Abstract:The title compound, C12H9N2+center dot C7H4ClO3-center dot C12H8N2 center dot-C7H5ClO3, contains one phenanthrolinium (Hphen) cation, one phenanthroline (phen) molecule, one 4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoate anion (hcba) and one 4-chloro-2-hydroxybenzoic acid (Hhcba) molecule in the asymmetric unit. The phen molecule is approximately parallel to Hphen, making a dihedral angle of 1.98 (6)degrees. The centroid-centroid distance between pyridine rings of adjacent phen and Hphen species is 3.7718 (15) angstrom, and that between the benzene and pyridine rings of adjacent phen and Hphen species is 3.7922 (16) angstrom, indicative of pi-pi stacking interactions. The crystal structure contains an extensive network of classical (O-H center dot center dot center dot O, N-H center dot center dot center dot N and O-H center dot center dot center dot Cl) and weak (C-H center dot center dot center dot O and C-H center dot center dot center dot N) hydrogen bonds. Finally, C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions are seen between Hphen and hcba and between phen and Hhcba in the crystal structure. The hydroxy group of the anion is disordered over the two sites ortho to the carboxylate group in a 0.75: 0.25 ratio.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C17H16N2O2, contains two crystallographically independent molecules, with methylphenyl and methoxyphenyl substituents in different orientations with respect to the pyrazole ring. In the crystal structure, intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N and C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the molecules; the O-H center dot center dot center dot N bonds generate centrosymmetric dimers, and these are connected by CH center dot center dot center dot O bonds to generate one-dimensional double-stranded chains.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(23)H(12)O(4), contains two nearly parallel independent mol-ecules; the dihedral angles between the phenanthrene ring systems of the two mol-ecules and between the benzene rings of the two mol-ecules are 4.97 (9) and 8.1 (2)°, respectively. In each mol-ecule, the benzene ring is nearly perpendicular to the phenanthrene ring system, with dihedral angles of 86.42 (19) and 86.68 (18)°. π-π stacking exists between the phenanthrene ring systems of the two independent mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.698 (2) Å]. Short intermolec-ular contacts [O⋯O = 2.86 (2) and C⋯O = 2.88 (2) Å] are also present in the crystal structure.
