Allen Carlson On Aesthetic Appreciation Of Wild Nature

Abstract:Allen Carlson puts out the problem of difficult aesthetic appreciation of wetlands.He observes four solutions for the problem,they are the nonaesthetic solution,the formalist solution,the cognitive solution and the sublime solution.He argues that such the four have their different theoretical foundations respectively,but none of them is perfect one for the problem.In practice,the four can settle the problem by reinforce each other.I suggest a new solution,the synthetical solution.In brief,we can resolve the problem of difficult appreciation of wetlands by three ways:to respect for the intrinsic value of nature,to understand properties,functions and histories of life of nature as well deeply by the help from scientific knowledge,and to provide effective measures for insulation and protection in wetlands.
