication courses.All the data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0,and t test and chi-square test were used for statistical analysis.Results The total number of courses in the two medical schools was similar.The number of study weeks per year for Peking University was (41.6 ± 8.7) weeks while that of Pittsburgh University was (39.6 ± 8.5)weeks,without statistically significant difference (t =1.414,P=0.200).Courses of both universities were distributed from comprehensive courses to medical courses and from basic courses to clinical courses,and the professional courses were similar.Innovative ability training and doctor-patient communication education were reflected in the curriculum of both universities,but the training courses of the University of Pittsburgh began earlier and the form was more flexible.Among them,there was a total of 47 learning hours of the doctor-patient communication lecture in Peking University while the number of Pittsburgh University was 140 learning hours,including lectures and communication with standard patients and real patients.The difference was statistically significant (~=67.45,P=0.000).Conclusion After more than 20 years of medical education reform,the curricula of medical students in China have basically reached the level of developed countries.Professional courses are similar to those of medical schools in developed countries.However,it is still necessary to strengthen the cultivation of innovative ability and medical humanities education.

Abstract:Although Xiamen University and Stanford University basically have the same procedures of producing doctors in higher pedagogy,including requirements in aim,length of schooling,course teaching,practice,academic assessment,dissertation,etc.,they both have their own distinctive features in the details of these respects.Because of the great difference between China and America in national conditions and system,we should not copy American mode of producing doctors.But the basic strategies adopted to guarantee American education quality are worth using as a reference.These strategies include the interdisciplinary minor plan,standardized training in research methods,the assistant teacher and researcher system,strict examinations for selecting doctoral candidates,powerful implementation of policies,etc.

Abstract:Objective In order to summarize the common characters of medical education , this research Compared curricula and educational reformation of different counties .The common characters of international medical educa-tion are useful to China's current medical education reformation .Methods This research used method of compara-tive education study to compare the medical education of the U .S, the U.K and Japan.Results Although the medical education program length is different in the 3 countries, they all recognize medical education as professional education .So they all adopt muti-method to test candidates .The curriculum frameworks of medical education pro-gram of 3 countries are different , but the curriculum organization , teaching methodologies , assessment methods are similar.They all have complete quality control system .As the medical education reformation , about half of medical schools in the U .K and Japan have implemented graduate entered medical education program .Conclusions Al-though medical education program length is different in the U .S, the U.K and Japan, they do share some charac-ters.These common characters are useful to medical education reformation and quality control in China .

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To analyze and compare the curriculum and delivery of a Chinese and Australian university-level Chinese medicine program.METHODS: A review of PubMed and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure for relevant educational papers was undertaken. Online and paper documents available at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) were read and analyzed. In addition, in-depth interviews with academics from the two universities were conducted during 2014 to 2015.RESULTS: The two Chinese medicine programs share the common goal of providing health services to the local community, but differ in some aspects when the curricula are compared. Areas such as student profile, curriculum structure, teaching approaches and education quality assurance were found to be different. The UTS program adopts a "flipped learning" approach with the use of educational technology aiming at improving learning outcomes. On the other hand, the CDUTCM has better clinical facilities and specialist physician resources.CONCLUSION: A better understanding of the different curricula and approaches to Chinese medicine education will facilitate student learning and educational outcomes.

Abstract:This paper compared the teaching of Instrument Analysis Experiment of two universities between China and USA on the contents of course,class instruction,teaching hours and check-up system.By comparison,it is found that the contents of two universities are basically the same.While in the teaching process and check-up system,Shaanxi Normal University pays more attention to the basic knowledge,and the American one emphasizes to cultivate the student's practical ability and skills for solving problems.The successful experience of this foreign university will be valuable for our reform in Instrument Analysis Experiment course.
