Abstract:With four developments process of the year of 1992,1998,2001,and from 2006 to 2014,the Chinese Enterprises Accounting Standards were gradually jointed track with international standards. Because of Chinese particularity,the Chinese Enterprises Accounting Standards are still different from the international Enterprises Accounting Standards in order to adapt with the utilization of actual accounting treatment in line with the Chinese corporate governance.

Abstract:Contrasted with the old accounting standards,the New Chinese Accounting Standards (NCAS),being in effect since 2007 for listed companies,is balance-sheet-based and provides more measurement at fair values and more recognition of intangible assets.We use a sample from the listed companies through 2005-2008 to examine the effects of this shift in accounting regulations on accounting quality.We find that the earnings persistence and earning response coefficient have decreased,while the association between stock prices and book values has increased after the transition to NCAS.The former is found to be driven by more measurement at fair values,and the latter is attributed to more recognition of intangible assets and more measurement at fair value.

Abstract:After 2000, with the Chinese reform in market economics, the standard in accounting, which includes the account code and systems, takes great changes. Based upon the assembling theory and logical reason of extenics, this paper analyzes the conflicting problems between the former two completely, such as the containing ability in economic factors, extensive reform in accounting systems, the related net and divergent tree in account code, the interaction conversion between two standards, and its self-contradict solution. It presents the dynamic target and formal inevitability of the account code and systems upon the conjugant pair theory. At last, it reaches the cognition of the developmental purpose in accounting standard.

Abstract:This paper investigates whether the usefulness of accounting profitability in debt contracts changes after the adoption of the new Chinese accounting standards (“NCAS”) in 2007. We find that the sensitivity of new debts to accounting profitability declines after the adoption and that firms are heavily influenced by the adoption of the new accounting standards and experience a more significant decrease in sensitivity. Moreover, such a decrease in sensitivity is more pronounced for non-state-owned companies than for state-owned companies. Overall, our results indicate that the usefulness of accounting profitability decreases after the adoption of the new accounting standards.

Abstract:In order to do a good job in financial management, enterprises must start with accounting standards and give full play to the role of financial management. At present, China's enterprise accounting standards have been revised several times in accordance with the development direction of international accounting standards, which shows that China's financial management level has improved, which means that the development of enterprise financial management needs more indepth study of enterprise accounting standards. Starting from the relationship between accounting standards and financial management, this paper points out the important changes of accounting standards, expounds the influence and role of international convergence of accounting standards on financial management, and accordingly points out which measures enterprises should take under the background of the current new accounting standards.

The Effect of the New Accounting Standards on Value Relevance of Accounting Information

Abstract:This paper investigates the effect of the new accounting standards on the value relevance of accounting information.We find that value relevance of accounting information is improved after the adoption of new standards,especially for items affected by the standards. We further analyze the contribution from the fair value method on the information improve- ment of the affected items.We find that for non-financial industries,items not measured by fair value are less value relevant than those measured by fair value,but for financial industries there is no significant difference between the two.Our results suggest that the new account- ing standards improves the unreasonable parts under the old standards and the overall ac- counting information quality.The improvement is not from taking the fair value method blindly,but from considering some methods all together.

Abstract:Serverys on"Reconciliation statement on differences of shareholders' equity based on old and new accounting standards"in annual report 2006 of 1412 firms,the paper find that:1420 firms' shareholders' equity change by conducting new accounting standards, 62.75 percent of all firms change in the range from-10 to 10 percent;90.72 percent of all firms changed in the range from-10 to 10 percent after ignoring the effect of minority shareholders' equity.Accountings for the income tax and balance of long-term equity investment have more influence on listed companies.The conclusions are:it is smooth transition that new accounting standards are conducted firstly in Listed companies;conservative fair value measurement model is used successfully.

Abstract:Beginning on January 1, 2007, all Chinese-listed companies were forced to implement the new set of accounting standards released by the Ministry of Finance in 2006. Using the first-quarter data for 2007 and then conducting robust tests with annual data, the authors found empirical support for their conclusions regarding the implementation and effects of accounting standards. Based on new institutional economics theory, they concluded that when the same accounting standards were implemented throughout China, the consequences were significantly different in various regions depending on the regional level of economic development and growth rate. The study's most important contribution is its enhancement of the understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) implementation around the world.

Abstract:This paper investigates the effect of new accounting standards on stock prices.By using"the reconciliation statement of stockholder equity between the new and old accounting standards",disclosed together with the annual reports of 2006,the authors find that stock prices do not react to the total changes of shareholders' equity in the reconciliation statement,but react to the items which are unexpected and related to future earnings significantly.The results not only provide evidence that the new accounting standard has effect on valuations, but also show that the market can differentiate the changes between the formats and substances brought by the new standards.

Abstract:In recent years, with the rapid development of China's economy, derivative financial instruments are more widely used in China's enterprises. This paper studies the accounting for derivative financial instruments, which brings great challenges and risks to the development of many enterprises because of its high stakes and high returns. Therefore, to deal with the challenges, China should reformulate accounting confirmation standards, adopt a variety of value measurement, improve accounting statements, strengthen the accounting supervision of derivative instruments risks and other scientific and effective coping strategies.

Abstract:Accounting standards overload extensively manifests the contradiction between the supply and the demand of accounting standards,which arises usually with the expansion of accounting standards.The phenomena of accounting standards overload are introduced through several typical examples in USA.Furthermore,accounting standards overload is classified into three categories:technical overload of accounting standards;economic overload of accounting standards;mixed overload of accounting standards.And then a deep perspective on standards overload is displayed concerning its historical reasons and social influences.Finally,through reviewing and commenting on relevant researches on how to control and relieve standards overload in U.S.A.,some helpful enlightenments are obtained for the accounting standards set down in China using a simple SWOT analysis.

Abstract:The accounting standards system is the basis for the preparation of accounting information and determines to a large extent the quality of accounting information. For this reason, China has standardized its governmental accounting system so that it can accurately reflect the assets, liabilities and operating costs of enterprises. Under the new system, the financial management and financial work of institutions of higher education have changed greatly, so the accounting system and accounting reports of institutions of higher education have also been adjusted accordingly. In the process of actual operation, the new standard system will be the former administrative institutions relatively decentralized accounting standard system, and the accounting management content to integrate, so as to improve the government's comprehensive accounting report, thus improving the quality of accounting information and the accounting status of the unit budget. Reflecting the status of implementation with the new accounting standards enables the two purposes of government accounting to be effectively realized.

Abstract:The accounting management determines the capital investment, daily operation and future development of enterprises, so enterprises put forward higher requirements for accounting management. Based on the background of the new normal economy, in order to improve the competitive strength of enterprises and better cope with market changes, the paper introduces fine management in accounting work, and analyzes the characteristics and significance of fine management of accounting work. Applying fine management to modern enterprise accounting work can meet the needs of process management, help enterprises determine the strategic positioning, and master the management data.
