Effects of Temperature and TS on Anaerobic Fermentation of the Diary Manure in Producing Biogases

Abstract:To find out the optimal temperature and TS to anaerobic fermentation of the diary manure for producing biogases,the variations of pH and productions of biogases during the anaerobic fermentation of diary manure were studied under the TS(total solids) concentrations of 6%,8%,10% and the temperatures of 30 ℃,35 ℃,40 ℃,45 ℃,50 ℃,respectively.The results show that with the time of anaerobic fermentation increasing,under different TS,when the temperatures are 30 ℃,35 ℃,50 ℃,the pH values decrease first and then increase,otherwise,when the temperatures are 40 ℃,45 ℃,the pH values decrease slightly and then keep steady.Under a certain temperature,the tendencies of the biogases produced by the diary manure of different TS concentrations are consistent,and with the temperatures increasing,time to the optimal biogases production becomes shorter.Considering biogas production rates and energy consumption,the optimal conditions for anaerobic fermentation of diary manure are 35℃ and the TS with 8%.
