Abstract:A new speices of genus Xesta is described in the present paper.The studied materials were collected by Prof.XU Sheng-Quan from Wengong Temple,Taibaishan(33°9'N,107°7'E),Qinling,Shaanxi Province,China,8 May,2006.Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing,China.Xesta taibaishanensis sp.nov.(Figs.1-5)Holotype(unit:mm),alt.10.6,diam.20.5;alt.of aperture 7.0,diam.of aperture 6.0;collected from Wengong Temple,Taibaishan(33°9'N,107°7'E),Qinling,Shaanxi Province,China.Paratypes 12 specimens,including 5 young snails and 7 adult snails.alt.10.0-10.7,diam.18.5-20.8;alt.of aperture 7.0-7.5,diam.of aperture 5.6-6.5.;collected from Wengong Temple,Taibaishan(33°9'N,107°7'E),Qinling,Shaanxi Province,China.Shell moderate,slightly thick,subsolid,shining,subdepressed connoid.Whorls 5,with low spiral part.Body whorl rather convex,with 5 white porcelain like ribs radiated at bottom of last whorl.Apex blunt,suture deep.Shell yellowish-brown or chestnut brown in colour,surface very rough and rather weakly striated.Aperture hoof-shaped,peristome somewhat reflexed,columellar margin reflected slightly cover the umbilicus.Jaw arcuate,yellowish-brown,with 9 ribs.Radula with 1 central tooth,5 lateral,7 marginal and 13 external marginal teeth.,This new species is obviously smaller than Xesta buccata(Heude,1882),which has a shell alt.15mm,diam.22-27mm.The latter does not have white porcelain like rib at bottom of last whorl.Etymology.This new species is named after its type locality.

Abstract:Two new species of enid land snail, Dolichena wenchuanensis n. sp. and Holcauchen multicostatus n. sp., are described from the dry-hot environment of Wenchuan, Sichuan, China based on conchological morphology. Dolichena wenchuanensis n. sp. can be easily distinguished from congeneric species by its smaller shell with fewer whorls, and H. multicostatus n. sp. can be easily distinguished from congeneric species by a ribbed post-nuclear shell. The two new species were found in a biological hotspot of the family Enidae. This discovery further enhances our understanding of the species diversity of Enidae in the dry-hot environment of China.

Abstract:The paper is the first attempt at a revision of the stylommatophoran slugs of mainland China, based on our own, previously unpublished, material, on examination of the available types, and on scarce literature data. Subgenus Neoanadenus and the following species have been described as new to science: Anadenus (Anadenus) parvipenis, A. (A.) yangtzeensis , A. (A.) yunnanensis , A. (Neoanadenus) gonggashanensis. The following synonymies have been proposed: Philomycus laoshanensis Chen et Gao = Philomycus bilineatum (Benson), Deroceras (Agriolimax) bilineatus Chen = Lehmannia valentiana (Ferussac), Deroceras (A.) melasma Chen, Xu et Liu = Limax (Limacus) flavus L. Besides, ?Arion subfuscus (Draparnaud), Meghimatium bil ineatum (Benson), M. cf. pictum (Stoliczka), M. rugosum Chen et Gao, Anadenus (A.) sechuenensis Collinge, ?A. (A.) sinensis Mollendorff, Lehmannia valentiana (Ferussac), Limax flavus Linnaeus, Deroceras (D.) altaicum (Simroth) and D. (D.) laeve (Muller) have been recorded from China. Earlier records of Deroceras agreste (Linnaeus) and Eumilax brandti (Martens) have not been confirmed and must have resulted from misidentification. An identification key, taxonomic data, diagnoses of familyto species-group taxa, descriptions of external morphology and diagnostic anatomical characters, remarks on bionomics and distribution original drawings of the external appearance and internal organs, maps and lists of localities and references are provided.

Abstract:AbstractA new enid land snail, Petraeomastus liuzhengpingi Z.-G. Chen & Z.-Y. Chen, sp. n. is described from Danba County, Sichuan Province, China based on shell and genital morphology. The new species displays a varied shell morphology with some individuals exhibiting a completely detached last whorl, which is the first record of this phenomenon in the family Enidae. The discovery contributes to our understanding of the high species diversity of Enidae in the dry-hot river valleys in China.

Abstract:Two new camaenid land snails are reported from Central China. The new genus, represented by Sinochloritislii Wu & Chen, gen. & sp. nov., the type of the genus from Sichuan, is close to Yakuchloritis Habe, Nipponochloritis Habe, Neochloritis Minato and Trichochloritis Pilsbry, but is well characterized by the smooth adult shell, highly developed epiphallic papilla, absence of penial caecum, and the presence of an epiphallus-binding muscle that binds the proximal epiphallus to the distal penis. A new species Bradybaenalinjun Wu & Chen, sp. nov. is described from Hubei Province and is characterized by having two shell bands, a spoon-shaped love dart and the proportionally shortest mucous glands among Chinese congeners.

Abstract:A new species of pomatiopsid freshwater snail, Fenouilia undata Chen & He, sp. nov. , is described from Guangxi, China, based on morphological and molecular evidence. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of characters: shell with low, prosocline, rounded axial ribs and fine spiral striae, broader than high; aperture broader than shell height; radula with lateral teeth have only two or three faint, wavy ridges on inner side. A molecular analysis of partial mitochondrial COI and 16S DNA sequences supports the systematic position of the new taxon.

