Abstract:To improve design efficiency, realize fast-customization and design knowledge reusing, a configuration product design methodology is presented based on modularization. First, the object-oriented theory is used to define the concept of component and configuration design. Then, the key issues such as product element identification, product element clustering, and product element class abstraction and encapsulation during the process of component forming are discussed in detail. After that, the theory and methodology of component forming and using are proposed based on the definition of the component, and the process of configuration design is given. Furthermore, the mathematical model of the configuration system is established. Finally, an example of configuration design is given to illustrate the validity of the theory and methodology of configuration design.

Abstract:In this paper a scalable workflow management system based on control configuration art is present after analyzing the characteristics of traditional workflow management system. The thought of separating route rules from task operation oriented configuration technology is deeply used in the system implementing. A common framework is abstracted and introduced during the study of the model of the workflow system. After that, the implementation schemes of the system and the configuration language are presented. The field experience shows the design of the system is drastically to reduce development time and more scalable.

Abstract:To improve design efficiency and design knowledge reuse so as to realize rapid response design with low-cost,a product configuration design method based on object-oriented theory was presented.Extensibility of the proposed method was studied.At first,basic concepts of module,configuration design based on object-oriented theory were formally described.Modular model was set up corresponding to matter-element model.Afterwards,the extension-set and adjustment modes of the module were discussed.Based on the analysis on customers' requirements by the property layout matrix,modules matching object characteristics were found from qualitative perspective,and modules' property value was confirmed from quantitative perspective,thereby these modules' instances were assembled into configuration product.Finally,an example of operation table for product line was presented to validate the configuration design method.

Abstract:A new theory and method of configuration product variant design for mass customization was presented based on the study of developing principle of variant design in integrated platform, which focused on the innovation and reuse properties for configuration product. A serial recursive design methods were defined, which are applicable to various abstract levels and types of configuration models for diverse design domain levels of configuration product. The leap of the design process and the inherition of the design information were realized by fuzzy reasoning, fuzzy derivation and flexible aggregation among the configuration rules of various design domains, levels and types. A serial methods for derived evolution, associated evolution and alternative evolution were proposed to join the history of configuration units' evolutional deduction and the process of configuration design. In this way, the automation, recursion and video of the scheme design of complex configuration product were achieved. Furthermore, the new method was applied successfully to the modeling for some projects, and application results showed the utility, flexibility and robustness of the new technology.

Abstract:Configuration design provides designers with a quick and cost-efficient way to develop new products. However, due to the initial complexity of industrial manufacturing systems, the number of alternative configurations from which designers select the most suitable one is too large. Considering the three main tasks relating to configuration design (i.e., modularisation, representation and evaluation), the authors review current configuration design approaches for the complex systems. Then, the authors point out there exists a gap between the representation task and evaluation task. Finally, a method which can improve the configuration design of industrial manufacturing systems is proposed.

Abstract:The diagram configuration data of the traditional diagram configuration simulation software are mostly stored in the form of stream document or database,and the program strongly relies on data structure,so it is difficult to upgrade,maintain and reuse the software.In this paper the core frame of simulation software of flight control and guide system is designed.Then it is established class hierarchy of model storeroom and designed the model storeroom of it.It improves diagram configuration database by object-oriented layered design method,also gives methods of creating and visiting the XML document of diagram configuration data of control system.By analyses,it can effectively improve recognition efficiency of diagram data and efficiency of the software by using the XML technology.

Abstract:To achieve the consistency of interaction semantics between customer and designer, and good mapping form function domain to design domain in mass-customized product configuration design, a from of product requirement meta-information is introduced using tabular layouts of article characteristics to keep consistent presentation of product information in different applications through standardizing the product data format. The product function-structure-model for configuration design and the optimization strategy in product configuration process are presented accordingly. Finally, an instance is given to illustrate their application in an elevator reductor project.

Abstract:Product customization has been recognized as an effective means to implement mass customization. The axiomatic principles of product function-structural model are proposed for diverse design domain levels of axiomatic design. The process of product configuration is categorized into first class of product module quasi configuration and second class of accessory structure similar configuration. In the condition of the parts configuration restriction, according to the product structure levels, the different configuration unit combination instance is selected. The isomeric knowledge description method based on XML and semantic rules is given, and the isomeric knowledge transformation technology based on ontology is described. Based on that, the CAD/PDM integrated platform which supports multi-domain knowledge application is put forward. Furthermore, the product axiomatic design and configuration integration method has been successfully applied in the design of some projects and achieves positive responses in its utility, flexibility and robustness

Abstract:An integrated configuration design method is presented to solve the complexity in configuration design, where the task is accomplished by the integration of the following three related processes: (1) adopting the case matching technology to search satisfied design solutions from the existing cases; (2) expanding the domain knowledge to support the solving of modules configuration problem and the key parameters assignment depending on the knowledge intensively; (3) selecting the evolutionary algorithm to solve the parametric optimization problem, in which the scheme of constraints checking and redesign rules is presented to process the complex configuration constraints. And the validity of the method is verified via a case study of a worm reducer.

Abstract:Due to complicated development process and low reusability of production planning and scheduling software system in process industry,a configuration pattern technique was proposed for development of production planning and scheduling system.The new software system could be generated rapidly by drawing configuration method which could combine with defined algorithms.Based on this method,a general configuration pattern software for designing production planning and scheduling system of process industry was developed.Application examples indicated that this technique and software could improve the development efficiency for production planning and scheduling system of process industry.

Abstract:The design of manufacturing systems is a knowledge-intensive activity in which designers from various disciplines are involved, and the lack of effective support for the multi-disciplinary knowledge interaction among designers is one of the most critical reasons for the design failure. The authors intend to combine the configuration design principle with knowledge-based engineering to support the multi-disciplinary knowledge interaction during the intelligent design process. The paper firstly conducts an in-depth review of current intelligent design approaches. Then, the research gap in achieving multi-disciplinary knowledge interaction is pointed out. Finally, the multi-disciplinary knowledge configuration design approach is proposed.
