Study on the Effects of Mifepristone and Misoprostol to Terminate the Medium-Term Pregnancy

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of two different methods of induced abortion to terminate the medium-term pregnancy.METHODS We selected with 50 cases of termination the medium-term pregnancy cases with Rivanol or Mifepristone and Misoprostol in our hospitals by randomly,such as comparing the situation of two groups:the average total labor time,2h post-partum bleeding,residual placental membrane,birth trauma,the success rate of labor induction.RESULTS Mifepristone and Misoprostol terminated the medium-term pregnancy were that average total labor time was short,less postpartum bleeding 2h,the low rate of placental membrane residues and the low incidence of birth trauma than with Rivanol.The success rate difference between the two induction was not significant.CONCLUSIONS To terminate the medium-term pregnancy with Mifepristone and misoprostol that induction time can be shortened to reduce the amount of postpartum hemorrhage and lower residual rate of the placenta and fetal membranes the incidence of birth trauma.It is worthy to be popularized.
