Abstract:A three-dimension discrete neural network model with muti-delays is obtained using Euler method.Furthermore,the linear stability of the model is studied using the discrete dynamic system theorem.Some conditions of ensuring the stability and the Hopf bifurcations are obtained.Finally,some numerical simulation supports our results.

Abstract:A bifurcation analysis is undertaken for a discrete-time Hopfield neural network with four delays. Conditions ensuring the asymptotic stability of the null solution are obtained with respect to two parameters of the system. Using techniques developed by Kuznetsov to a discrete-time system, we study the Neimark-Sacker bifurcation (also called Hopf bifurcation for maps) of the system. The direction and the stability of the Neimark-Sacker bifurcation are investigated by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem.

Abstract:In this paper, a two-neuron network with different time delays is investigated. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, we obtain the conditions for delay-dependent and delay-independent asymptotic stability, respectively. Furthermore, we find that if the delay is used as a bifurcation parameter, Hopf bifurcation would occur. The direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by using the Nyquist criterion and the graphical Hopf bifurcation theorem. Some examples are included to illustrate our results.

Abstract:A kind of three-layer neural network with time delays is introduced. By analyzing its associated characteristic equation, local stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation of the system are investigated. By using the normal form method and center manifold theorem, formulas to determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solution are obtained. Numerical simulation results are also given to support our theoretical predictions.

The general formula of the direction, the estimation formula of period and stability of bifurcated periodic solutions are also studied. Finally, the numerical simulations are given to illustrate the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:This paper studies the stability and Hopf bifurcation in a class of high-dimension neural network involving the discrete and distributed delays under a new framework. By introducing some virtual neurons to the original system, the impact of distributed delay can be described in a simplified way via an equivalent new model. This paper extends the existing works on neural networks to high-dimension cases, which is much closer to complex and real neural networks. Here, we first analyze the Hopf bifurcation in this special class of high dimensional model with weak delay kernel from two aspects: one is induced by the time delay, the other is induced by a rate parameter, to reveal the roles of discrete and distributed delays on stability and bifurcation. Sufficient conditions for keeping the original system to be stable, and undergoing the Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Besides, this new framework can also apply to deal with the case of the strong delay kernel and corresponding analysis for different dynamical behaviors is provided. Finally, the simulation results are presented to justify the validity of our theoretical analysis.

Abstract:The paper studies the dynamical behaviors of a recurrent neural network model consisting of three neurons with time delays through theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. The local stability of the trivial equilibrium of the network is analyzed and the sufficient conditions of the existence of Hopf bifurcation are given by discussing the associated characteristic equation. The direction and stability of the bifurcated periodic oscillations arising from Hopf bifurcation, which depend on the nonlinear terms of the network, are determined by means of the normal form and the center manifold theorem. Afterwards, numerical examples are performed to validate the theoretical analysis. The case studies of numerical simulations reach nice agreement with the theoretical results.

Abstract:The dynamics of Hopfield neural networks with continuously distributed delays is considered. By utilizing Lyapunov functional approach combing with inequality analysis technique, a new sufficient condition which guarantees global exponential stability of an equilibrium point is presented. Compared with the previous results, our result does not require that the activation functions of the neurons satisfy the Lipschitz condition which is usually used in the literature. Thus, our result is less conservative than some of the earlier references.

Abstract:This paper studies the stability and Hopf bifurcation in a high-dimension neural network involving the discrete and distributed delays. Such model extends the existing models of neural networks from low-dimension to high-dimension. Therefore, our model is much close to large real neural networks. Here, the delay is chosen as the bifurcation parameter and we obtain the sufficient conditions for the system keeping stable and undergoing the Hopf bifurcation. Moreover, the software package DDE-BIFTOOL is introduced to better display the properties of the system and the effect of gain parameters of the system and delay kernel on the onset of the bifurcation. The simulation results further justify the validity of our theoretical analysis.

Abstract:The stability of discrete Hopfield neural networks with delay is mainly studied by the use of the state transition equation and the energy function, and some results on the stability are given. The sufficient conditions for the networks with delay converging towards a limit cycle with length 4 are presented. Also, one condition ensuring the network with delay having neither a stable state nor a limit cycle with length 2 is given. The obtained results here partially extend some existing results on stability of discrete Hopfield neural network with delay and without delay.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of complex-valued neural network model with discrete and distributed delays is proposed. Regarding the discrete time delay as the bifurcating parameter, the problem of Hopf bifurcation in the newly-proposed complex-valued neural network model is investigated under the assumption that the activation function can be separated into its real and imaginary parts. Based on the normal form theory and center manifold theorem, some sufficient conditions which determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are established. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the validity of the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the numerical approximation of a n-dimension neural network model with multi-delays undergoing a Hopf bifurcation. We prove that if the neural network model has a Hopf bifurcation point at τ=τ∗, then the discrete neural network model obtained by Euler-method also has a Hopf bifurcation point at τh=τ∗+O(h).

Abstract:A neural network model with three neurons and a single delay is considered. The existence of local Hopf bifurcations is first considered and then explicit formulas are derived by using the normal form method and center manifold theory to determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. A global Hopf bifurcation theorem due to Wu and a Bendixson's criterion for high-dimensional ODE due to Li and Muldowney are used to obtain a group of conditions for the system to have multiple periodic solutions when the delay is sufficiently large. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to support the theoretical analysis of the research.

Abstract:This paper investigates the stability and Hopf bifurcation in a class of neural networks with two neurons. This model involves discrete and distributed delays described by an integral with a strong delay kernel. By analysing the distribution of roots of the characteristic equation of the associated linearized system, the conditions for creating the Hopf bifurcation can be obtained. Besides, the delay is chosen as the bifurcation parameter and we find that the equilibrium is asymptotically stable when the delay is less than a critical value while the system undergoes a Hopf bifurcation when the delay exceeds the critical value. Finally, the software package DDE-BIFTOOL is applied to neural networks and the simulation results justify the validity of our theoretical analysis.
