Retrospective Analysis of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Combined with Hepatitis C Virus

Abstract:Objective To evaluate prevalence rate and influencing factors of human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) and hepatitis C virus(HCV) co-infection by making epidemiological investigation and statistical analysis.Methods Data of outpatients and inpatients which infected with HIV in each hospital from 2006 to 2008 were recorded in unified epidemiological questionnaires.HIV antibodies,liver function and CD4 cells were detected.Risk factors of HCV and HIV co-infection were analyzed with the multiple regression method.Results Out of 978 patients who infected with HIV,the HIV and HCV co-infection rate was 33.9%.The rate of cases which infected with HIV by intravenous injection of drugs was account for 81.3% among patients that infected with HIV and HCV.In the group aged from 30 to 40,the HIV and HCV co-infection rate was 42.6% and the HIV and HCV co-infection rate of the unemployed person was 61.9%.The co-infection rates of this group mentioned before were significantly higher than that of other groups.Conclusion The HIV and HCV co-infection rate is relatively high among people aged from 30 to 45 and the unemployed person.Intravenous injection of drugs is the major transmission route of HIV and HCV co-infection.
