Abstract:We provide a general study on quadratic Poisson structures on a vector space. In particular, we obtain a decomposition for any quadratic Poisson structures. As an application, we classify all the three-dimensional quadratic Poisson structures up to a Poisson diffeomorphism.

Abstract:In this letter, first we give a decomposition for any Lie-Poisson structure $\pi_g$ associated to the modular vector. In particular, $\pi_g$ splits into two compatible Lie-Poisson structures if $dim{g} \leq 3$. As an application, we classified quadratic deformations of Lie-Poisson structures on $\mathbb R^3$ up to linear diffeomorphisms.

Abstract:Poisson homogeneous spaces for Poisson groupoids are classified in terms of Dirac structures for the corresponding Lie bialgebroids. Applications include Drinfel'd's classification in the case of Poisson groups and a description of leaf spaces of foliations as homogeneous spaces of pair groupoids.

Abstract:We present a class of Poisson structures on trivial extension algebras which generalize some known structures induced by Poisson modules. We show that there exists a one-to-one correspondence between such a class of Poisson structures and some data involving (not necessarily flat) contravariant derivatives, and then we give a formulation of this result in terms of Lie algebroids. Some properties of the first Poisson cohomology are also presented. Examples coming from Poisson modules and Poisson submanifolds are given.

Compatible Poisson structures on multiplicative quiver varieties

Abstract:Any multiplicative quiver variety is endowed with a Poisson structure constructed by Van den Bergh through reduction from a Hamiltonian quasi-Poisson structure. The smooth locus carries a corresponding symplectic form defined by Yamakama through quasi-Hamiltonian reduction. In this note, we include the Poisson structure as part of a pencil of compatible Poisson structures on the multiplicative quiver variety. The pencil is defined by reduction from a pencil of Hamiltonian quasi-Poisson structures which has dimension $\ell(\ell-1)/2$, where $\ell$ is the number of arrows in the underlying quiver. For each element of the pencil, we exhibit the corresponding compatible symplectic or quasi-Hamiltonian structure. We comment on analogous constructions for character varieties and quiver varieties. This formalism is applied to the spin Ruijsenaars-Schneider phase space in order to explain the compatibility of two Poisson structures that have recently appeared in the literature.

On deformation quantization of quadratic Poisson structures

Abstract:We study the deformation complex of the dg wheeled properad of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded quadratic Poisson structures and prove that it is quasi-isomorphic to the even M. Kontsevich graph complex. As a first application we show that the Grothendieck-Teichmüller group acts on the genus completion of that wheeled properad faithfully and essentially transitively. As a second application we classify all universal quantizations of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded quadratic Poisson structures together with the underlying (so called) homogeneous formality maps. In particular we show that two universal quantizations of Poisson structures are equivalent if the agree on generic quadratic Poisson structures.

Abstract:Poisson algebras have become an essential topic in mathematics with a rich structure and wide applicability. Despite numerous resources available on Poisson structures, the algebraic side of the story remains relatively less explored. This paper presents an extended version of a mini-course given during the virtual Winter School and Workshop "Wisla 20-21." The course covers various aspects of Poisson algebras, focusing on both algebraic and geometric perspectives. While most of the lectures cover established results, the final chapter includes recent classification results on "low rank" double quadratic Poisson brackets.

Some Remarks on Dirac Structures and Poisson Reductions

Abstract:Dirac structures are characterized in terms of their characteristic pairs dened in this note and then Poisson reductions are discussed from the point of view of Dirac structures. 1. Introduction. Dirac structures on manifolds include closed 2-forms, Poisson structures, and foliations which were introduced by Courant and Weinstein and thor- oughly investigated in (2). Their Lie algebroid version was developed by Weinstein, Xu and the author in (6) and (7). In this note, we characterize a Dirac structure in terms of its characteristic pair (D; ), which consists of a subbundle and a bivector eld. One can see that it becomes more convenient to check the integrability and to study the reduction of a Dirac structure described this way. In the Lie bialgebra case, such a description is given by Diatta and Menida in (3). As natural generalizations of symplectic reductions, Poisson reductions admit many applications. There are already several versions and dieren t approaches for doing it, e.g., Marsden and Ratiu's theorem in (10) and that in (13) given by Weinstein by means of the coisotropic calculus. In fact, it is also an original purpose of the construction of Dirac structures to describe Poisson reductions. Of course, the same conclusion can be obtained from all of other approaches. But, anyway, we wish to illuminate more geometric pictures and algebraic relations behind the Poisson reduction in order to construct a unied framework for its various generalizations (e.g., (1), (4), (8), (11) and (12)) by use of the theory of Dirac structure, which has been shown to be a powerful tool as well as a beautiful theory.
Towards a quadratic Poisson algebra for the subtracted classical monodromy of Symmetric Space Sine-Gordon theories

Abstract:Symmetric Space Sine-Gordon theories are two-dimensional massive integrable field theories, generalising the Sine-Gordon and Complex Sine-Gordon theories. To study their integrability properties on the real line, it is necessary to introduce a subtracted monodromy matrix. Moreover, since the theories are not ultralocal, a regularisation is required to compute the Poisson algebra for the subtracted monodromy. In this article, we regularise and compute this Poisson algebra for certain configurations, and show that it can both satisfy the Jacobi identity and imply the existence of an infinite number of conserved quantities in involution.

Abstract:The authors of the Comment [G. M. D'Ariano and C. Macchiavello to be published in Phys. Rev. A, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="quant-ph/9701009" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/9701009">quant-ph/9701009</a>] tried to reestablish a 0.5 efficiency bound for loss compensation in optical homodyne tomography. In our reply we demonstrate that neither does such a rigorous bound exist nor is the bound required for ruling out the state reconstruction of an individual system [G. M. D'Ariano and H. P. Yuen, Phys. Rev. Lett. 76, 2832 (1996)].

