Abstract:Objective To investigate young doctors' recognition and application state of epidemiology,in order to provide a scientific evidence for the promotion of epidemiological teaching of medical students.Methods 155 young doctors from the seven subsidiary hospitals of two colleges in Beijing were enrolled in the survey with self-designed questionnaire.Results The proportion of young doctors who be lieve epidemiological importance changed from 42.6％ in school stage to 79.9％ in clinical stage,the proportion of young doctors who pay attention to epidemiology changed from 35.5％ in school stage to 72.7％ in clinical stage,both of difference were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).More than 70.0％ young doctors affirmed the epidemiological assistance in clinical practice and research work,but the proportion of young doctors who affirmed epidemiological assistance in knowledge acquisition was relatively low,was 57.8％.The use proportion of epidemiological contents in project design was higher than literature reading data analysis.The use proportion of case-control study,clinical trials,biases and their control,cohort study and descriptive study were top five in literature reading,project design and data analysis three as pects.And the use proportion of evidence-based medicine was ranked in second place in literature reading.These were high use frequent contents.Conclusions Young doctors' recognition of epidemiology was improved gradually in clinical stage.Epidemiology plays an important role in clinical research and practice of young doctors.Emphasis on epidemiological undergraduate teaching and continuing education are helpful for young doctors' clinical research.