Abstract:A new species of the genus Sinoennea is described in the present paper. The materials were collected in Jiangxi Province, China in 2011 by the authors. Type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Sciences and Food Engineering, Nanchang University, Nanchang and the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. Sinoennea longtanensis sp. nov. (Figs 1-5) Holotype, alt. 3.50 mm, diam. 1.80 mm, alt. of aperture 1.24 mm, diam. of aperture 1.13 mm, collected from Longtan scenic spot, Jinggangshan City (26°35′N, 114°08′E), Jiangxi Province, China, 2 July 2011. Paratypes 9 specimens, alt. 3.24-3.60 mm, diam. 1.75-1.96 mm, alt. of aperture 1.00-1.29 mm, diam. of aperture 1.03-1.29 mm, collected with the holotype. Shell small, thick, solid, cylindrical. Apex blunt. Shell milk white or light yellow in colour, glassy transparent, with shining shell surface. Suture distinct and deep. Whorls 6 12, moderately convex with high spiral part. Top two whorls smooth, following ones with vertically, equally spaced ribs, about 26-27 on the last whorl, visible only at suture. Shell surface smooth thoroughly. Columella visible on the last whorl. Aperture small, triangle. Peristome thick, expanded and reflexed. Inner lip with callus and a big flake-shaped curving and angular lamella. Outer margin the peristome beard two nipple-formed palatal teeth: the smaller one lies at the upper edge of peristome, the large one deeper down at bottom of peristome. Columellar lip vertical, with two columellar teeth, one small nipple-formed tooth at the peristome edge, a second large nipple-formed tooth somewhat lower down. Basal tooth small. Umbilicus small, cavernous. The new species resembles Sinoennea pupoidea Zhou, Zhang and Chen, 2009, but differs from the latter by the shells with 6 1 2 whorls (alt. 3.50 mm, diam. 1.80 mm, alt of aperture 1.24 mm, diam. of aperture 1.13 mm) and the small, triangle-shaped aperture. At the columellar side there are two columellar teeth and one small basal tooth. But the latter shell with 5 1 2 whorls (alt. 2.94 mm, diam. 1.68 mm, alt of aperture 0.57 mm, diam. of aperture 0.57 mm) and small, elliptical-shaped aperture. At the columellar side there is one columellar tooth, without the small basal tooth. Etymology. The name of the new species is based on the type locality Longtan scenic spot, Jinggangshan City. Geographical distribution of Sinoennea longtanensis sp. nov. is showed in Fig. 6.

Abstract:This paper describes a new species Parasinophasma ledongense sp. nov. of the genus Parasinophasma Chen & He, 2006. The diagnostic characters of the new species are illustrated, and an identification key is provided for males and females of the genus. In addition, we show that Sipyloidea wuzhishanensis (Chen & He, 2002) is a junior synonym of Huananphasma amicum (Bey-Bienko, 1959).

Abstract:We report a new land snail species representing a new genus from the mountainous area of Zhejiang, China. The snail has a depressed shell with granules all over the surface. The soft part of the new taxon is characterized by the presence of a mantle lobe whose form is reviewed herein across a wide range of helicoid snails, the presence of a developed epiphallic papilla, and the absence of a penial sheath, a dart sac apparatus and a flagellum. As indicated by a molecular-based phylogeny (16S + ITS2), the new taxon is deeply nested in the eastern Asian camaenid genera and shows a close relationship with the camaenids distributed in Central China.

Abstract:The genus Sinoennea Kobelt belongs to the family Streptaxidae. Its distribution range was limited in East Asia and South Asia. The present paper deals with a new species of genus Sinoennea Kobelt from China: Sinoennea fuzhouensis sp. nov. The materials were collected by the authors in Forest Park, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China in 2005. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.Sinoennea fuzhouensis sp. nov.(Figs.1-6)Holotype, alt. 5.17mm, diam. 2.57mm; alt. of aperture 1.86mm, diam. of aperture 1.48mm; collected from Forest Park, Fuzhou City, (26°0′N,119°3′E), Fujian Province, China, 25 Aug. 2005.Paratypes, 36 specimens, 8 young shells specimens, alt. 4.43-5.21mm diam. 2.43-2.58mm; alt. of aperture 1.71-2.00mm, diam. of aperture. 1.43-1.54mm, collected from Forest Park, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China, 25 Aug. 2005.Shell small, thick, solid, smooth, lustrous, cylindrical. Whorls 712, moderately convex with high spiral part. Shells light yellow or yellow-brownish in colour, and with some curve vertically rib-stria, but the embryonic and second without rib-stria, smooth. Apex blunt and short, ovate, with deep suture. Aperture small, ear-shaped. The peristome thick, expanded and reflexed, with 1 big flake-form angular lamellae at inner lip, with two nipple-formed teeth in right lip: 1 big strong tooth in upper right lip, 1 smaller papillary tooth in below right lip. The columellar lip and outer lip perfectly straight. Umbilicus wide, deep, cavernous.The new species fairly resembles Sinoennea larvula (Heude, 1882), but differs from the latter by the shells with 712 whorls, (alt. 5.17mm, diam. 2.57mm; alt of aperture 1.86mm, diam. of aperture 1.48mm) in the big size, with 1 big flake-form angular lamellae at inner lip, with two teeth in right lip; 1 big strong nipple-formed tooth in upper right lip, 1 smaller papillary tooth in below right lip. The latter shell big (alt. 3.5mm, diam. 1.0mm) and with one small wart-form tooth in right lip.

Abstract:Two new species of sap beetles, A. (A.) similinconspicua sp. nov. and A. (A.) shizhuica sp. nov., of the subgenus Aethina Erichson, 1843 are described and illustrated from southwestern China. And four new species, A. (A.) cyaneipennis Grouvelle, 1903, A. (A.) dubitabilis Kireitshuk, 1986, A. (A.) kirejtshuki Jelínek, 1995, and A. (A.) lindskogi Jelínek & Kirejtshuk, 1986 are recorded for the first time from China.