Abstract:Similar to the modular vector fields in Poisson geometry, modular derivations are defined for smooth Poisson algebras with trivial canonical bundle. By twisting Poisson module with the modular derivation, the Poisson cochain complex with values in any Poisson module is proved to be isomorphic to the Poisson chain complex with values in the corresponding twisted Poisson module. Then a version of twisted Poincaré duality is proved between the Poisson homologies and cohomologies. Furthermore, a notion of pseudo-unimodular Poisson structure is defined. It is proved that the Poisson cohomology as a Gerstenhaber algebra admits a Batalin-Vilkovisky operator inherited from some one of its Poisson cochain complex if and only if the Poisson structure is pseudo-unimodular. This generalizes the geometric version due to P. Xu. The modular derivation and Batalin-Vilkovisky operator are also described by using the dual basis of the Kähler differential module.

Abstract:We present a construction of weak graded Lie 2-algebras associated with quasi-Poisson groupoids. We also establish a morphism between this weak graded Lie 2-algebra of multiplicative forms and the strict graded Lie 2-algebra of multiplicative multivector fields, allowing us to compare and relate different aspects of Lie 2-algebra theory within the context of quasi-Poisson geometry. As an infinitesimal analogy, we explicitly determine the associated weak graded Lie 2-algebra structure of IM forms for any quasi-Lie bialgebroid.

Abstract:In analogy to the KP theory, the second Poisson structure for the dispersionless KP hierarchy can be defined on the space of commutative pseudodifferential operators L = p^n + ∑_j = - ∞^n - 1u_j p^j . The reduction of the Poisson structure to the symplectic submanifold u_n - 1 = 0 gives rise to W-algebras. In this Letter, we discuss properties of this Poisson structure, its Miura transformation and reductions. We are particularly interested in the following two cases: (a) L is pure polynomial in p with multiple roots and (b) L has multiple poles at finite distance. The w-algebra corresponding to the case (a) is defined as w_[ m_1 ,m_2 , ··· ,m_r ] , where m_i means the multiplicity of roots and to the case (b) is defined by w( n,[ m_1 ,m_2 , ··· ,m_r ]) where m_i is the multiplicity of poles. We prove that w( n,[ m_1 ,m_2 , ··· ,m_r ]) -algebra is isomorphic via a transformation to W_[ m_i ,m_2 , ··· ,m_r ] ⊕ w_n + m ⊕ U(1) with m=σ m_i . We also give the explicit free fields representations for these W-algebras.

Abstract:We introduce a new class of Poisson structures on a Riemannian manifold. A Poisson structure in this class will be called a Killing-Poisson structure. The class of Killing-Poisson structures contains the class of symplectic structures, the class of Poisson structures studied in{\it (Differential Geometry and its Applications, {\bf Vol. 20, Issue 3} (2004), 279--291)} and the class of Poisson structures induced by some infinitesimal Lie algebras actions on Riemannian manifolds. We show that some classical results on symplectic manifolds (the integrability of the Lie algebroid structure associated to a symplectic structure, the non exactness of a symplectic structure on a compact manifold) remain valid for regular Killing-Poisson structures.

Abstract:Let X be a projective smooth holomorphic Poisson surface, in other words, whose anti-canonical divisor is effective. We show that moduli spaces of certain Bridgeland stable objects on X are smooth. Moreover, we construct Poisson structures on these moduli spaces.

Abstract:The study of regular incidence structures such as projective planes and symmetric block designs is a well established topic in discrete mathematics. Work of Bruck, Ryser and Chowla in the mid-twentieth century applied the Hasse-Minkowski local-global theory for quadratic forms to derive non-existence results for certain design parameters. Several combinatorialists have provided alternative proofs of this result, replacing conceptual arguments with algorithmic ones. In this paper, we show that the methods required are purely linear-algebraic in nature and are no more difficult conceptually than the theory of the Jordan Canonical Form. Computationally, they are rather easier. We conclude with some classical and recent applications to design theory, including a novel application to the decomposition of incidence matrices of symmetric designs.

Deformation Quantization of Certain Non-linear Poisson Structures

Abstract:As a generalization of the linear Poisson bracket on the dual space of a Lie algebra, we introduce certain non-linear Poisson brackets which are ``cocycle perturbations'' of the linear Poisson bracket. We show that these special Poisson brackets are equivalent to Poisson brackets of central extension type, which resemble the central extensions of an ordinary Lie bracket via Lie algebra cocycles. We are able to formulate (strict) deformation quantizations of these Poisson brackets by means of twisted group C*-algebras. We also indicate that these deformation quantizations can be used to construct some specific non-compact quantum groups.

Abstract:Berwick-Evens and Lerman recently showed that the category of vector fields on a geometric stack has the structure of a Lie $2$-algebra. Motivated by this work, we present a construction of graded weak Lie $2$-algebras associated with quasi-Poisson groupoids based on the space of multiplicative forms on the groupoid and differential forms on the base manifold. We also establish a morphism between the Lie $2$-algebra of multiplicative multivector fields and the weak Lie $2$-algebra of multiplicative forms, allowing us to compare and relate different aspects of Lie $2$-algebra theory within the context of quasi-Poisson geometry. As an infinitesimal analogy, we explicitly determine the associated weak Lie $2$-algebra structure of IM $1$-forms along with differential $1$-forms on the base manifold for any quasi-Lie bialgebroid.
