Abstract:As datacenter networks become increasingly programmable with proliferating network functions, network programming languages have emerged to simplify the program development of the network functions. While network functions exhibit high level abstraction over operations on the traffic flow and the interconnections among the operations, the existing languages usually require programming with detailed knowledge about the packet processing patterns at the switches. Such a mismatch between the program abstraction and development details makes developing network functions a nontrivial task. To solve the problem, this paper introduces the easy path programming (EP2) framework. EP2 offers a high-level abstraction to simplify the program design process of the network functions. EP2 also provides a language that captures the common properties of network functions and uses predicates and primitives as basic language components. Specifically, predicates describe when to handle a flow with a global view of the flow dynamics; and primitives describe how to choose a path for a specific flow. Furthermore, EP2 has its own runtime system to support the language and the abstraction model, especially to hide the low level packet-processing behavior at the data plane from the programmers. Throughout this paper, cases are given to illustrate the EP2 abstraction model, language details and benefits. The expressiveness of EP2, the potential overhead of the runtime system and the efficiency of the network functions generated by EP2 are evaluated. The results show that EP2 can achieve comparable performance while reducing programming efforts.

Abstract:The necessity of developing enterprise-modeling system based on Internet/Intranet is emphasized in this paper. Aiming at the goal of this system , on the base of analyzing the characteristics of two typical developing tools, Java and C++, a plan of selecting developing tools is described. Abstract:In order to speed up network modeling in distribution network automation,overall network was divided into five layers with different date structures on the basis of distribution network characteristics.The space for the data was saved.And the object-oriented technology was used in the network modeling.Both static global topology and dynamic local topology were used to reduce searching range and speed up network modeling.The experimental results show that the method improves the speed of network topology,and it illustrates a good prospect of application and extention.

Abstract:NS(Network Simulator) has always been widely used in network simulation.However,some of its shortcomings such as difficulty in use,lack of long-range simulation support have limited its development.This paper proposes a remote visualization simulation system based on NS2 and gives the implementing method.We use Flex and the ActionScript programming language to develop the client program.In addition,we use component technology to develop the library of scenarios and a distributed component autonomy model to realize the automatic generation of the script.Then the system conveys the script to the server and the NS2 child process executes this script by remote calling.Meanwhile,the third-party software library Gawk and Pnuplot are integrated to analyze the simulation results and realize the curves description and the animation show of the results,which ensures that protocol researchers can have an intuitive and in-depth understanding of the complex network behavior.It provides a good platform for the users who are learning computer network remotely.

Abstract:Although the socket API is the defact standard of network programming interface nowadays, it suffers from some shortages as high complexity of interface, poor support for protocol-independent programming, and low cross-platform capability. Concerning these problems, cross-platform and protocol-independent network programming techniques are studied. Furthermore, a cross-platform protocol-independent network class library is implemented with C++, which supports both Windows and Linux, protocol-independent network programming, unicast, ASM and SSM multicast, supports both UDP and TCP transmission,and standard I/O stream based on TCP communication. It validated that this class library has accomplished the cross-platform and protocol-independent design goal through application in a practical network measurement system.

Abstract:This paper outlines a comprehensive model to increase system efficiency, preserve network bandwidth, monitor incoming and outgoing packets, ensure the security of confidential files and reduce power wastage in an organization. This model illustrates the use and potential application of a Network Analysis Tool (NAT) in a multi-computer set-up of any scale. The model is designed to run in the background and not hamper any currently executing applications, while using minimum system resources. It was developed as open source software, using VB. Net, with a view to overcoming limitations of legacy systems and financial restrictions in small-to mid-level organizations like businesses and educational institutes. It is fully-customizable and serves as a simple and open-source alternative to existing software. The NAT relies on simple client-server architecture and uses remote access to monitor and maintain the computers on a network, for example logging off a user or shutting down a computer after a certain "idle" time, enabling and disabling applications, troubleshooting and so on. The NAT was tested in a laboratory and resultant data is presented, along with the results of a survey that was conducted among users.
