Abstract:Objective To illustrate the specific situation of migrant children on academic adaptability and analyze the reasons contributing to these problems,in order to provide evidences for creating a better environment for the migrant children.Methods A total of 236 middle school students were investigated with the Academic Adaptability Test.Results ① On the overall scale,migrant children didn't show a significant difference on academic adaptability(χ2=3.037,P>0.05).②There were significant differences on gender.Moreover,girls performed better than boys in following aspects:overall adaptability(t=-2.31,P<0.05),passion in study(t=2.57,P<0.05),planing of study(t=-3.46,P<0.001),note taking(t=-2.15,P<0.05),family environment(t=-2.16,P<0.05) and relationship(t=2.40,P<0.05) between peers.③ The students in grade 2 got a higher score in learning strategy scale than grade 1(t=2.661,P<0.05).④ The duration of migration had no influence on the adaptability of learning.Conclusion Children are vulnerable to migration in academic adaptability.Academic adaptability can be improved by improving interpersonal relationship,family environment and study skills.
